Summation of my review: Food, 4 stars. Service, 0. I came here a few weeks ago, based on the good reviews Unilocal had to offer. I came in at a late lunch time(around 2:30 or 3), so naturally, they were empty. There was one guy behind the counter, who greeted us in a friendly enough way when we came in. Beyond that, we received no friendliness. I ordered a chicken shawarma pita pocket; after taking as slow as he could to cut the pita, the worker came back to the counter and pointed to the spreads and toppings in front of him, and asked«so what do you want?» Assuming he was putting everything in the pita first, and would shave the chicken in afterwards(like many places do), I started to list them. After I said the sauces, though, he walked away from me without a word, even though he knew I was still talking. He gave no indication that he needed to heat the chicken and the sauces together in a small oven, and would come back for my other toppings. While he stood around, waiting for my pita to heat, he could have begun my partner’s sandwich – instead, he decided to move as slowly as possible, using whatever lazy customer service he wanted. In total, it probably took about 15 minutes from us walking in for him to make our sandwiches, which is far too long for a place that advertises as being a quick lunch spot, particularly when there is NOONEELSE in the entire establishment. This, combined with his horrendously lazy and rude customer service(we received no «thank you» or «goodbye,» only grunts and one-word answers) made the experience totally unpleasant. The food was very good. Sadly, it was not good enough to make up for a worker who clearly couldn’t care about our business. I will not be back.

Best shawarma. I got the beef & lamb. My boyfriend got the chicken. We both loved it & even got rice pudding for dessert. Totally worth trying. Great price range too. As we were leaving they made fresh pitas.

I have eaten here several times and it’s always been fantastic. I recommend the sandwich. If you are watching what you eat still come here it’s not greasy at all.

I ordered the lamb/beef rice bowl. It was good, but the meat was dry. Luckily I had asked for extra sauces on the side, so that helped. Maybe it was the the time of day(around 12pm?). I would return though, maybe stick with the falafel this time!

Every time I go to NYC I have to get chicken and rice from a street cart. The food here is not as greasy but definitely satisfies the shawarma craving. They have lots of toppings to choose from, make sure you get lots of hummus and garlic. All of the staff is friendly and helpful. I’ve been twice and both times people were coming and going the whole time I was there.

The best way to start of this review is WOW!!! We have been looking for a good shawarma spot since we moved to this area and now we have it, Amazing! I had the beef/lamb shawarma with brown rice and wifey had the chicken, both were delicious! The pita bread was super tasty and the customer service was as well awesome, a great spot!

I would definitely give the food at Shawarma Guys 4 stars. I ordered the chicken shawarma pita, and it was delicious. I had hummus, baba ganoush, extra of the garlic sauce(stung my mouth but also totally worth it), olives, chick peas and couscous. The pita could have been a little more flavorful and little less soft, but overall the meal had great taste. I also ordered the baklava. It came with three pieces: a long piece and two small, round pieces. The long piece was a little dense and dry, but the smaller pieces were great. Where this place dropped down to 3 stars is the service. The guy that served my girlfriend and me was not friendly in the least. He said hi when we first walked in, but was flat and unresponsive after that. He asked my girlfriend what she wanted on her pita, and while she was telling him, he walked away, and she had to repeat her toppings to him when he came back. He didn’t say anything to me while I was paying except to ask me if it was for there or to-go. Even then, he didn’t say or do anything, like put the food on the dining-in trays. So, I am not sure why the question. After we finished dining, he walked away without the expected«Thank you» or «Enjoy your meal». When we finished eating and were walking out, he did not say thank you or goodbye. Mind you, the restaurant was empty; we were the only people eating in there. There had only been two other people who had ordered and taken their food to-go while we were there. He was not swamped with work and customers to interact with, so he could have easily mustered a simple thank you. He was obviously bored and would have preferred to continue standing around than do his job. I really dislike eating at places where the employees make me feel like I’m intruding on their time by ordering food. For that reason, I doubt I’ll be going back to Shawarma Guys considering how many other great shawarma places there are in the DMV. When the food at a place is good but does not stand far above the other«pretty good» places, the service is what will determine whether I return or not.

Wow! You guys are amazing but not perfect yet! The place just opened and that’s pretty normal but the good news that they are a few steps away from perfection! First I have to thank Ramy and all the team there! They are super friendly and they are very accurate and they appreciate the details and never give you stupid faces when you ask for special stuff! It’s the first place in the DMV area! To put the right toppings for Shawerma! I really appreciate those who give you more toppings options but at the end of the day, Shawerma can go with a few options of toppings A friendly notes to the restaurant, The lamb/beef was dry and I suggest that you need to put more fats on the top and between the Shawerma. Both chicken & beef should get less marinated. Just a little bit! :) Also I wish if you stay late on weekends! I recommend this place, it’s really good and I’m sure it’s gonna be better!

The business might not like this comparison, but this is the Chipotle-style of Mediterranean cuisine. You start off by selecting the protein you want, followed by the rice and toppings. It’s fresh and tasty alternative for the mainstream people whom enjoys(or enjoyed) the Chipotle brand. I purchased the Shawarma bowl with Chicken and it was quite tasty with all the extra condiments that were available. I added the following: –Hummus –Yogurt and Cucumber sauce –Garlic sauce –Pickled turnips –Banana peppers –Parsley –Chickpeas –Tomatoes –Lettuce The price was very reasonable for the portion size and the staff was very friendly. Their technology is more advanced, as they use an iPad and have the capability of emailing you deals, as opposed to a traditional register. Definitely a go-to lunch spot!

