First they have a(B) rating that they try to cover up with a large vase. The service sucks, and every time i feel like it’s crawling with bacteria. I came for the crab but lately its been getting smaller and full of barnicals. It’s over crowded with people.

Well I had not been in here since March, and damn!, I really did not enjoy today. It was about 91 degrees when we arrived. The food was decent as usual, I tried to eat cooler dishes as it was very hot inside. I went to the men’s room two times, it was disgusting, even for an Asian AYCE joint. I shit you not, there was a long pair of serving tongs in one of the stalls, draped over the handicapped handle on the wall. They matched the glass meat loaf pan that was to catch the dripping soap I guess. So between the filth and the heat, it will be a while before I return. When we went outside at 3:00, it was literally as cool outside as it was inside. Got into the car, thermometer said 91.

Reasonable price and vast variety. This place is good for lunch. I will have to try his place for dinner There is always something for everyone I am scheduled to go there for lunch tomorrow and I know I will not be disappointed I will post an update UPDATE — I was not disappointed neither was my mom. 6÷17÷2016 — the fried rice and noodle dishes were EXCELLENT. My mother thought some of the dishes were a little too salty today

YUCKYUCKYUCK! This place so so disgusting! I found dead flies(not the tiny ones but the Big ones you see near trash cans) in at least 3 of their dishes on the buffet. When I discreetly informed a restaurant staff cause I didn’t want to make a scene, the person just scooped the fly out with the tong there and walked away. No sorry or even pretending to change the food out. Also too much MSG that both my husband and I were knocked out after the meal. Surprised that they are still in business…

To me, it’s so hard to review a Chinese Buffet. Basically what you can is a ton of food options that will all be very average. Nothing is going to stand out, and sure you can eat all the sushi, sashimi, crab legs, and oysters so you«feel that you get your money’s worth,» but you always seem to end up with that icky feeling after you finish your meal. In general, Gold Hibachi does everything pretty decently, and I will say nothing I had was horrible. The food is not going to be high quality but you can stuff yourself with it as much as you want! The interior ambiance to me feels a bit crowded and there’s this weird bluish lighting to it that I would prefer that they do without. Service of course is not going to be great, but some of the bus boys do try to refill your drinks occasionally so that’s good. If you’re looking for a decently priced buffet that has a ton of options, come to Golden Hibachi! If you were looking for a great meal, then I’m pretty sure $ 20 can get you something better but in a smaller portion!

Last time i came here was a year ago. It was pretty good. But this time the quality has gone down. Food isnt served exactly hot. Sushi isnt exactly cool. Almost all food doesnt taste fresh. The food selection is of average, but not many sushi selection. The mochi and egg tart was pretty good. Today is sunday and the bill is $ 19. Wont come again.

Lunch was only $ 10 which was cool, the food is just average. No crab legs or honey walnut shrimp during lunch, really liked their sushi and seaweed salad, but those are the folder food that makes you fill faster. Has an ice cream machine which is a good way to end things.

This place seems to be the revolving door for Asian style seafood buffets. They did a massive décor upgrade inside and the fresh coat of paint plus additional walls does make it look spiffier than previously. The food selection was wide and varied. They had a dedicated sushi and sashimi selection that I braved and lived to tell about after eating a good chunk of salmon sashimi. I liked that they had roasted duck and mochi for dessert! There’s also a teppanyaki(«Mongolian grill») type selection which is nice. But all the food reeked of mediocrity so don’t go expecting much. We went for Friday night dinner(~$ 15.99 for adults; $ 1.20 per year for child) and the place never got terribly crowded. Service was pretty on top of it — they were constantly taking away for dirty dishes. I’m a little biased against buffets because I never feel like I eat enough to get my money’s worth!

