Don’t go to this place. Unethical. They allow Armando Booting company to boot my car because I went through the front door to look for my family who came separately. I stepped off their property for 5 minutes before ordering. Show them my receipt that my family had ordered 5 minutes before the time they booted. Refused to remove boot without $ 75. Called the tow truck on me while me and my family were inside pita pit and was going to tow!!! Worse business ever!

I would give zero stars if that was an option. I go there fairly often being a UNM student, and the food is pretty good… but no joke, the last two times I’ve gone some tow company is booting customers’ rides & shaking them down right in the parking lot. Quite a racket & horrible for business I assume. Goodbye veggie pitas & Mango Tango, seeing people being mistreated makes me lose my appetite.

I wouldn’t recommend this place, they literally just put a boot on one of their own customers vehicles.

On March 8, 2015 at approximately 10:15 pm. An employee was dumping trash as I parked. I got out and we entered the store at the same time. As I ordered, the employee that took out the trash grabbed gloves and prepared my pita, but the employee never washed his hands after dumping the trash. Potentially liability! Money wasted.

I love this place! Anytime I’m working late at the hospital nearby it is just what I need to make it through the rest of my shift. I love that there are so many options at any time of day, and everything I’ve ever had is super great and flavorful.

Food is always good and made fresh. The choices of what you can have in your pita is really good. Staff is friendly and courteous. Warmer months it is nice to sit outside.

Just another(subway) sandwich shop with a twist. The customer service is horrible! The ingredients suck… The guys who work there act as if you’ve come to pull their teeth out. They are not at all friendly, they don’t smile and they act is if you’re not welcome(but I’m sure if I was a cute girl it’d be a different story all together) I will never go back to this place. Your customers are what keep your business going… maybe you should treat them better(talk, smile, ACT like you want to be there) The only thing I want to go back for is to smash the windows out. Super unfriendly, and just short of being racist. It’s like you died and woke up on the wrong side of Denver… Thumbs way down…

I’ve eaten here many times and I’ve liked what I’ve had. Today, however, I ordered the steak and it was SO tough and chewy and gristly that it could not be eaten. Extremely disappointed.

Don’t order a drink, check the coke machine to make sure it’s stocked. Otherwise you’ll have to pick between coke… and well, coke.

They deliver till 3 am, and provide a healthy, and freshly prepared alternative to typical late night options such as fast food. I’ve never been unsatisfied with the service or food! A hidden gem in the student ghetto! Besos Pita Pit!

It was just okay. I got the classic gyro. Maybe it was the blandish seasoning. IDK. I don’t know why people are saying its inexpensive though. I could get a meal at subway for 6 bucks instead of the 10something I paid here. The staff was really nice though.

very good food, but very rude staff. the woman(did not get her name, she wore glasses and a hat, had colored hair and tattoos on her arm) that took our order and made our pitas was yelling at us the whole time! she was insulting the manager of the store for messing up the work schedules, and was grunting at us while we were deciding — I hope the management fire her right away.

When I was in college, at UNM, places like the Pita Pit landed four stars in my book, maybe even five. I simply lived off of this kind of food, easy to grab to-go, sustenance between classes and rehearsals and whatever else kept me running around. I suppose I would’ve docked ‘em a star for the price point being a tad higher than the local franchise options, but I still would’ve swallowed the cost differential because A) it’s comparatively healthy and local and B) did I really care about my student loans? Not that much. I wish Pita Pit was around back in the day and I’m betting this is an absolute go-to for the student community in these parts. It’s pretty darn good. Overall I enjoyed my pocket o’ veggies and meats. I forget exactly what it was called, something like the New Mexico Local, with chile and cheddar and steak. I added every veggie I could get and the thing was insanely stuffed, it started falling apart just minutes after my first bite. I looked around for a fork but couldn’t find one, and it was the lunch hour so I decided to just go Caveman and shove the pieces in my mouth by hand. I liked it. I wasn’t thrilled about the drink selection, it was one of those machines that delivers like, millions of sodas at the touch of several buttons. I’m an iced tea dude(I wasn’t in college), so this was my very first interaction with the Soda Monster. I think the healthy eats deserve some healthy drink options. That’s my vote.

While the last couple times I’ve been back the falafel has been a bit greasy, overall it’s one of the best places in town to get fast food style Mediterranean food! The tsatsiki is killer, and the staff are usually happy to make it right I’d something is incorrect. It’s certainly worth the money!

Tried to redeem the offer for a free cookie and the idiot with shaggy hair and glasses behind the counter just said«uhh, uhh I don’t know if we take that.» Cool well take your cookie and shove it. I’ll never be back and I’ll write the headquarters to let them now how poorly trained their staff at the Albuquerque location are.

Great location, staff, and PITAS!!! Atmosphere is semi hip with just the right amount of professionalism. Store is clean and music selection on point. I love the gyro and the local, can’t beat free delivery!

I really love this place. I do, but almost every time I come in the person who makes my pita is fresh off a smoke break. Like someone took my order and then two people come in from their smoke break to make pita’s for the line that has grown. The guacamole doesn’t cost anything extra and the people are usually friendly. They are open late and deliver as well.

I was intrigued by their vegetarian options and tried the falafel. The falafel nuggets themselves are pretty dense, salty, and a little gritty. They are pre-fried and reheated on a flattop grill(where the meat is also heated, so not totally vegetarian… oh well). The veggie selection is alright – comparable to Subway – but when I went(dinnertime on a weekday) the veggies were mostly wilted and not in great condition. There were 4+ employees in the nearly empty restaurant, but somehow the veggie counter was messy and littered with dropped leaves and etc. The employees seemed spacey and cussed a lot, just in the couple of minutes I was there to get my takeout order! I know it’s a university joint but jeez, have some professionalism. I do like the way they roll the pita into a cylinder to make it easier to eat, like a burrito. Overall, though, you’d be better off walking over to Jimmy John’s or even McDonald’s. The Pit isn’t tasty or healthy enough to justify the higher prices and depressing atmosphere.
