Food was excellent! Fresh cut potatoes and grass fed ground beef. Veggies were fresh and crisp on the burger. Buns are really fresh an tasty. I gave four stars because the prices were a little high. An order of fries was big enough to share. Sodas are 1.89 but with free refills.

The actual burger was good… The rest of the program needs help. It was a later lunch, around 1:30, and the store was pretty empty. After we ordered, we found that three of the eight soda dispensers were out of order… By the time we filled our cups, two more choices ran out. Our drink options quickly were limited to the three reject flavors that no one else wanted. It seemed like the food took a long time to cook, but it wasn’t excessive. Our food was brought to our table, but we were informed that the fries weren’t cooked yet. Our table was 90% finished with the burgers when the trays of fries arrived. With a few changes in the attention to details this could easily become a 5 star joint.

I went at 11:30 on a Friday and the place was deserted — nobody else there, wasn’t even sure it was open. My brother said he had been once before during dinner(5:30 or so) and it was similarly deserted. Not a good sign. It’s also not a great sign in my opinion how they do the pricing. Everything is separate, and you can easily rack up several extra bucks of charges by adding cheese, toppings, and sides. I’d prefer the base price to be more expensive if it at least meant cheese was included. When we entered, the place smelled kind of weird and was creepily empty with loud blaring TV in the background and cooks standing around looking at us. We ordered, then my mom tried to use a coupon she had gotten through email and they hassled her about it. Eventually they let her use it after the manager called some 1 – 800 number to check on the coupon. After paying, my mom noticed the bill still seemed too high, and they didn’t give her a itemized receipt, so she went back up and eventually found out they had charged us for three drinks even though we ordered water. They refunded her, but someone not as frugal/watchful as my mom would never have caught that. As for the food: — Sweet potato fries: good texture when fresh, but no seasoning on the fries at all. Perhaps this is why there were weird bottles of salt on the tables? — Onion rings: Good, but not exceptional, and pricey(I got 5 rings for $ 3 – 4, and two of them were really small). — New Mexican Cheeseburger: the patty was good, and I don’t mind that it was thinner than some places serve. The green chile and cheese on the patty were good. The bun was a total mess that was already soggy and falling apart by the time I got the burger, and the chipotle sauce was bitter and unnecessary. I ate the last half of the burger with a fork and discarded the bun because it didn’t add anything and was soaked in nasty chipotle sauce. There are so many better burger places in Albuquerque. Many of them, like Rex’s, are much cheaper for what you get, and even the more expensive places will deliver a better product than Burger Rush. I doubt I’ll ever be back.

Locally sourced ingredients? Wonderful. Organic, environmentally friendly ingredients? I applaud you. An effort to provide interesting, gourmet toppings? Great. Now how about making a burger that tastes good enough to warrant the ten dollar price tag? I love that Burger Rush is committed to lessening the impact their food has on the environment. But if you’re going to use organic ingredients, I want to be able to tell that they’re organic when I eat them. I want to taste the difference and not just feel it on the old billfold. Grass fed beef? I should notice that. At ten bucks a burger, Burger Rush is setting the bar pretty high for themselves, and ultimately, I don’t think they’re worth it. Despite touting themselves as a gourmet burger joint, these burgers are uninspired and only average. Aside from the option to add an egg, your topping choices are painfully standard. That, in itself, wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing, but for this kind of money, I do not want shredded iceberg lettuce, mealy tomatoes, and American cheese. I want something interesting and I want something fresh. The patties themselves are pretty good, but I can think of quite a few cheaper places I’d rather go for a hamburger. Plus, they are disappointingly small. Even the double is not much of a challenge, even with a basketful of their unexceptional fries. I like the concept, but Burger Rush’s execution is pretty underwhelming. Had this been a divey hole in the wall with low end prices, I might be more forgiving. As it is, there’s no excuse for grass-fed beef to taste this mediocre, and no reason for a 10 dollar gourmet burger to be this boring.