I love the fact that Shawarma Guys is family owned and operated. It definitely stands out in the Manchester Lakes shopping center, which is full of chain restaurants. Shawarma Guys offers a wide variety of appetizers such as: tabbouleh, fettoush, and falafel, to name a few. Their entrees come in the form of a pita, salad, or bowl and you can customize it however you like with their toppings. I opted for the chicken shawarma bowl with brown rice, baba ghannoush, feta cheese, sumac onions, olives, yogurt & cucumber sauce, garlic sauce, picked turnips, and parsley. I enjoyed the bowl a lot — everything tasted really fresh and wholesome. Their sauces are made in-house, which I appreciated. I will say that the baba ghannoush was very, very salty. It wasn’t a dealbreaker or anything, but I wish they had scaled back on the salt just a little. I can tell that Shawarma Guys is going to be a restaurant that Will C. and I frequent on a regular basis. Next time, I’ll be sure to try their baklava or mango lassi!

Fantastic and fresh! Lots of flavor going on. Much better than some other foods o recently tried in the local area. I would definitely go back. I got the chicken bowl and picked out all my toppings I wanted. I really like that they have a garlic topping option. It went well with the rice.

I’ve been to many Greek fast food joints but this place is different in a way because of their chipotle-like style. I like how you can choose whatever toppings you want for no extra cost. The pita bread is Bomb here also. I don’t Normally like this pita so this one is perfect. It’s located next to bungalows. I’ll have this place on repeat

So another chipotle-style restaurant has opened up and the food is similar to cava & pita pouch. So what’s so special about this place? The CHICKEN! The flavor of their chicken definitely beats out the other Mediterranean chains. I ordered two rice bowls; one with chicken and one with beef/lamb. $ 7.95 for a bowl which is a dollar cheaper than pita pouch and a few dollars cheaper than cava. I first tried the beef/lamb bowl which was average. Paired with the price I was ready to give this place a 4 star. Then I bit into the chicken bowl and my eyes lit up! Bump to a 5 star***** Definitely try their chicken rice bowl. Cheap & delicious!

I really enjoy this place! It’s definitely a welcome addition to the old and somewhat tired Manchester Lakes shopping center. The place itself is tiny, so you’ll be lucky to find a table. However, you can get your food to go(as I have), and the portions are humongous! You make your way towards the back, read the menu/see the ingredients, and customize your meal. The pita sandwiches are super-sized and the rice bowls are more like rice platters filled with yummy ingredients The meats are well-seasoned and cooked. Everything is at the right temperature, and it all tastes fresh. I’ve gotten a bowl with pretty much all toppings and the spicy tomato chutney. I liked everything together, but I wish there was more variety in the topping options — perhaps fresh cucumber or tomatoes. Secondly, some of the items are overly salty. Thirdly, the spicy tomato chutney isn’t really spicy. I’ve also had the mango lassi and the rice pudding. Both were delicious! The mango lassi had great tanginess and sweetness. The consistency was great. The rice pudding was more gelatinous than I was expecting, but the cinnamon flavor and sweetness were well-appreciated. Bottom line: this is a great spot for quick Mediterranean food that is filling and satisfying. The menu has decent variety of entrees/apps/dessert. The entire family will love it. The people working here are super nice too!

Shawarma Guys, oh how you win me over with your succulent, yet spicy shawama. It is almost as if I’ve traveled back to Istanbul for a taste of Mediterranean magic. With so many shawarma sandwich fillings such as tomatoes, onions, tzatziki yogurt sauce, hummus, and more, you can’t help but become the master of your own shawarma. And, Shawarma Guys, your bread is the perfect compliment to my meal. It was light, fresh, and fluffy. You offer a bread that far surpasses the stale, chewy pita bread that so many restaurants offer. I seriously can’t imagine my shawarma sandwich without it, and if I let my sandwich rest for awhile, your bread soaks up all that shawarma goodness… perfection. But it is your hummus, Shawarma Guys, that has captured my falafel-loving heart. Your hummus is so creamy and smooth that I want to say it is the hummus gold standard. I guess in a way I’m the Goldilocks of hummus, for some are just too watery while others are often nothing more than a constipated goo. No, Shawarma Guys, your hummus is just right

My husband and I were looking for an all you can eat kabob shop because he saw a sigh on the sidewalk. We drove around this shopping center to see if it was there, but we came across Shawarma guys. Since we were there already, I decided to check this place out. I got the bowl in which was decent. Didn’t provide a fair amount of meat(more rice than meat) and the sides were ok. The price for this bowl was average $ 8 for the bare mim things you get within the bowl. Don’t think I’d crave this often as I would rather go to a restaurant that will provide more options. This place was worth a try.

So everyone wanted shawarma and this place seemed good and so we went. First the owners are awesomely nice. They took very good care of us. We ordered the beef and chicken shawarma sandwiches which everyone loved. Best shawarma in MD/DC/VA area and I have had them all. The hummus was nuts. You might think hummus is easy. Its not. A little garlic, not too much. Pureed the perfect amount. The bread was equally awesome. The fatayer, imagine mini calzones filled with meat, cheese, or spinach were also top notch. Even the dessert was good and that is rarely the case. If you want shawarma go here. No one else is close. The rest is usually pan sautéed nonsense. Oh yea and the falafel. I don’t normally like falafel. I mean at all. But this one was light, crispy, and will really make you rethink what a falafel is supposed to be. Must try.
