My go-to spot for great Thai takeout after a long day. Food is delicious and the staff is super nice!

A great place to go for lunch; I had what other menus have listed as drunken noodles and my fiancé had the pad Thai(both noodle dishes were great but I liked his a tad more) and we split an order of spring rolls which were soo crispy and flavorful. We’ve come here a few times already and plan to keep coming back — great portion sizes and all dishes are fresh and steamy out of the kitchen.

I ordered take out on a random night when I didn’t feel like cooking. The green curry was delicious. Customer service was also great — my new go to over Mai Thai.

Interesting and difficult review because the food itself is quite good, but the service is terrible. Food(quality) — a solid four star Portion size — three star(not large, but adequate). Service — one star(terrible). Takes a long time to get the dish even when the restaurant is crowded, and longer to get the check. When asking for extra tea, I requested a larger teapot, because it could be 15 minutes until you see the waitress again, and asked for the check when receiving my dish to expedite things. So, averaging this out three stars is fair. Just be sure you have the time for lunch, and you will need close to an hour, 10 minutes to eat, and 50 minutes to wait.

This place is DOPE. Get the big noodle pad thai. It will make your brain explode. The mango sticky rice is also excellent. Friendly wait-staff.

Had the #55, Kae Pow(I believe). Perfect spiciness if you really like spicy — and bangin’ flavor! We’ve been talking about going back since we left!

Hands down the best Thai food in Alexandria. I usually get it delivered and order the chicken basil fried rice or the pad thai. Never dined in. Five stars for the amazing food!!! You’re missing out if you haven’t tried it.

I went here last night and was pretty impressed. We were out and about in the Old Town area and craved some Thai food. Rather than go to Mai Thai(no offense or criticism intended), we decided to stop here and try out their food. We got the curry puffs(delicious, savory, and satisfying), and the green curry fried rice with chicken and eggplant delight to share. The green curry lacked the flavor I was looking for, but the eggplant was on point and not soggy like at other places I’ve been to, but I also would’ve liked it to be a bit more spicy. We waited a while for our entrees to come, but that was due to the influx of guests coming in at the same time. If possible, I would request sitting at a table upstairs. That section seemed to get a little more attention than the tables downstairs. I could tell their kitchen was small, so that explained why it took a while for our food to come, but their waitstaff was so friendly about the delay that we obviously couldn’t fault them for it. If I’m back in that area and looking for a dinner spot, I will return here.

Walking by saw an empty table and ran in — glad we did. We were in a hurry and enjoyed dinner and out in no time before the meter expired. Wicked friendly staff, fast service, super cheap and delicious — Pad see ew and a panang curry. I have had such horrible Thai food around DC area that this to me is a find. They seemed to do a big take out service too, so must be popular with the locals.

The Thai fried rice was average the chicken & broccoli was ok at best the food may have taste better if the server was friendly my brother asked for garlic sause on the side she stated that thai doesn’t use garlic sause never offering another choice we weren’t asked if we wanted drinks she never smiled nor did she respond to our numerous thank yous she went back downstairs didn’t return we were the only table upstairs so she just abandoned us no desert offers and we had to go down stairs to request a bill then when the other server gave us the bill she told her to add a coke to the bill as she forgot to put it on… we will never return to this restaurant we are from Philadelphia home of some of the best restaurants and they can’t hold a candle to Tamarinds South Street… if you decide to go be sure to avoid the one with the Bart Simpson haircut

My favorite Thai place in my neighborhood, food is yummy and price is very reasonable. Love their chicken satay, drunken noodle and Thai fried rice.

This is my go-to place for Thai delivery in my neighborhood. The food is generally well executed, fresh, and they make it spicy when it says it’s spicy(a bit complaint for me at many places). Plus, they will dial-up the spicy if you really like it hot. Favorite dishes include: Apps: the Chicken Curry Puffs and Sleepy Shrimp Salad: Papaya Salad and Larb Gai Soup: Tom Kar and Tom Yum Entrees: Pad Thai, Wild Pork, Kapow, Gang Ped Yang, Kea Mow Only a few minor complaints — dumplings taste like they are straight out of a box of pre-made/frozen(Korean Mandu), Pad Thai is sometimes served spicy(bad for my wife) though it is supposed to be mild. My order has been delivered wrong a few times(though usually in my favor with a more expensive appetizer).

Having just arrived in town and not had lunch I was hungry and wanted something good to eat. Checked out Unilocal and came across this place which was a short walk from my hotel. To say it is small is probably an understatement, but then being from Houston I am not so accustomed to quaint«old town» sized restaurants. I was cheerfully greeted and promptly seated at around 6:20PM on a Sunday afternoon. I was in the 3-table downstairs area and there is an upstairs seating area as well although I have no idea how many tables it has. The menu looked to be quite comprehensive and selection were a bit challenging since all choices looked good. I settled on the Thai Dumplings, Tom Kar soup, and Sam Phao Seafood with rice. For dessert I had fried bananas with honey. All the dishes were excellent — freshly prepared and seasoned spot on. Delicious. I was stuffed when done and a good thing too since the bill was a bit more than I was accustomed to paying, but not unreasonable. All in all — great food, decent ambience, friendly and attentive staff. Well recommended.

First time eating Thai food with my family and we were all very happy with the food, portions, and prices. Our server was very nice and the food came out pretty quickly. There’s all sorts of yummy dishes on the menu from noodles to rice to curries in addition to vegetarian dishes. We don’t eat seafood but there were plenty of chicken and vegetable dishes to choose from. We left very satisfied, highly recommended.

Great food! Good prices! But small portions. I got the ginger broccoli with beef! Just wish there was more of it. Don’t expect any leftovers. But the $ 11 price tag was great for the area. Sort of a weird casual atmosphere but would absolutely go back for the food! I just went visiting Alexandria with a friend.

Delicious food, reasonable prices, friendly service. I got the chicken rama, and finally remembered to ask how the spice levels work. I usually forget that. I got exactly the level I wanted, hot but not painful. I wish I had reason to be in Alexandria more often but instead I’ll tell all my friends.

Ive been coming here for over 3 years, the quality of the food has remained the same(which has been excellent from day one) and it is very authentic. This in my opinion is the best place in the city to get Thai. From Pad Thai to Kuakai Located on King Street between Patrick and Henry, give it a try for sure. The staff is very friendly and make for a pleasurable experience. Great spot for nice Saturday and Sunday lunch.

Friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Attentive and knowledge service staff. Food a bit pricey for the ambiance, seems to fit the prices of the area, but overall good.
