Very friendly service, but the poke was just okay. The portion size is fine, but they use way too much sauce in whatever you order. If i return, I would ask for either the sauce on the side or only on the fish, because when I came, I ordered the spicy mayo sauce over greens and they basically put so much sauce that each leaf was completely coated in the sauce, and by the end I was feeling pretty sick! Service is very friendly though, and you can sample the sauces before you order.

I love this place! I tried to go on New Years Day and it was unfortunately closed. Finally got to try it and it was DELICIOUS! I got the soba noodles and salad as a base with all the toppings plus spicy tuna for an extra $ 1. Overall not too bad for what you get. Love the crispy fried onions that add a nice little crunch to it.

They finally opened a poke place in Alhambra! I don’t have to drive to Pasadena anymore, which is a HUGE plus. This place has a lot of parking space in the back, so it’s actually really convenient. The sizes are decent, I get full from the regular size. I really do like how fresh the fish is though. One thing I wasn’t really happy with, was how they drench so much sauce. But I mean, it wasn’t a big deal. So I’m happy with my purchase. I wouldn’t recommend getting drinks here though. They’re mediocre, or at least the teas were alright.

Thank goodness they finally opened a poke place in SGV! I mean I know there are already a couple in Pasadena, but those are a bit far for me(I live closer to San Gabriel). This place replaced Ice Que, the place that used to serve funnel cake ice cream sandwiches. I’m pretty sure it’s the same owners because the décor looks exactly the same. The price of the poke bowls is similar to other poke places. The cool thing about this place though is they give you a lot of choices for toppings and don’t charge you extra for any of it. They also have a lot of options for sauces. My favorite is the lemongrass ponzu. In addition to the typical rice base, they also offer cold soba noodles or mixed greens, which I feel is pretty unique. I usually go for the soba noodles. For the fish, they offer 3 types of fish(ahi tuna, salmon, albacore). By default you get a mix of all of them, or you can ask for only the ones you want. I know some people like their poke bowls pretty simple, with just rice, fish, and a topping. So, I don’t think this is the place for them. However, for people who like to customize their poke bowls and get more bang for their buck, this is definitely the place for them! Overall, I really like PokeStuf for when I get that poke craving and don’t want to drive too far. However, if I want some really high quality poke and don’t mind driving a little further, I would probably go elsewhere since there are so many options nowadays.

It’s not bad poke, but it’s just not great either. They take out some of the guesswork by limiting your options to 3 fish and giving you a mix of all 3, but I found that the fish portion was much smaller than I get at other poke places. The sauces are nice and so are the toppings, but it’s not anything particularly better than other places. I wouldn’t mind coming here if I were craving poke but if I had choices, I probably wouldn’t choose this one.

Having all my other coworkers try out this poke place, we finally decided to give it a try too. During our lunchtime adventure, we drove over after a quick stop at CVS. We arrived around 1:30pm so the lunch time crowd was gone which was perfect for us. We both ordered the regular size, for our base we both wanted the soba noodles! Second, we did a mix of ahi, salmon, albacore. No spicy tuna for us. For mine, I did the lemongrass ponzu sauce and the grand finale, toppings included quite a lot(no skimping) and since my lovely coworker wanted the seaweed, but she already ordered it on hers, I gave her mine. Everything was made quite quickly and I also appreciated that one of the staff remembered our names and remembered to give my seaweed to my coworker. Details are important and I really like when people take the time to remember and follow through with our request. Overall, another yummy place for food in Alhambra and even better that it’s close to my work!

Not the best, but not the worst. There are just so many poke places now that the market really is oversaturated for this stuff. Street parking and lot parking is pretty easy to find(mostly all 2-hour limit). This is one of the few poke places I’ve been to that doesn’t assemble it as you go(a la Chipotle style); you tell them all the things you want in your bowl and they’ll make it after you’ve completed your transaction. One of the upsides to this place is having a lot of topping options to choose from.

