I have nothing more to say on the store that I didn’t say in my earlier review other than the fact I got something different so I’ll get to it…

Clam Strips
What Is It: As the name would suggest you get a good sampling of the menu. In it is a piece of fried fish, a chicken plank, 3 big fried shrimp, some little popcorn shrimp, 2 hushpuppies, and 2 sides which I got fries and corn. Clam strips are well strips of clam.
Presentation: Not the best really as everything is just kind of thrown on the plate. At least it was all the beautiful LJS gold colour on the food.

Taste: As I’ve said before about LJS everything tastes very similar. That being said it was all delicious. It was all piping hot. The fish is delicious with the tartar sauce, the chicken is great dipped in their Thai red sweet and sour type sauce, and the shrimps are great with cocktail sauce. The corn and hushpuppies are legendary as I’ve said before and the fries are middle of the road. The clam strips were ok and tastes marginally different than everything else (you can taste the clam flavour). All in all a good, filling meal of unhealthy fried food.

I give this place 3 stars for a couple of reasons. One: they have a nasty tendency to be slow as molasses and that’s even when the restaurant is almost totally dead inside too. The slowness factor goes even worse in direct relation to the busier that it gets in here.
Two: I guess that nobody in management here has taught the staff to be careful about what the staff says in the front of the store, where the customers can clearly hear the staff. I just overheard the staff whining about something related to working here. Really, people?
Outside of these two issues, the food is acceptable and the cold slaw is off the chain in here. I could make a great meal out of these guys’ cold slaw and other food any day of the week and enjoy it.
