Shout out to the management staff! Went above and beyond to make things right! That’s why we keep coming back here, always great food and service!

The food is pretty good. As a bar it’s OK. Their shots are WAY overpriced. Drinks are either too strong or too watered down. The patio is cool but past 11p it’s just full of sloppy drunks. It’s becoming kinda trashy…

Cajun fries — 5 stars. Everything else — 2. Bland and boring, expensive and not worth it. It looks sketchy inside and all the teenage looking girls had their boobs out to draw people in for their bad food. Our waitress was nice but took forever to come back, I scanned the area for her and I saw her at a distance doing cheerleading moves in the middle of the restaurant? Wtf that is just the weirdest most sad place lol. Believe the reviews, don’t do what I did and waste your money and time. It was an awkward experience. Won’t go back.

Horrible service. Avoid this place like the plague. Waitress didn’t know difference between Chardonnay and Cabernet. Should not survive in Dallas metropolis

We now why there was seating available… Perhaps the biggest disappointment in years! Went before Setzer show and ordered beer and nachos… Fortunately the beers made it as after 50 minutes they were unable to muster the effort to put a handful of chips and a schlup of cheese in a basket For gods sake don’t waste your time here…

What an incredibly place! We were looking for a place to bring out of town family for brunch and football — and we found our new regular Sunday brunch place! Dodie’s in Allen is fantastic! From their 40 plus TV’s(I counted) to their Bloody Mary bar and awesome brunch menu, they do it right! The food was great and service was professional and attentive. The Bloody Mary bar was huge with tons of choices to create your perfect concoction. We can’t wait to go back this weekend. I highly recommend Dodie’s in Allen!

I’ve given this places so many chances and it continues to disappoint in every category. It’s filthy every time Ive been, the food is horrible, they should be ashamed to call themselves a Cajun restaurant. Food is a greasy, over seasoned, and still has no flavor, nothing Cajun about it. Anybody can fry something and sprinkle some creole season on it and call it Cajun. The gumbo I had was probably the worst I’ve ever had, didn’t make it passed two bites. The drinks are watered down and never good. I ordered a double vodka cranberry and idk what came to my table but almost all the ice was melted and it tasted like watery orange juice… how do you mess up a vodka cranberry? Only thing decent is their sour cream dip and chips, that is, when the chips are actually cooked through and not soggy sliced potatoes. Been multiple times with different groups of people who share the same opinion as me… don’t waste your time with this place.

Went just at the end of happy hour. The food on the tables looked good. Once we sat down, it was a delay before our waitress came. She was nice but service was slow. When looking around the restaurant, we noticed several tables without food. Seems like a great pace to socialize but maybe not so much if you’re hungry. Seems like everyone was waiting a long time to order and the food to come out. I had the shrimp tacos which were tasty. The combo fajitas were good also. Fried oyster po-boy needed more seasoning. Crawfish nachos were sent back. Might try again but not sure.

The waitstaff knows what they are doing. Ask for Clarissa. Bar has generous pours and the 2 for 1 Fajitas on Wed nights are the best. Soo many TV’s, everthing I want is on.

Bad customer service, stay away. Great location, the table service has been good. The bartender on labor day hates her job, her attitude shows it. While there, 2 customers stormed off because of her and she couldn’t get my tab right. It looks like the regulars get taken care of, which works for them I guess. They might as well put an automated machine and the customer service would actually exist. Stay away from the slim older female bartender.

Happy we ignored the reviews and gave it a try. Took a small group of friends and family to celebrate three birthdays. Service was awesome, I wish I knew her name, And the food was really good, too. Started with the big sampler and everything was great and fresh. Everyone was very happy with their orders and the freshness of the oysters. A couple of them were HUGE. I admit, I meant to sneak a bottle of their hotsauce out but I forgot. It made the poboy amazing. Ignore some of the bad reviews and give it a try. Btw, this was at 1pm on a Sunday. I heard it gets pretty crazy at nights. Pretty mellow when we were there.

The bar seems decent other than this awful smell at one side of the bar. It seems to be the happening place in Allen. But I will say they have a pool table and the people are very polite!