As far as all poke places go, their fish quality better be edible otherwise they’d be shut down and be filled with 1-star reviews from people having stomach aches. So I’m going off of what i’m getting that makes them unique. This place is good and acceptable, but not really mindblowing. 3.5 FOODQUALITY: This is the first time where I’ve had poke that wasn’t really heavy seasoned with their sauces, and I appreciated that I got to taste the fish for what it was. However, the salad was dressed much more than the fish itself so I felt like everything was disjointed. So the rice was really warm and fluffy, the salad was cold and dressed, and the poke was arguably sitting on top itself with all the other toppings. It tasted good all separately, but nothing came together for me. ENVIRONMENT: I’m just going to note that their tables were WOBBLY when I went. So be careful if you’re putting your elbows on to the table and/or accidentally bumping into other tables. Overall, I’m fine with coming back but this isn’t really my first preference for poke.

It seems like Poke bowls are the new craze nowadays, so we decided to give this place a try for our first poke bowl experience… My spouse and I had the large bowls($ 12.75 each). Mine had the ahi tuna and salmon on a bed of salad, that included some of the(free) toppings on the menu. My spouse had the ahi tuna on a bed of salad + white rice(because most Filipinos cannot live without their daily dose of rice — particularly white rice). Fish and salad were fresh — so no complaints there. Seemed like good quality fish overall. They were out of the siracha mayo and a couple of other sauces, so I ended up going with the miso dressing. Not a great sign when they’re out of all the good ones on your first visit, right? Especially on a early Friday evening. My husband really liked his poke/sashimi bowl, but he did not get full. I gave him part of my bowl and he still did not get full. So, soon after leaving this place, we ended up walking across the street to «Al’s Italian Beef» to split an Italian beef sandwich. I think PokeStuf is best for lunch and not dinner. Some fish on a bed of salad and/or noddles and a little bit of rice is not going to do it for ya unless you are a size 2. I know the pictures I posted on here shows«a lot» of food on a bowl, but there wasn’t all that much substance other than the fish. Actually I have to admit that I’ve had better poke at Whole Foods Market, minus the salad/rice/noodles. BTW, they have the cutest Hello Kitty soy sauce bottles — tehee!

Poke with a more different spin than most. What strikes me as a great option is their soba noodles in their poke(instead of rice/greens as the only option). I also enjoyed their sauces(especially the Sriracha garlic and honey miso) and that they let you sample them beforehand. Their toppings are pretty standard(an assortment of the traditional onions, furikake, etc) although since they’re all mixed together, I feel like you get a bit less. Their fish quality is good, but I wish that they had a but more than 3 – 4 fish choices per day. Overall extra points for their soba and sauces, however their competitors do offer more fish varieties and quantity of sides. Definitely a solid option to get your poke fix on.

Woohoo, poki in Alhambra, yesss!!! Also, by checking in here, I finally got my Carrot Top Badge(healthy eater), hehehe! ;) I got two large bowls to go for @12.75 each with a $ 3.00 cherry lime soda — total with tax $ 28.00. Friendly staffers, answering any questions I had with their variety of sauces, and you also get to sample them first before they make your poki bowl. My bowl was the edaname pesto with brown rice, big three mixture of salmon, ahi and albacore. Served with salad, avocado, cucumbers, masago, fried onion, furikake. From the two free columns — I chose: edaname, kukui nuts(similar to macadamian nuts, but an earthier taste to it) and crabmeat. I dig my bowl — and it is so filling!!! Everything was fresh and delicious. I also liked the cherry lime soda — sweet and tangy. Though $ 3 seemed a lil pricey to me. My mom’s bowl was the same toppings, but I got her sesame shoyu with Soba noodles. She liked it and it was easy to swallow on her sore throat. Though she did mentioned that the salad was a day old since some of it kept poking her throat, and that the noodles were slightly overcooked. Also, the soba noodles aren’t the Korean /Japanese noodles I’m used to seeing(dark and thick). They’re a thinner version and it’s white. However, was still tasty enough to fill her tummy. Overall, I’m a fan of this place! Staffers here are friendly, and they also gave me a sample of pineapple chutney to try. It was spicy for Mom and I and was happy that it was given on the side to try. So stoked that they opened a poki place here. Definitely worth the comeback!