Not bad for the price, a little dirty but not unusual for a Chinese buffet. this place is usually packed on lunch time, they have a sushi bar, salad bar, fried stuff, dumplings, soup, and desert. I saw flies on the salad, some of them were dead and the others were just tired from eating. I still managed to get a couple of scoops because have 8 years of military experience so this doesn’t usually stop me. they give you free refills on the drinks, so if you pace yourself out you can manage to eat more than the $ 10-$ 12 worth, which is what they charge for lunch. I think it’s $ 10 for lunch + $ 2 for the drink.

Pleasantly surprised after coming in twice during the last three weeks or so for family birthdays. Actually went to Gold Hibachi Buffet after it reopened following renovations a couple of years ago(used to be called Golden Coast), and left disappointed. Dreading having to come back for the family birthdays, but having a change of heart and will probably come back. Love the food offerings at Gold Hibachi. There’s a great selection of seafood items, from snow crab legs, to baked salmon, to fried tilapia, to fried/seasoned fried and shrimp. There’s also a good assortment of sushi and sashimi offerings. Moreover, there’s plenty of desserts to choose from, from little cakes to fresh fruit, to my favorite dessert offering, mochi ice cream! The place was organized and clean both times, which was totally different from the time I went a couple of years ago after it got renovated. Perhaps it helped that my family scheduled the birthday get-togethers right when the buffet opened on a weekend day. When I went a couple of years ago, it was for dinner on a very busy weekday. Definitely recommend going to Gold Hibachi right when it opens, but a little curious if the quality is the same at dinner time.

Got coupons for this place in the mail. The server didn’t recognize it, so I asked to speak to the manager. The manager told me that they weren’t going to honor the coupons. I understand there’s a check-in deal for a free soda. I wonder if they’d have honored that. Meanwhile, I’m not gonna bother.

Haven’t been here in over one year and I noticed positive changes. Food tasted fresher and was presented well. The lobby area looks refurbished and brighter. Can’t really beat the price here. They have one private room in the back. If you have a function but don’t get the room, you’ll be sharing with others who may share in your celebration. Pretty good variety of food. I left feeling full and satisfied.

I’ve been eating here for quite a number of years, even when it was called Gold Coast Buffet. The food here is quite improved since the recent update. Added was a mongolian grill. There is sushi, sashimi, and quite a number of hot and cold foods available. My favorite thus far here is the crawfish. I’m a sucker for crawfish and while it isn’t prepared in the usual cajun spices, the broth that the crawfish is prepared in is very tasty with a nice spicy kick to it. Service is a little slow. Upon arrival, there was no hostess and there was a server at the front reception area who didn’t bother to alert anyone nor acknowledge our arrival. I was on my second plate of food and our drinks had still not arrived at our table. One star deducted for slow service. Dirty plates were picked up in a timely manner. Prices are very fair for the quality of food that is offered. Also one of the few buffets I have been to that serve frog legs and snails. Not really my thing, but it is different and that counts for something.

I’ll be honest the food was ok, nothing really stood out in my opinion, the sweet corn, baked sweet potato and fried plantain was subpar tho I have to admit the steak was bomb Tho the service is pretty rude and not very welcoming, they kept rushing us to pay while we were still eating even when we assured them we’d pay right after. Told them to give us time to talk amongst ourselves to see how we would split it the bill since some of us were short but noooo they said to hurry and that we had to pay to continue eating like wtffff relax !!! If I had to come back I probably wouldn’t but that’s just me, also left them a fake 1,000,000 dollar bill as a tip

Some of the dishes are actually pretty decent! Mongolian BBQ didn’t have fresh meat and the noodles were oddly shaped, but overall a reasonable experience. Ham was okay, if you can get to it before they leave the sides out instead of a new ham. A lot of the food was watery – sauces, mashed potatoes. Salads weren’t fresh, but they weren’t limp either. The imination crab doesn’t make a pretense of tasting like crab at all. The problem is definitely the sushi – some of the fish was incredibly old, some of it was stale. Most meat was a bit dry and overcooked(or maybe just not all that fresh) but they have a good variety out and the taste isn’t bad for a buffet. Other than the extremely questionable fish, the overall experience was okay – be prepared for less than stellar service from this place, btw.

