The pizza at Valentino’s is the best pizza in the area. There are great employees that work there, and they always treat customers with kindness and respect.

Best pizza in Alexandria! They’re always super fast and friendly and the food is amazing! The pizza is my favorite but we’ve tried everything and we’re always pleased!

Ordered a simple pepperoni pizza for delivery. The order was not correct and waited over an hour for the wrong pizza. The pizza arrived cold and was unable to get the pizza I ordered. The manager refused to refund my order even after calling and complaining. Did not realize it would be this difficult to order a single pepperoni pizza. Management was very rude and unhelpful. I will never order from them again and suggest finding another pizza place in town.

I have always driven by and not give it the time of day because of the location and the appearance. My bro and i stopped in last week and i was suprised. It was pretty cute inside and felt homey. I was greeted by a glass full of huge slices of pizza, it looked amazing. But i didnt like that fact that all of that pizza was out in the open. I guess when its ordered they pop it in the oven for you. I daw a fly land a few pizzas. The pizza that we ordered wqs FRESHQNDAMAZING! Beware, the prices are expensive and the portions are huge. Too much food for one person.

Really yummy NY-style pizza. Would definitely recommend. We got a 20″ half-meatatarian half-margarita pizza and of course the slices were huge but just delicious. The staff was really nice and inviting as well.

Excellent! Good Unilocal reviews led us here. We wanted some thin crust pizza and were blown away by taste and service. Pleasantly greated when we arrived, we asked a few questions and the staff really knew their pizzas. Good selection of standards and their own specials. We went for the meatatarian which includes slices of their handmade meatballs. The garden salad to split was generous. The pizza was huge and loaded when it arrived(see pic). Right off the freeway on Lil’ River Parkway/236(I-395 Exit 3). If we were local, this would be our go-to pizza place. A hidden gem.

I have been disappointed time and time again since moving down here when trying different pizza places. I am used to NY/NJ and Philly pizza and down here just doesn’t cut it. This was the far best I have had down here. The dough actually has good flavor, great size slices and a great variety of toppings. I will drive the extra 10 minutes from my home to get my pizza from here.

There pizza is good if not over priced, but i try to stray from the other chains to switch it up, I’ve been ordering the same pizza for 2 years but customer service has become so bad we won’t be back. We ordered the Hawaiian no ham, sub pepperoni, as we have for 2 years. The very rude guy on the phone said«that why you no order pepperoni pizza with pineapple», to which was replied«because it comes with bacon too», Him: «no it odes not», reply: «yes it does, we always order the same thing»; he leaves, comes back and just says, «ok, Hawaiian with no ham, add pepperoni». Well, we get a pizza with pepperoni and no pineapple, so we call to straighten it out. THEYARESENTSOMEONETOPICKUPTHEPIZZAANDREFUNDMYMONEY refusing to fix the mistake and replace the pizza with what i ordered because the menu ONTHEIRWEBSITE«is old and no longer honored». So, i guess continue to order if you want a surprise dish in front of you. Not sure where the current menu is, no longer care.

Terrible customer service! This is sad to say after being a loyal customer for 2 years. Our pizza delivery was wrong and the employee answering phones did not want to resolve issue. He decided the best option was to give a refund only if a delivery driver was to pick up the pizza and it was untouched. We agreed and they will never get my business again.

Little out of the way place in Alexandria with decent NY style pizza. Slices are big and there’s a pretty good variety of pie for you to sample

Usually a HUGE fan of this place. Let me preface by saying that. My biggest gripe is customer service. I called, an hour before closing, to make a very simple order: a small pep pizza and an order of mozz sticks. The I individual who answered the phone was clearly irritated and appeared to not want to take the order. After learning delivery was stopped for the night, I decided the pizza was worth making the drive to pick up so I proceeded in ordering. After further irritation from the individual taking my order, I decided to just turn down my desire for the food and take my business elsewhere, where I could receive better customer service. I get what it’s like to want to go home after a long day’s work but that shouldn’t be reflected in the customer service. Sucks(probably more so for me than them) that they lost such a loyal fan.

It’s a legit NYC style cheese slice, but in NYC proper, this would be the mediocre standard, not one of the better places the Big Apple has to offer. But the cheese slice is serviceable if it’s been too long since you been up there to get the real deal. The sauce and cheese have good flavor here. I would go back and order a whole pie with sausage next time. I didn’t see any appetizing subs on the menu, but was eyeballing some good looking cheesecake in the case. If you are conveniently near this place you should definitely check it out — I was driving by and stopped in. Glad I did. But if you are not near here, I wouldn’t bother making the trek out here to check it out. It’s not all that. It’s good, but don’t make a journey for it, you know? I have two great options walking distance from my house, so no need to go out of my way.

Do you enjoy terrible service with good pizza? Then this place is the spot. The pizza is really good, the entres are average. But the service is is just the worst. I get carry out all the time, because again the pizza is pretty good. But every time I forget and decide to sit down, I remember that this is not a real restaurant. I have to wave for service and been asked to pickup my own food at the counter. For a place with less than 15 tables this shouldn’t be an issue, but I don’t think management cares about overall customer satisfaction.