I went here the day after July 4th to kick it with my homegirl. She said her friend is always telling her about this place. I had never heard of it, but it’s near my job, and I forgot one of my midnight reads there.(Creating Wealth, Orin Daben). So we get up in my lil’ coupe, and drive over. It’s a little tricky to find if you’ve never been there before. My GPS placed it next to In-N-Out, but it’s really behind the Marriott, across from the Allen Event Center. The place is huge, and even though it was rather busy, there was plenty of parking. Now, the main reason we went? Happy Hour is 11 – 7 … EVERYSINGLEDAY! They have $ 3 and $ 4.50 drink specials. My homegirl and I got frozen Hurricanes. I’m someone who loves to think she’s a great alcoholic, but honestly, the first drink will have me lush. I am *so* lightweight it’s not even funny, dude. But these hurricanes? They had a strong amount of liquor but you didn’t *taste* it(when I can taste the alcohol I’m so turned off, lol). I ended up having 2 of them, and we split a round of peel and eat shrimp with potatoes and corn, some gumbo, and a deep fried brownie. Look. I don’t know whose idea it was to deep fry a brownie, and I would usually consider this treasonous, but it was pretty dang good. I think I got about 75% of it in my belly before I gave up, swallowed the rest of the Hurricane and went about my business. Food has generous portions and decent prices. I somewhat wish there were some appetizers on the Happy Hour menu, but this won’t stop me from coming back. I definitely enjoyed myself and the service from the waiter, and I’m looking forward to my next trip. Which, hopefully, will be pretty soon.

Stopped in before heading over to the Allen Event Center for an Indoor Football game. Had a couple of beers super cold and a little bite; the food isn’t the best Cajun I’ve had but it was just perfect to go along with the beers and football. Sat at the bar and the service was great. Enjoyed conversations with the people around us and the bartender. Would highly recommend for a stress free relaxing moment. Not quite a 4* but certainly not 3.

Love the atmosphere but the food was mediocre. Oysters not fresh, nachos were bland. They did have great seasoned French fries. Beer was ice cold!

We met new friends here and had never been before. I did not have high expectations after reading the Unilocal reviews. I was pleasantly surprised upon entering, it did not appear as horrible as I had imagined in my head. I do not think it looks like a dive bar. They have two pool tables, which was also a surprise. We sat at a booth close to the bar. Margaritas are typically my drink, but I should have taken a fellow-yelper’s review and stayed away. I did not. The margarita was terrible. I tried to like it, but it was not drinkable and I sent it back. Our server did not give me attitude about it and immediately said she’d get it removed from our bill. Our friends had raved about the jalapeño poppers, here Texas Torpedos, which are jalapenos stuffed with pepper jack cheese and wrapped in bacon before being battered and fried, served with ranch. My boyfriend and I ordered a basket to share and they were AMAZING! I did not think I would like the bacon, but they were delicious and quite spicy. One order came with 6, so we ordered another one after quickly polishing off the first basket. We also needed extra ranch. You will not be disappointed. Service was okay. We stayed about two hours, and our server checked on us pretty regularly for the first hour. When we were ready to leave, we looked for her for about 20 minutes and she was not anywhere in the main restaurant area. She finally came out to say she was leaving and we told her so were we! She did remind me when she brought the bill that she had removed the margarita, so that was nice. We’ll be back for the Texas Torpedos and maybe some pool!

About as Cajun as Colorado. The service wasn’t bad, but as someone originally from Louisiana, I have to say that the food at Dodie’s is the furthest from Cajun as I’ve ever tasted. I made the mistake of getting crawfish from here while it was in season thinking it would do since I didn’t have the opportunity to be back home much during the season. Everything was wrong about it. Dry potatoes(rather than moist, semi-soft and soaked in the flavor of the boil), weird dust spice on tiny unhealthy looking mudbugs, no garlic, no spice, no flavor. If you are looking for good Cajun food and don’t mind a chain, go to Papadeaux’s. They’re still not as authentic and as good tasting as what you can get when you go to South Louisiana, but it’s at least far more palatable.