Love the Mongolian BBQ! You can leave a tip and my generous husband did. It was a cold day so I only ate the hot food. Had the clams and oysters, and snail. All good but the snail, rubbery. Wanted to try the sushi but read about a Unilocaler who got food poisoning and I just recovered from it so I avoided that. My husband did have some and he said it was fine and he did not get sick, so next time I’m totally diving into the sushi! Came at lunch and it was less than $ 30! Will return!

My parents and I always go to this buffet cuz it’s close to us. Price is about $ 15 per person all you can eat. It varies depending on the day and time. I always go there during dinner time so there is always crab there and even other seafood and sushi and sashimi. I always eat the crabs there because they are not salty. Sashimi even salmon are not that fresh, comparing to other buffets I have tried in Cali. Salmon sashimi be careful when u eat it cuz some has bones. The variety of sushi is not a lot, probably 5 – 6 different sushi. There is also steak there too– lots of fats less meat! Yikes! Also there is Mongolian bbq grill, which is basically you take whichever food(veggies and meat) u want and the chef there will cook it for you in front of you. Dessert part– they have mochi ice cream, which is the best part. They also have self serve ice cream and other cakes. Don’t get the cakes– they are so not fresh! Yuck! And the fruits there are so sour! Eck! The restaurant is huge! I believe it has two banquet rooms. So u can host big party here. Also the parking is huge too and free! This buffet is decent– quality is not as good as other buffets but the price is cheaper than others. I will come back with family and friends. I will prob host a party here too :)

I would say overall as far as buffets go this place should get 3 stars however with that being said my sister and I both got food poisoning from eating here so 1 star it is Beware of the sushi, we are almost 100% sure that it is what gave us food poisoning. The other family members who went with us didn’t eat the sushi and had no problems. Should have know that the sushi was bad quality. It seemed fishy. Anyways with that being said I did like how they had a wide verity of options, especially the Mongolian bbq. The little ones loved the popcorn hahaha.

I have been here 6 times in the past 2 years. The food is ok and so is the service. Parking is great and free. They have a good variety of food and desserts. It is across the street from Albertsons, Party City, Petsmart, and Taco Bell/Pizza Hut. It gets crowded at lunch time so I recommend arriving by 11:30. They even have a «to go» option so you can grab all the food you want, pay per«meat» or «seafood» option, and take it home.

I’m still thinking about this place and want to come back! Unfortunately, this was a gathering for friends and family for the loss of a loved one. I believe there were about 30 people total, but Gold Hibachi did a nice job replenishing drinks and seating us all in the back, banquet area. They were kind enough to also let us eat from lunch and dinner(we arrived right in between both). Baked mussels, salmon, baby octopus, crab legs, stuffed crab, shrimp, tepanyaki chicken, sushi rolls, dumplings… Basically, I ate everything… Oops! The quality was so good! A lot of family from out of state commented on how good everything tasted. Even the desserts were delicious. I opted for soft serve with strawberries. The only thing I’ll pass on next time would be the oysters, they were way too grainy. There’s plenty more to eat besides what I mentioned if you’re a vegetarian, for example, so rest assured this is a great buffet. Plenty of parking, right in the heart of Alhambra. Hopefully happier circumstances will bring us together to eat at this great establishment. Thanks staff for being so accommodating!

