Sunny and the ladies do an excellent job! The salon is sparkling clean and peaceful. I always enjoy my experience and leave happy and relaxed.

Always Sunny… a mainstay in Old Town for over 10 years. I called for an appointment this morning, got in for a brow wax this afternoon. I’m new to Old Town and just discovered this place. Very pleasant visit. I will be back. Also, might be back soon with Hubby to get a His and Hers pedicure.

Went with a friend who is pregnant and something for us to do together before she delivers on Friday(!) Sunny did her pedi and one of the other employees did mine. Yes, it’s a bit pricy($ 45) for a pedi, but A– it is Old Town and B– they really spend a long time on pampering. We were in there for over an hour(and we were taken in right away) and the leg massage that accompanies the pedi is great! I might not go back for a routine-every-three-week-pedi… But I would for a special occasion! :)

This has become my go-to nail salon in Old Town. The staff is always friendly, offering a cup of tea, etc., and remember my name even though I’m generally a sporadic walk-in. It’s a funny-shaped space, a bit drafty in the winter, but bright and clean, with a good color selection, massage chairs, and a surprisingly eclectic magazine collection(Saveur in addition to fashion & gossip mags). Is it the cheapest place around? No. But it’s not fancy-spa expensive, and far above other non-spa places in the area, which tend to be hole-in-the-wall gross, rather than hidden gems. I always leave«Always Sunny» happy, with a nice-looking mani that has above-average staying power on my clumsy hands and a pedi that has smoothed out my hard-walking feet. And that makes it worth it to me. Now that my schedule is busier, I’m going have to give up my spontaneous walk-in habit(not rec on weekends, which are busy) and become an appointment-making regular.

Love this place! I was«bad» and didn’t go back in for almost a month after my first visit because my schedule got too hectic. As soon as I walked in, even with as busy as they were, all of them remembered my name and were so welcoming! I promise I won’t wait a month again!

They don’t use fresh tools on each customer. $ 40 shellac manicures $ 12 eyebrow waxes Refreshments are not offered. The inside of the studio is set up weirdly. The front desk is actually in the second room, not the first. There are no signs about this and the employees say nothing. It’s strange. The place was full of snooty Old Town moms who couldn’t crack a smile and one complained about her daughter being too big(she wasn’t, and she was only six). Ugh. The manicure was too expensive for what I received. Nothing to drink, no clean tools(!) for my manicure(should’ve left when I realized this but we were half way through), and the dead skin on the sides of my nails wasn’t removed. This is the first time in all of my nail salon experiences that this hasn’t been done. When I asked for it to be done, she looked at my strangely and said I didn’t need it. Yes I do… every time. Also, the gel is uneven on the sides of a few nails. I had to do extra eyebrow plucking when I got home. The owner, Sunny, did my nails and although she was very nice, I felt unsatisfied when I left and wouldn’t go back.

I walked in for a manicure w/o an appointment. My tech was super nice and funny! The polishes are nicely organized by brand and color. They use good quality polish. It is bright yellow and had opera playing, which was nice. However, 22 dollars plus tip for a regular manicure is more like a full-day spa price, but here it is w/o the perks(no tea, fruit, steam room or something extra like a neck massage that I noticed). I also did not see the tools sitting in sanitizing liquid or the taking out new packets. Hopefully I missed that only bc I was chatting. I would try it again.

I got a pedicure on Saturday from Okim at Always Sunny Nails, and I love how it turned out! I’m fairly picky about my nails(and as such usually do them myself), but Okim listened to exactly how I wanted them– not too short or too long, and not too square or too round– and did a great job. One issue I always have when getting my nails or hair done is the awkward(at least for me) small talk, but Okim did a great job of reading me and left me to relax with minimal conversation. I got there early enough to see her finishing with another client and they were talking a lot, so if you’re a talker she seems adept at that too :) In addition to the great pedicure, they were able to fit me in with about ten minutes notice and no appointment. The price was a little steep($ 43 for pedi with foot/leg treatments and massage), but I would definitely come back again to treat myself.

Came here on a whim on a Friday afternoon. Salon was nice and quiet, and the girl who did my pedicure was nice. However, it was not at all worth $ 48 for a regular french pedicure. I normally pay $ 30 – 35 so I thought it was ridiculous to charge that much for nothing special. Definitely will not be returning.

This is the most delightful mani-pedi I have had in ages. Sunny also waxed my brows, and she did a fabulous job. This place is a little off the beaten path, but so worth it. I’ll be back!

During a visit to my sister. We had side-by-side pedis. They did a very nice job and was very careful with my touchy toes. Plan to get my sister a gift card for x-mas so she can continue to enjoy Sunny“s

This is lovely little spot to get a mani/pedi. The salon itself is very well-ventilated and bright, with lots of sunshine and windows. I strolled in on a day off and had a very thorough pedicure. They let me bring my yorkie with me, who sat on my lap the whole time, instead of making me leave him outside or in his travel case, which I really appreciated. The price was reasonable and I appreciated the clean and fresh vibe of the place. Since my pedicure took close to and hour and a half, this probably isn’t the place I’ll be coming on a busy weeknight. But I’m glad to know it’s there, so if I’m ever in the nieghborhood again I will come by.

A friend and I went to Always Sunny Nails for a manicure on a rainy Saturday. It was the first time, either of us have been. We were basically the only customers. The manicure itself is not great, she rushed, despite no other clients waiting, and I thought it was way overpriced. To top it all off, the polish peeled off nearly all of my nails two days later. Will not go back.

I was fortunate enough to choose Sunny’s to have a mani/pedi while I was visiting Old Town. Sunny and Cindy were both super attentive and professional. Sunny even knew what an off-white french manicure was, a service I haven’t been able to find outside of San Francisco. If you like your nails short, but want a classic professional look, I’d reccommend an off-white french manicure. Cindy’s massage technique was amazing, and i about melted in my chair. By the time these two were through, I was happy, relaxed and my hands and feet looked amazing! It was like a mini spa day treat! The manicure lasted almost 2 weeks, and I’m very hard on my hands. The pedicure lasted even longer, despite my wearing close-toed shoes. If I lived in Alexandria, I’d be sure to get my nails done here regularly, and I’d strongly recommend at least the nail services to friends and co-workers.

I had a pedicure done by Cindy yesterday and it was wonderful! She was very meticulous and took her time. The massage was the best pedicure massage I have had yet. Sunny was there and said hello to me. Both women were very sweet, laid back and friendly. My feet and toes left looking and feeling fantastic! I am very happy to have found this place!

For me, there are two types of manicure experiences: a day at the spa with friends, or the get-me-in-and-out, I’m-in-a-hurry days. For me, it is usually the latter. I just want my nails to look nicely manicured and polished, and if I could do it myself while multitasking(ie driving), I would. Forget the lotion hand massage and the wax dip — just give a quick shape, trim and throw some color on. I stumbled upon Always Sunny in Alexandria, while cutting through en route to DC. Small storefront on N Lee which only offers metered street parking. The salon is clean, but very small, and I’d imagine on a Saturday morning you’ll be waiting for awhile if you’re a walk-in. Being a Wednesday, one of the three girls on staff took me ASAP. Seems like the other two ladies were regulars, and a few phone calls came in while I was there with other regulars setting appointments. Just a suggestion… All in all — the manicure was very nice. The manicurist was extremely meticulous, and I did get a great manicure. Not as fast as I hoped I would be in and out of there, but for $ 22, I figured I’d force myself to sit still a little longer and enjoy the hand massage, despite watching the minute hand on my watch.
