This is my favorite place. Not only is the coffee rich and delicious, but the baristas are kind and always smiling. They even play the local alternative Christian radio station! Great environment, great coffee, awesome people. Even the customers and regulars there are always nice– reading, working on school stuff, or studying the Bible. My favorite drink is the chai latte or London Fog if you ask for it, they charge it as tea plus milk=)

The coffee was fantastic and as a technology student the wireless was usable. The Christian environment was present but not overpowering a big plus and the girl that worked there was very nice even when she came to tell us they closed ten minutes ago and asked if we wanted anything to go. Good bye Starbucks hello Saxbys

I just moved to the area about a month ago, and I come here as often as possible! The baristas are SO friendly, which is 95% of the reason I love it here. I’m not a crazy coffee connoisseur, but their coffee drinks are really good, and I sometimes even have them«surprise me» with what they think I’ll like. They also have a cozy fireplace and couches. I would definitely recommend it for 20-somethings to come hang out and study, it has a really good vibe to it. :)

I am an outside sales rep who brings lots and lots of coffee to many offices throughout the week. I bring a lot of business to this business. I feel that the employees are all very kind especially Candice who learns the customers’ names and their drinks. However, one Saturday I ordered three drinks, latte specifically and I provided my own organic milk that I like from whole foods. I was really alarmed when they still charged me the full price of the latte even though I provided my own milk! I wasn’t trying to be cheap, but I like certain organic milk so that they do not provide. when I asked the owner Bill about this, he was quite snide saying that they still have to pay for cups and syrup. I was very saddened by his response especially since I bring a lot of business here. I would have thought that he would have apologized for his employees error in overcharging me so that he could be assured to have my business back again. Instead he focused on being very cheap with a regular customer. Also, the new frequent flyer app that they have is pretty good, but it is faulty in the sense that you cannot use two different credit cards for it. I shop at Saxbys for personal and business and, use two separate credit cards. therefore whenever I come there for business, I am NOT eligible for the frequent flyer miles because it’s on a separate account. When I spoke to him about this they just kind of poo-pooed it like it was no big deal. I’m a bit saddened by this experience today because I try not to go to huge corporate places to give the smaller businesses a little bit of a fair shake. Unfortunately, the owner Bill doesn’t understand that having a warm friendly courteous personality goes a long way in maintaining a small business. Again, the other employees are wonderful it’s just the owner that needs to work on his socializing skills. ***Update*** although I am not real thrilled that they over charge me if I want to use my own organic milk, my customers really, really like the coffee here, and so I am going to have to say that the happiness I bring my referral sources overshadows the fact that I was wronged by being overcharged. Oh well. :)

I love this place. Im not much of a coffee expert but I like a clean – well ran business with excellent service and thats what I get everytime I come to Saxbys. I visit at three three times a week, usually to get indoors and take a break from long bicycle rides. The staff is always upbeat and friendly, even though I never spend much money there. They are just happy with their jobs and they do them quite well. After reading a few complaints about the service I just cant see it. After 100 visits I’ve never seen bad service. Its just a cool friendly place to take a break, do some reading, have a coffee or a bagel or even a banana! It’s one of my favorite places in Allen.

Love the drinks. I come here once a week for a certain kind of latte. They often get it wrong even though I order it the same way every time. Today they got it wrong twice and were super rude to me as if it was mymy fault instead of admitting their oversight. I am not impressed with the drive thru customer service. Too bad.

I ordered a large espresso with caramel and vanilla syrup. She changed my order to a latte with extra add ons so I ended up paying $ 5 for mediocre coffee with grounds in my cup. Not impressed, not recommended.

I have been going here for years now, and I always get the Iced Brittish Islander, and in the past year I’ve added caramel to that. All of the employees are always very friendly and Candace is always above and beyond with customer service. I’ve tried other drinks and they’re all pretty good. If you want something super sweet get the Cookie Monster!

I swear I thought no coffee shop could be worse than Starbucks… that is until I ordered an espresso from here! I’ve pulled better shots with a walmart espresso machine and 1 year old beans! My wife’s latte was created from this horrid concoction as well only the over foamed milk saved it. Even that was burned. Starbucks won today, and that is pathetic to say the least! Why won’t Unilocal let me give negative stars? Oh and Saxby’ s, I am more than willing to help train your folks so no one else suffers like I did!