4 stars from me, The Reluctant Buffet Queen. I actually liked what I ate and there were a few dishes I haven’t seen too much of elsewhere. 3 from the Buffet King. I don’t know why he was so-so on this place. They had plenty of his favorites– squid, baby octopus, mussels. He ate 3 full plates! But he did say, that for the $ 7.99 lunch price, he’d be okay for return visits. This newest reincarnation is a big step-up from the other Asian buffets formerly inhabiting this building. Totally remodeled inside making for a nicer dining environment. A good-sized separate room which is good for large gatherings. The servers were really on their game this visit. The hubby loves it when his soda gets refilled right away without having to ask.(He tips better when that happens) Four items that I really liked: Their version of the Buddhist Delight veggie medley. I love wood ear fungus! Miso-tofu soup with plenty of seaweed and mild on the salt. Found purple taro buns on the same counter and couldn’t resist. And a first-time item for me that I fell in love with, a mildly sweet Snow fungus-pear cold dessert soup that was really refreshing. Yes, again with the fungus! I wish I could have this treat on a regular basis. It’s not often that I’m enthusiastic about buffets. I won’t have to be bribed or cajoled for a return visit here!

Was going to go the Souplantation next door for weekend lunch, but thought I’d check this place out first. Glad I did. Before viewing the fabulous spread of goodies I asked if MSG was used and they said«NO». Which is a requirement for me and my allergy to it. Didn’t seem to find any MSG allergy to the tasty items I tried some of which included; garlic prawns, sushi, duck, oysters & steamed crab — what’s with the lady who must have spent minutes picking out several large pieces of crab while the long line was getting even longer and impatient. Tuna sushi seemed to hide more rice than normal, so knock off 1 point for that. Waitresses were all very friendly and promptly cleared the table. They have some unique items you don’t otherwise find at buffets: Frog legs, sea snails, mochi ice cream, large baked oysters among others. Also offer take out too, sold by the pound for their«Buffet To Go»

We found a new buffet spot in Alhambra and it was seafood galore! Granted they had really awesome selections including dungeness crabs! What? That was amazing. Here are some pros and cons: Pros: As I mentioned DUNGENESSCRABS! UBERDELICIOUS. I think they only serve this for dinner though and the price during the week for dinner is $ 13.99. Really good seafood selection EXCEPT for their sushi bar. Sushi was ehh ok. Mochi ice cream. Really cool unique dessert selection compared to other asian seafood buffets. Cons: SERVICESTINKS here! Our buffet plates piled up, servers ignored us, the front hosts were on their phones and no attentive to the customers… I mean seriously? Did these servers not get trained? So when we asked for the check, the server had the nerve to stand over us waiting for the receipt back. REALLY? Who stands there watching you write the tip on the receipt. Would I come back? Maybe, but I will talk to the manager next time this happens since I have low tolerance for poor service. Just real talk :)

I ate here last night 9÷4÷15 for the first time. I found this place from Unilocal.Thank you fellow Unilocalers for the awesome reviews about this awesome place! Yes, I thought this was great all around. I was here for dinner, so they offered a few extra items with a higher price. I thought it was worth the $ 15 a person for dinner. Also, if you check-in on Unilocal, they will give you a free soda. The shrimp dish was amazing like the Unilocal reviews mentioned. The place was very quiet and calm. Everything I got was fine for the most part. Some negative things I experienced: The steamed dumplings were over cooked and too dry to eat; my server did not keep my drink refilled in an efficient manner; some dishes were a little cold; the Cheese flan desert was just horrible in taste; and some items were missed marked. Luckily I knew what duck and frog legs looked like. Overall I was impressed with this place. I will return in the near future. I would suggest this place.

I came here to eat with my family after my graduation. This place isn’t bad at all for the price. Friday-Sunday Seafood Dinner $ 14.99 and seniors get 10% off! They have fresh sushi and they’re constantly making new rolls, sushi. I am a huge fan of salmon and their salmon is extremely buttery and NOT fishy. I think with the amount of salmon I ate, I got my money’s worth! They also have king crab legs which are good, but a bit salty. Dessert: Their egg tarts are delicious as well, very light an fluffy without it being too sweet. Their coconut mochi dessert is so addicting! Service: Servers are extremely attentive. Overall: I’d come back here simply because of their variety of food for their affordable price!