Great Sicilian pie! Wings were very very good. Juicy and cooked perfectly. Our server Lorenzo made the experience even better, especially because one of the guys in our party was really busting his chops. Great personality and played right along. Will be back before we head out of town.

Go here! We have tried and loved many different types of pizzas. The restaurant has a nice ambiance. You walk in to see a beautiful display of pizzas you can buy by the slice. It’s also nice to order your pizza, and have a beer while you wait. If anyone can tell us how the heck to leave this place, we would appreciate the tip! There’s no convenient way back on the turnpike(Duke st) we have discovered, especially during rush hour. We have considered parking in a convenient spot and ordering delivery to our car to avoid that. LOL. When traffic isn’t too busy, you can make a u-turn(or turnaround in a parking lot) on Beauregard, but that’s not always possible in the traffic. Still, sooooo worth it!

This place has really good pizza and service. Huge portions and the price is right. The spinach is chopped finely(frozen), and fresh would be better. That’s the only thing I think they could improve. People are really nice and we’ll be going back!

Decided to try this spot because of the reviews. I’m so glad I did. My father and I are HUGE pizza lovers. He was in town so I told him we would go here. We were going to order a whole pizza but once we saw those huge slices, we knew it would be too much. We agreed to order two slices each, then go back for more or the cannoli. I had the Valentino’s special and Maguerita pizza. My dad had the Vegetarian pizza and the Valentino’s special. Hands down, the Valentino’s special, is the BOMB! I love the three meat combo(pepperoni, meatball and sausage) with the mushrooms, black olives and overload of onions. This pizza is well layered and flavorful. The crust was okay. I’m a deep dish girl but I still enjoyed it. After the pizza, there was no room for cannoli. We spent about $ 21 for four slices and 2 sodas. A little pricey but well worth it. Don’t think you are going to get any fancy treatment here. The staff is friendly and the place looks decent. This is just a grab and eat spot. Not date worthy, but if you know someone who enjoys pizza they will love it!

Delicious pizzas in a casual environment — call me a fan! This place was hoppin’ when we dropped in on a Friday evening. The ordering process is a little bit confusing bc there were a ton of people up at the front either waiting for their to-go orders, placing orders, looking at the menu, and waiting for their dine-in orders all at the same time, but once we made it to the counter it was pretty smooth sailing. First, it’s important to note that the slices are HUUUUGE. We got 2 slices each but I could barely eat my second slice. I should’ve been a one and done. I got a slice of margarita and a slice of the baked ziti pizza(yes, pasta pizza, it’s real), and my husband got the buffalo chicken pizza and a slice o’ cheese. Dude, just that slice of plain ol’ cheese pizza gave me LIFE! It was righteous. Great sauce, good amount of cheese, crisp crust, yum. My margarita pizza was very good too, although it comes sauce-less so it didn’t pack quite as flavorful a punch as the cheese. The buffalo chicken pizza is delicious and creamy, and packs quite a bit of heat! I’ll definitely be back to try the barbecue chicken and the wings in the future. Tip: if you’re dining in ask specifically for a refillable soda otherwise you are paying almost as much for a one-time drink(no refill).

Yech! That was a quote from my 7-year old daughter and it echoed my feelings perfectly. I went out of my way to eat here because of all the great Unilocal reviews, lots of wonderful experiences eating pizza in New York, and loving the pizza served at Tony’s NY Pizza in Fairfax. On the outside, it doesn’t look that bad. A picturesque building with optional outside seating that could have been taken right from«Cheesy Italy Land» in Epcot. Then we went inside. Valentino’s was dirty and disorganised. The by-the-slice pies were unlabeled and the staff seemed unable to identify them when asked. It took the cashier almost five minutes to ring up a few slices and two sodas. Granted, part of that time was when he stopped to have a conversation with a co-worker so I guess shouldn’t complain. Even though they provide table service, in my case then chose to wave me over so I could pick up my order when it was ready. Perhaps they had sensed my disgruntlement and figured trying to offer even reasonable service at that point was a lost cause? And finally, the pizza, the reason for being there, their reason for being at all… The slices were large, I will give them that. So large that they draped over their paper plates and onto the trays, I wonder how often they wash those trays that our food was touching? Anyway… the pizza was a nearly tasteless mass. I could make out subtle flavors that might have been onion, possibly some green pepper, and meat from an undetermined animal. Nothing jumped out as fresh, tasty, or dare I say, delicious. This meal was merely an exercise in chewing and one which I never intend on repeating.

Felt like I was in NY! It’s the closest thing to being there. I would recommend it to anyone that’s looking to have a great and enjoyable meal.