I came here and it caught me by surprise that they have changed their menu yet again… for the worse. Here are their changes… –Additional 0.50 for extra sauce — really? What if they don’t give enough sauce to begin with? We have to pay the extra 0.50 because that person didn’t add enough sauce? –Premium toppings are $ 1 more! –You get one free, but each additional is $ 1. So, if I want seaweed salad, Korean pickles, and pineapple chutney, crab meat that’s an additional $ 4. There are other«premium toppings.» For the extra topping, you would think they would give a larger amount of topping since it’s an additional $ 1, nope, it was still a small amount. My bowl which used to cost 9.50 will now be 13.50 with my toppings. This is a 42% price increase! This is going to end my weekly Pokestuf visit.

This makes me sad, but I was pretty disappointed with my poke bowl during my last visit. The fish that I had wasn’t very fresh. My boyfriend also didn’t like his bowl either. He didn’t even finish it because he really disliked it. Only good thing I do like about this place is their soba noodle! My boyfriend didn’t care much for that either. This might be TMI, but… the worst thing was that we BOTH had diarrhea after eating here… :(

Sometimes all you need is that ONE thing that people love and that is your second chance at success! PokeStuf’s one thing is their SAUCE! Upon trying the Poke place in Pasadena, I decided to come back for the sauce, since I was unhappy about the Salmon cube size. I mentioned my displeasure to the employee at the cash register and she told me they do it by weight, so size didn’t matter. 3.7 i think for the regular size. Since they do measure by size the Salmon cube Gods must have been smiling down upon me that day, because my salmon cube sizes were much better then my first time there! This was also one of the few places I have ever gone to that when you ask for a lot of extra sauce, they actually oblige! The Staff here is always nice and attentive! The cashier from my first time thoughtfully remembered me this time around and gave me a pleasant wide smiled greeting! When I told an employee they had no more soy sauce at their usual soy sauce stand, he said he would bring it right out to me and indeed he did and my container was filled to the brim! I was happy with me 2nd go around, although I(and probably everyone else) still wishes the food would be ready faster=)

I really want to like their style of poke, but I was not wow’d. I was excited to try a poke place by home, but… that wait of one bowl to-go killed it. Decided to give this place a try on a weekday, when it wasn’t even busy, but I had to wait 20 to almost 30 minutes for a to-go… Ordered a regular brown rice mixed fish with cilantro yuzo — heard a lot of good things about it, but when I ate it, it was a bit bland. It needed more flavor and seasoning. Overall, the fish was fresh but the sauce needs a bit of work.

The poke takeover in So-Cal’s intense. Lots of competition out there & I am happy to be of service to see who is best. Pokestuf was quite impressive. Their tactic is to already have a set price based on the size you order(Regular: $ 9.50 /Large: $ 11.50), regardless of your add-ons. FOOD/SERVICE: The lady that got my order was friendly enough and clarified anything I wondered about as it was my first time visiting. Every bowl already comes with four types of fish(Ahi, salmon, albacore, & striped bass) which is much more than the regular two choices of its other LA competitors before they start charging you for extra fish. Mixed greens is already a part of the bowl no matter what base you choose. I’m a bit intrigued by those soba noodles. They also have some pretty different flavors, I chose sriracha mayo(most popular). As for add ons, they have plenty! None of which costs extra! There’s already so much that comes with the bowl itself such as seaweed salad & avocado. These Pokestuf bowls will definitely get you stuff. DRINKS/DESSERT: Ah! Another poke place with other drinks aside from the usual soda fountain. I tried their Thai tea & was pretty pleased. My next Pokestuf bowl will most likely come with a jasmine milk! :) There is also a honey yuzu & a blood orange jasmine that may catch your attention. Lastly, they have dessert! Hawaiian shaved iced in fact! Didn’t have enough time or stomach space the first time but wouldn’t mind trying it for the next time! ATMOSPHERE/SPACE: It’s pretty clean in there. They are fairly new. They have games & books to enjoy which makes it family and children friendly that other poke joints have yet to attempt. Other poke places are much smaller in size but this spot’s a good place to lounge. It is also perfect for a quick lunch break from work if you’re in the area! Overall, its price for the size of their poke bowls is most impressive! Heads up(s): — My regular bowl plus drink was a solid $ 12.50, so consider yourself treated with your wallet still happy — Street parking & Back lot — The lunch rush during weekdays isn’t too bad, I’d assume peak hours would be late afternoon/evenings ENJOY, Unilocalheads!

