Meckler Pediatric Dentistry

We recently moved to ABQ, and a friend recommended Meckler Dentistry. While the staff up front are fine, and there is a nice play area, the actual dentistry was not what I’m looking for. The cleaning area is one big open room, and while that’s not a big deal, they finished the cleanings in less than 5 minutes and only used the electric brushes and flossed. It didn’t seem like it was enough time to get every tooth, and they didn’t do any other plaque removal or spend time doing an in-​depth examination of the teeth that I could see. The exam by Dr. Gary was also super fast and didn’t look complete – I didn’t see him do the oral cancer exams. We’ll be looking for another dental office that’s more focused on doing what we are used to.
Also, I do want to mention that they seem to have a big focus on orthodontics, and even when I mentioned that I wasn’t interested (my kids are super young), they insisted on talking to me about it, as if I didn’t have a choice and honestly, it kinda creeped me out.

Very highly recommended. Dr. Gary is great with my kids, even my 12 year old who has autism and so can be very difficult to examine because of multiple sensitivities. He’s not quick to want to over treat a condition… works with you on a watchful waiting stance if he feels it’s for the best overall.

We recently started using Dr Gary Meckler as our childrens dentist when we moved to Albuquerque in June 2014 upon the recommendation of friends.
I have 3 children age 8 (twins) and 23months old and all 3 of them really like Dr Meckler. Unfortunately due to a condition my twins were born with on there enamel they have had to have crowns fitted on all of there molars and Dr Gary has been great he is reassuring to both my self and the children and accommodating I really cant say enough good things about the experiences my children have had so far.
The front staff are wonderful you are greeted with a smile and they do there best to try and accomodate your schedule while booking appointments.
I highly recommend Dr Gary and his staff for any dental needs your child may have.