I love Valentino’s Pizza!!! I had no idea they had such delicious pizza until my boyfriend who grew up here locally took me. He said he use to come here all the time and it’s been around for a while. Atmosphere & Service: It’s not the fanciest of places, but it’s much better than a hole in the wall pizza joint. They have free water for everyone on the side, a clean bathroom, and an outdoor seating area with plenty of space. It is it’s own stand alone place so there’s plenty of parking and space. Lighting is good and booths are comfy and clean. Everyone that works here are all very nice. They greet you with a smile and takes your order very quickly. The lady in front of me wanted a «hawaiian» pizza with pineapple and ham and that’s something they don’t typically do but they made her a slice especially for her. So it seems you can add ingredients to a plain pizza if you want. Food: I love their pizza-definitely my kind of stuff. My favorite is their Alla Vodka pizza with sauce and chicken… tastes just a penne alla vodka meal. The slices are very big! They also have a pasta pizza where it’s literally an entire bowl of penne pasta on top of a pizza. You get the bread and pasta! Another good one is their Papa something’s… it’s the square one with lots of tomatoes and cheese on it. The variety is very large(but it’s pretty meat based cuz I was looking for some veggies and couldn’t find many choices). They have BBQ chicken, sausage and ham, white sauce, etc-all sorts of stuff. They also have garlic knots. Mmmmm… Every time I go, I get 2 slices and I end up having leftovers for lunch the next day. They’re so delicious. I wish I don’t get full because I can eat that all day.

After several hours of packing and organizing in Del Ray I was heading home and I was hungry. As I turned from Little River Turnpike onto my cut through to Columbia Pike I made a quick decision and pulled into a Valentino’s parking spot. I had heard about this place from a few people but had never been and I decided today was the day. I walked in and was quickly mesmerized by the various gourmet pizza options. I was initially drawn to a veggie pizza with dried tomato pieces and feta but soon saw the BBQ chicken and Buffalo chicken. The BBQ chicken has alternating circles of BBQ and ranch sauces over chicken; it was beautiful. While I had thought I would get one piece and eat there I decided to grab a few and take them home on the pretense of sharing but let’s be honest, it was for the purely selfish reason of getting to try a couple opposed to just one. Because I was taking these to some folks who are a little less adventurous in the food arena I ended up selecting four pieces which included the BBQ chicken, the veggie I mentioned, a meat pizza(not sure which one), and a white cheese pizza topped with fried chunks of mac & cheese. They were all really good although my favorite was the BBQ chicken with the cheese in second(I mean come on there was fried mac & cheese on top). Hubby gave the meat and cheese both thumbs up. The veggie was good too, don’t want folks to think it wasn’t. When you get single slices they put them in the oven for a little while, I guess to get the flavors going and make sure they are warm. While I was waiting I chatted with one of the staff and watched a couple of regulars come in. Some folks had pre-ordered while others were grabbing a slice. The customers I saw were diverse and happy to there. There is not a lot of seating but I can see it being a place to grab a bite if you worked in the area and wanted a little break with good eats included. The four slices I mentioned cost just under $ 20 but they are pretty darn big pieces and I did pick the more complicated pieces. The menu has a lot of stuff besides pizza. I did notice a couple of subs being purchased. Thankfully I had paid before I saw the cannoli because those looked really good and I wanted one, didn’t need one but certainly wanted one. Perhaps next time after some Buffalo chicken pizza or another BBQ piece.

I found Valentinos’s when I first moved to the area 5 years ago. I was coming from NY so I was looking for a place that had that NY style pizza I loved. I can easily say Valentino’s is now my go to for any pizza. This review is for the food, I have never eaten at their restaurant as I always get everything to go. If you are looking for pizza on a weekend be prepared for a bit of wait, however my order has never taken longer than 45 minutes for pick up(that was during the«big football game» too). I have never had a bad pizza, but I have to be honest I rarely stray from my usual buffalo chicken pizza. Sometimes it can be a little greasy but what good pizza isn’t(that’s what napkins were made for). I always get their garlic knots and they are always great. Lots of garlic and not too greasy. The sauce that comes with the knots is absolutely delicious and perfectly balanced. I have sampled quite a bit of their menu, including salads and other entrees, and have never come across a dud. I would also recommend their cannoli too! If there are any chocolate left you should snatch them up! Sometimes employees get busy here and you could stand around waiting if you do not take the initiative to let them know why you are there(pick up or ordering in).

Decent pizza place, with no frills but tons of topping choices. It’s conveniently located right off Little River Turnpike in Alexandria and I recently got take-out from there. I ordered the small-sized Meat Worshippers pizza, which came with pepperoni, salami, ham, sausage, and bacon. Note that the small(14″) pizza is actually quite large and can probably feed 2 people! I saw a family come in and get a large and it was enormous! Probably biggest pizza box I’d ever seen. My fiancé and I both enjoyed our slices of pizza — they were full of flavor, albeit a bit too greasy. The pizzas are a bit overpriced, in my opinion. A «small» runs around $ 20, depending on what you order, and a medium and could be around or over $ 30, depending on what you get. I think that’s a bit much for pizza. Parking is decent — they gave their own lot, but I can imagine it getting crowded during peak times. Bottom Line: Delicious, but overly greasy pizza. Great options(and if you’re as carnivorous as we are, the Meat Worshipper pizza is a good choice), but a bit overpriced for what you’re getting. We certainly would visit again but it’s not our #1 choice for pizza in the area.