More like 4.5, but you get both quality AND quantity, and I haven’t had such a positive experience for poke in a long while :) Great shop located in a fairly new side of Main St… right next to Tea Barrel, and near a whole lot of other new shops :) Parking during lunch on a weekday is not too bad, but I wonder how crazy it gets on weekends… The person serving us was very patient, and super nice. She went through the whole menu with us, and even gave us tiny samples of the sauces since we couldn’t figure out which one we wanted! Speaking of the sauces, there are a ton of choices to choose from – so much I was almost overwhelmed! They pretty much have something for everyone – the cilantro yuzu is very refreshing, the lemongrass ponzu more traditional but still with a nice kick! Edamame pesto was also an interesting flavor, a bit grainy though from the edamame, but I’m sure some people wouldn’t mind. I didn’t quite like sriracha racha garlic though, as it tasted almost cheesy? Cheese and raw fish don’t quite go with my palate, but maybe someone else would appreciate it more. They add a TON of toppings for you, without extra charge as well! Totally awesome… everything comes out mixed, with a generous heaping portion of fish :) For some reason, I still like another popular Pasadena location more(I feel like the sauces stand out more), but this is actually my second fave joint! Huge, hefty portions, great quality food, and nice employees. Can’t go wrong! I’m definitely coming back ASAP to try the other sauces and fish!

I came in around 11am and it was pretty empty. The place got crowded as soon as noon time came rolling in. The staff are friendly and helpful in answering any questions you have regarding their menu. First off, you pick a base. They have soba noodles here. Pretty interesting. You get a mixture of their fish, and then choose a flavor. I think this place has a lot of good choices for their flavors. Some of my favorites: lemongrass ponzu, and miso honey. Their cilantro one along with the sesame one is pretty tasty too. You can ask for sauces on the side and you are not limited to one flavor. Last, but not least, you have a selection of toppings/add ons(salad, masago, avocados, etc). They have a large variety of things you can add with no extra charge. For the toppings – they are already included, so you can ask for which ones you don’t want in your bowl. As for the«add-on» section, you can choose any additional in that section to be included. Okay. It’s $ 9.50 for a regular; it’s kinda filling, but I think there should be a bit more food in there. The presentation is nice. It does take a bit of time for them to prepare your food though. When I was there, there seems to be only 2 people on staff. They give you an okay amount of fish and seemed pretty fresh. However, I could hardly see the toppings in my food aside from the salad. It’s like the toppings were barely there. Also, check on the freshness of the avocados. Some of it was a bit off colored. Their blood orange jasmine is pretty good and refreshing, needs more jasmine flavor though. Overall, okay for a poke place.

Wow! I’m actually quite surprised about this place. I’ve had it bookmarked for a while now and decided to finally try it. There’s a ton of free parking in the back as well as on the side streets. Upon walking in, I couldn’t help but notice how cramped and stuffy this place felt. That’s one of the downsides about this place as well as there only being one register. Waited in line for about 10 – 15 minutes to order then waited another 10 minutes for my food to come out. I ordered a regular bowl($ 9.50). First you pick your fish; I went with the ahi and salmon. Next is the base; I got half soba noodles and half mixed greens. The soba noodles were really good and filling! Then you pick your sauce; I got a mix of the siracha ranch garlic and lemongrass ponzu. This had the right amount of sweetness and spicyness. And lastly was a wide range of toppings that were already included in the dish; This included radish, cucumbers, masago, onion, seaweed, crab meat, avocado, and furikake. You can also add additional toppings free of charge too! I got pickled ginger, sesame seed, cilantro, and kukui nuts. My bowl was so delicious and flavorful. I enjoyed it so much that I’m already planning my next visit here. For the price you pay, you really get your moneys worth. Definitely would recommend this place to others. Be prepared to wait and sweat though! lol