My husband and I were disappointed in our experience at Burger Rush. The person working the register did not appear to be familiar with their menu and couldn’t answer specific questions about the food. I ordered the Evolve Burger, and found it to be lacking in flavor and size. The patty could not have weighed more than 2 oz and the bun was very dense and flavorless. My husband received a patty melt after ordering something else, but decided to save the kitchen any trouble and ate the sandwich anyway. He only ate half of the sandwich because it had no flavor and was exceptionally greasy. Sorry, but we won’t be back.

What a mess. Tried to have dinner with my son. There were three tables, including us, waiting for food. Admittedly, one had eight people, but the others were two tops. They managed to get every order wrong. My son ordered a cheeseburger with a few toppings on wheat. They brought him someone else’s burger, none of the same toppings and not even on wheat! I ordered an egg and bacon cheeseburger. They got my topping right but forgot the egg and bacon. When I took it back, I was informed they were out of eggs. They thought they could fix the bacon. The second time they brought it to me, the bacon was RAW. Literally. So I sent it back. When they brought it the third time, the bacon was crispy. My fries were ice cold since they didn’t bother to replace those. I received an apology, nothing else. Folks, there are a 100 burger joints in this area. Visit any of them for a better experience.

Not impressed. Green and black color scheme was not particularly attractive. Food was a damn mess. Ordered one of their predesigned burgers(southwest, I think?) because I was in a hurry. No matter how I tried to eat the thing, it was a total mess. The burger was obviously not rested, and soaked through the(actually rather tasteless and dry) bun, puncturing the bottom before I could finish eating it. The burger itself pretty much just tasted like beef with green chilli. The beef itself was good, but with such a miserable bun and sloppy preparation, it seems like kind of a waste. My friend ordered something phenomenally plain and remarked that it was«adequate,» which is his equivalent of «fair.» I tried to look up what I ordered online, but the menu on their website is incomplete and doesn’t show any of the predesigned options. Just go somewhere else. This place isn’t worth your time.

Three of us had lunch today at Burger Rush. The burger was thin and over cooked. Very dry. Almost the same as 5 brothers down the street. The owner Tony said he guarantees his burger or your money back. I pointed out that my burger was dry and over cooked. Tony did not offer me the refund he promised. He wanted to get me another. I said no thanks. If you want a really good burger, skip this place and go to the Holy Cow on Central near I 25. Thanks for reading, The Bike Chaplain

Decent burger but in comparison to other gourmet burger joints in ABQ it is in the middle of the pack. The service was friendly and quick but it does not make up for a burger that really doesn’t live up to the word«gourmet». If I am going to shell out +$ 10 I better walk out feeling fully satisfied and not thinking«was that worth the money». Sad to say, it was not worth it.

«So, are you guys a franchise?» «What? Oh, yes! We’re going to be!» «…You’re going to be?» «In this city, yes. This is only our second location, but there will be many more, don’t worry!» Dude didn’t know he was talkin’ to a Unilocaler. After he said«yes» he might’ve just as well said«Meow meow, meow meow meow,» because I wasn’t listenin’. I love Wes T’s post, this place is just above three stars, but doesn’t hit four. The toppings were generally worthy of high marks, but the burger was another story. Funny how so many«gourmet» burger shops offer a double-burger option. Maybe they believe they need to compete with fast food, but serving up two gourmet patties ain’t the right approach. For Burger Rush, it’s clear that the solution were single patties that barely matched BK in breadth, or substance. Greasy experience, which wasn’t a bad thing. And just sub-par of 4 stars. Meow.