I came upon Saxbys as I was trying to exit the strip mall and saw their drive thru. Raining outside, baby asleep in the backseat, warm drink and a drive thru, YES please! Since I was a first timer I asked the kind gentlemen taking my order what he recommended in the latte section. After making some recommendations I selected«one of their most popular drinks» the British Islander(macadamia nut, english toffee and white chocolate) and added a chocolate chip cookie. $ 6+ sounded like a lot(I don’t do starbucks), but I was treating myself so I went with it. The cookie(posted photo) wasn’t moist or very fresh. The chocolate was baked on top, not in the cookie. As a woman who delights in having chocolate chip cookies for lunch, I did eat it all, but wouldn’t get it again. My British Islander was SWEEEET! and not in the, cool, awesome sort of way. Rather the, I think my teeth just rotted, don’t tell my dentist, sugar rush headache kind of way. I had two sips and had to stop. Wowser! It smelled like delicious coffee, but was just overwhelmingly too sweet for my taste. Rather than dump it and waste my money, I poured the entire thing into an ice cube tray. I’ll add little sugar packed«ice cubes» to my regular coffee. It’ll add just the right touch. Now, after reading the other reviews that sound pretty similar to mine(although a little harsher), I think Saxbys should start including my little trick ad a tip along with their drinks… «Psych! You thought this was a drink! We didn’t intend for you to rot your teeth all in one sitting! No, you pour it into ice cube trays and add little sugar cubes to your coffee.» My problem was solved, but I probably won’t be back :)

We have visited a couple of times. We aren’t regular customers, but came by today on the way out of town. Today’s experience… drive thru wait time 10+ minutes. Two cars ahead. We ordered two muffins, which tasted great. And two coffees; latte and cappuccino. Cappuccino is good. Latte tastes like hot water. I don’t think I’ll be back for coffee. They have made Starbucks look even better.

My fiancé and I drove through this weekend. He ordered the British Islander and I don’t remember the name of mine but it was supposed to be S’mores flavored. All I ask for in a cup of coffee is that it is strong. These were anything but strong. In either one of our selections, there were no discernible flavors besides a hint of watered down coffee masked by generic tasting syrup. Very blah. We both ended throwing away about ¾ of our drinks. Big waste of $ 10. I’ll drive through Dunkin’ Donuts or Starbucks next time.

Similar to a Starbucks but with a cozier feel inside, although the barristas weren’t as talkative or friendly as a Starbucks. I will say that they have a large number of flavor combinations and so the sheer different number of drinks you could order here in either cold or hot combinations bumped them up a star for me. Any time I’m shopping in the area I swing in and grab a different flavor combo and I haven’t been disappointed yet! Yum!

I really wanted to like Saxby’s. It’s a real nice cozy place. I love to go hang out there and talk with a friend, but the coffee just isn’t any good. I’ve ordered 4 or 5 different drinks from their menu, and all of them taste exactly the same. You could order a hazelnut latte and a mocha latte and you wouldn’t know the difference. They all have the same bland taste, it almost tastes like it’s trying to pretend to have flavor in it, but it really doesn’t. On top of that, despite the deceptively bland taste, each flavored latte is apparently jam packed with sugar. I’m talking like almost twice as much sugar as something from Starbucks. Check the nutrition facts on their website. If I’m going to drink something made of pure sugar it should at least taste good. I often buy a coffee somewhere else and then go drink it and hang out at Saxby’s. I really like the atmosphere, that’s why I give it 2 stars instead of 1. The coffee, however, is just disappointing. It is with regret that I must label Saxby’s as «worse than Starbucks.» And when you’re a barista who only drinks hand-made coffee, like me, that’s a serious insult. Sorry Saxby’s.

Definitely *not* the best coffee in Allen — there is much better coffee available at other nearby locations. I’m not sure why the coffee isn’t good — the company seems to have the right ideas and ambiance(plus good wifi connectivity, so it’s a great place to get some work done) however the coffee is just not good — and that seems like something the company would have worked to perfect — especially in a Starbucks-heavy market where the chain has dominated the region. I’m not saying they need to copy Starbucks — just that to continue to succeed in this market they need to step up their game. The Whole Foods and Market Street cafés have better coffee than Saxby’s.

Good service and I think the coffee is better than Starbucks. I’ve only been here a few times though and I’ve always had nice people making coffee at the counter. Good place to have a meeting and catch up with people, that’s what I generally use this place for when I’m in town.
