In one word: Dr. Mauer is AWESOME! But since I can use more words to describe her, I think I will. My daughter came down with a fever yesterday and started to cough so much that she was throwing up. Poor thing =(
So when I called to the office today to get an appt, unfortunately they were fully booked. Then there was an issue with insurance, but she still made an appt for me without hesitation. The receptionist continued to help make an appt for tomorrow first thing in the morning. She was very nice and cordial. I have experienced with other doctor’s offices where they would bark «Sort it out with insurance first and then call back for an appt!» (Meanies)
At this point, I was already grateful. But the cherry on top was when Dr. Mauer herself called me back to check on my daughter and offer advice. I missed her call and was planning to call her back in a couple of hours after taking care of some other items. She called back again and said she was glad to get a hold of me and wanted to hear about my daughter’s condition. She explained what each symptom meant, and what course of action could be taken, as well what each one would mean in terms of result. She then wrote up a prescription as we spoke and faxed it to the pharmacy of my choice. The meds were ready for me to pick up soon after. What an experience. A PLEASANT Experience! I like doctors again. If only they could all be like her!

I recently switched Medical groups to Healthcare Partners and I am so glad I did! I made the switch in time because my one year old son needed to go to Urgent Care recently and luckily there is a 24-​hour facility near us. If I hadn’t switched to HCP, I would’ve had to take him to a local ER and I imagine that would’ve been horrible!
After the urgent care visit, we had a follow up appointment with our new pediatrician, Dr. Mauer. I was eager to meet her as this would be my son’s first pediatrician. When he was born, he was seen by our family doctor, whom we’ve dropped because of his lack of everything you’d want in a doctor… especially one that is caring for your first-​born!
We waited in the room for no more than 10 minutes when Dr. Mauer popped in. She is a petite woman who has a very approachable and relaxed demeanor. She greeted us with a big smile and immediately turned to our son to begin building a bond with him. You can tell she knew what she was doing and that she understands you just can’t start examining a child or going through the motions without actually getting to know him a little bit. She asked how he was doing and what he likes… she has a little koala hanging from her stethoscope and she was showing it to him. I saw that she has been with HCP since 1983, I believe… so this woman knows her stuff!
Throughout the check-​up, she was thorough, patient, polite and in no way made us feel rushed at all. She asked if we had any questions and when we did ask, she answered them respectfully and provided important facts and information.
If you are looking for a pediatrician, I would highly recommend Dr. Mauer. Her staff is great also! We’ve been helped by Guillermo the last 4 times we’ve been in and he’s a pleasant guy! He noticed my son was excited to see a Mickey mouse mug on their desk and Guillermo quickly pulled out a box and handed a Mickey Mouse sticker to my son. These are the small things that go a long way
I can’t say again how happy I am that we now have Dr. Mauer looking over our son! Oh and if she is not in one day and you need to take your child in, there is another doctor who is her backup and her name is Dr. Weschler. She is great also! Very kind and informative. Overall, you will be happy. My primary doctor also works out of this office — it’s the Healthcare Partners in Alhambra. :)

I can’t say enough about Dr. Eva Mauer. She has been my 4yr old’s pediatrician and my 8month old’s pediatrician, and I am so thankful for her caring, thorough and pleasant nature!
Because of our insurance, I had to have other pediatricians see both of my sons upon delivery in the hospital, and they have also seen urgent care doctors, so I have seen at least 4 – 5 other pediatricians to compare her to. No one can measure up to her sincere care and concern that she always shows for my boys, and for the very efficient and thorough way she works with her staff. She always follows up over the phone when I call to speak to nurses. She’s professional and knowledgable, but she also has a motherly vibe to her. So so glad we have her in our life!