Never really liked this place. I use to come here back when it was still Golden Coast Buffet, but even then, it wasn’t good. I came here on a Monday night around 7p.m. and was seated immediately. The venue is definitely a lot nicer then before and the selection for food has grown. They have sushi, salads, fruits, desserts, soup, hibachi, and many more. Although their selection is bigger, the quality of food is still not quite up to par. Yes, it is a buffet, but most of the food tastes as though it was frozen or canned. Not a fan, but I’d much rather come here than Zen Buffet or Hometown Buffet. Food may not be great, but still edible and some things are quite enjoyable. Such as the sashimi salmon, hot and sour soup, string beans, and fresh fruits. Service: Very difficult to wave down your waiter unless you’ve got the check in your hand. You definitely have to make yourself known if you want to catch them. Parking: They have their own lot so parking is not a problem. Food: Ehh, but hey, you get what you pay for. $ 13.99 for dinner isn’t bad. Tips: Desserts are not good besides the chocolate fountain. Be careful of their sashimi, some may have hair on it.

Came here on a Friday night and this place was packed! It was $ 15 a person, which wasn’t bad at all for the quality of the food you’re getting. Compared to many other Chinese buffets, this is actually on top of my list behind Vegas Seafood Buffet in Glendale. They have fresh salmon sashimi which were cut into huge chunks and tasted really fresh. Also, the seaweed salad was really good here. In general, the sushi were alright, nothing over the moon. Overall, there’s such a wide variety of food here which could satisfy anyone’s liking. Some things taste better than others, you just gotta try it yourself to see what you prefer! Our waiter was actually attentive considering it being so packed the night my family and I went. Poor lady was running all over the place. Major props goes out to her. ALSO! Don’t forget to check in because you get a free soda when you do! :)

For the price, this is an excellent All You Can Eat(AYCE) Asian Buffet, providing lots of variety and good quality. It’s located next to a hotel as well as a shopping plaza in Alhambra, neighboring a Costco too. Parking isn’t too bad, but when it’s busy can be challenging. During lunch(on a Fri @ 1:30pm) there was a 15 min or so wait. The place says it can seat 250 people, so I could imagine when at it’s busiest, the wait can be longer since the turnover on tables is probably slower as customers sit and eat and eat and eat, round 1, round 2, round 3, digest and wait around, round 4, and then deserts. The good thing about buffets is that they’re self-service, so once you get in and seated, you can hit the ground running and start eating right away. The Char Siu Bao, steamed white BBQ pork bun was excellent, better than most dim sum houses. The clam chowder was kinda watery and weak, but that is my only criticism of any dish. The fish maw and crab(«krab» the fake shelfish seafood blend) was good, as the broth as tasty and thick. They had sushi and sashimi, which was prepared freshly with an on staff chef making ‘em in front of you. They have a Mongolian styled wok to prepare fresh noodle dishes with the toppings of your choice. Good selection of fishes, talapia, salmon and white fish. Also beef and chicken as well as shrimp and shellfishes during lunch too. The soft serve machine has a MANGO flavored option in addition to Vanilla. The service was okay, they are fast and attentive clearing dishes off the tables. I’d rank this high based upon the fact you can eat whatever you want and as much as you want for under $ 10 for lunch and under $ 15 for dinner with variety, so if you go with a group of people, there’s bound to be something for everyone at a fair price. I’m from the South Bay Beach Cities, so this is on par with a few located here, but for the SGV, I don’t know if there’s any rivals or competition(there’s a Souplantation up the block from here). They charge for soda… my advice to AYCE places sometimes is, it’s sometimes more profitable to build the cost of the sodas into the price, since the cost of goods for sugar and carbonated water which will fill people up faster therefore make the eat less of the more expensive food could benefit the bottom line of keeping overhead down, and also having it as a self service station so customers help themselves(by nature then drinking even more) and alleviating pressure from the staff to provide individual refills. However, maybe the incremental profits from upselling a soda at 10% or so more to the cost of the buffet is a more profitable model for them.