I’ve driven past this place since they put up a sign they were opening since I love a good burger. Needless to say I was extremely underwhelmed. We went in around noon today(Sunday). There were a few tables full of people, so not packed but enough for me to think that this place gets a good steady stream of business. We ordered our food, both burgers. We sat down and waited for our number to be called. As soon as we sat down number 27 was called(we were 31). So we weren’t that far behind. It took us almost 30 minutes to get our food. This is highly unacceptable for a place that just does burgers. I can go to a waited table establishment and get my food quicker than that. So, regardless of the extremely SLOW time to actually get our food we were hoping that the burgers were really good since the place was packed by the time we got our food. Well, the burger was average. Nothing special. Not juicy, not perfectly cooked, not anything. I’ve done better with a frozen patty on my George Forman grill at home. Which quite frankly I could have done quicker. My companions burger was lukewarm at best(but cooked thoroughly). Mine was probably slightly warmer but not right off the grill hot, which I was hoping I’d get after waiting almost 30 min for a burger. It was quite impressive though to get a bun that actually was refrigerator cold on the top but toasted on the bottom. It was like they toast a bunch and just store them in the fridge until they are ordered, NOTOK. The fries were ok, not greasy like 5 Guys. I was expecting more from a place that touts the quality of the beef. The burger should be much better with the quality of meat they are serving. Save you’re time and $$ there are better places to go. I know I will not be returning and steering friends away from here as well.

I love all sorts of burgers, fancy like 5 Star Burgers on Wyoming and quick and greasy like 5 guys. I’d describe the Burger Rush burger to be more like a Whataburger. with its thin patty. I’m not usually the type to order multiple patties but this one was so thin I wasn’t feeling full after I finished. I ordered mine with BBQ sauce and bacon and I could barely taste the sauce. I guess what do you expect with the«standard» included toppings. Overall, I’d say skip this place unless there isn’t anywhere else to go. The sweet potato fries weren’t that great either. I agree with Alan S. not terrible but nothing special either.

This is one of those instances where I wish I could give a fractional half star. Doesn’t happen a lot, but sometimes I just need a half star. In this case, I can’t in good conscience give Burger Rush 4 stars. 4 stars is a somewhat rarefied air, and while The Rush is pretty good, it’s not 4 stars. And then again, to be honest, 3 stars is below what Burger Rush is. Burger Rush is not quite 5 Guys. It’s good, but it’s just not quite there. It’s more or less the same thing, though: You get to make your own burger, pick the size you want, the toppings, etc. Burger Rush is different in that it allows you to select the bun. So there’s that. Fries are extra, and they do offer onion rings. Service was good, nice and prompt. Clean facilities, which is never a bad thing. As a plus. it’s close to my house. Yay!

I really wanted to like this place more since it was a new family owned business and it was close to my house but nothing really wowed me about this place. I did like how there beef was fresh and purchased from a local farm guess that explains the prices the burger was decent but nothing to amazing Five Guys up the road or 5 star burger is a better choice. There fries here were homemade but soggy overall there are better places to go.

I was excited to try a new burger place but was disappointed by the quality and portions. For being grass fed beef my burger was so greasy that my bun was completely saturated. The patty size was equivalent to that of McDonald’s. The fries were actually good and the green chile was hot and very fresh tasting. But for nearly $ 30 for two people is a bit much. If im going to pay that I will go to a sit down restaurant instead of a fast food joint.

I agree that the burger patties are a bit small, especially when you’re used to over-eating at 5-star burger. But when, you stop to think about the fact that you’re getting grass-fed locally grown beef, it make sense that you have to pay a bit more! And it’s nice that you don’t have to pig out to enjoy your meal. We really liked that they were able to cook our hamburgers rare. We also really enjoyed the onion rings, which have thick slabs of onion and are lightly battered.

Wasn’t terrible, but definitely below average. My wife’s burger and onion rings were both undercooked compared to mine, kind of an amazing accomplishment considering they were on the same order. The meat was dry and flavorless, bacon was limp and undercooked. Everything was just meh. There are many places nearby which serve better hamburgers, and will get my business instead. Wife says give them a second chance, I say at those prices they’ve had their chance already. She might be back, but I certainly won’t. UPDATE: A year and a half later, this location has closed. It is now a «Mediterranean Grill.» I have no opinion of the new restaurant. All I can say is I am utterly unsurprised at the previous one’s failure.
