Fresh sandwiches. Local. What’s not to love? Baggins has been a mainstay on this stretch of Lomas for as long as I can remember, over 20 years. Keep on truckin’.

Great sandwich! Had the Almost Rueben today and I’m looking forward to returning to try a couple other options that look fantastic.

This place has been open for years now, and I used to frequent it quite a bit. But I haven’t been there for over a 2 years, so with a heavy heart I have to say I was disappointed. The shop is showing its age from the parking lot to the kitchen, it needs a makeover badly. Now on to food. that also was a disappointment. The Bread was a stale, the veggies on the sandwich wilted and tasteless. The meat was even a little chewy. like it was old or something. Don’t know what happened over the years, but Baggins used to be one of top sandwich shops in Albuquerque.

What can I say about a sandwich shop I’ve patronized for 20 years? They have very creative sandwiches and delicious sides. They know what works and keep em coming. Sort of run down but no one seems to care. I’m glad it’s still popular and look forward to coming back soon.

The exterior could use a remodel, let’s be honest. But then, maybe it’s the tradition. You know, Baggin’s has been around a while, I hear. Baggin’s… where they put your sandwich… IN… a BAG. Still wondering if that’s why the name is Baggin’s? Or maybe it’s the last name’s crazy history of a man with a bag who traveled the world over with one delicious sandwich and ate it crumb by crumb. They were actually a bit busy today or maybe I would have had a chat with someone who knew. Pretty good stuff. I have to agree with someone else who’s reviewed and say that it didn’t quite fill me up all the way. Maybe my appetite is just ginormous, but after my NY Reuben(deli mustard, pastrami, swiss, sauerkraut), I’d wished I had a side or three. They did provide me with a super fresh tasty chocolate chip cookie, complimentary, and that was just darling! Also, I prefer thousand island to deli mustard so I just got a side of it. Problemmo solved-o. The other sandwich bestowed upon my amigo was the Cro-Magnon… beef! It’s what’s for lunch. Good golly. I had a bite and boy was it meaty! A meat-loving-man’s dream! As I’ve mentioned in previous reviews, I’m all about those toppings and cheeses, and meat is just a nice little bonus. So I would have preferred a saucier pairing with the beef, but the man just simply adored it! Green chile, some peppers, mustard, tons of beef, and bacon! BAM! There were a bunch of locals who the staff memorized and I thought that was really sweet. The feel and the vibe is so local and everything was very fresh tasting. I will definitely pop on in for something else one day. I’m kinda curious about this red potato salad! So come give it a try ya’ll! Don’t just Dive-In; Bagg-In! ;)

Sundown«thanksgiving» sandwich. Very good! Can’t go wrong with a mom and pop sandwich place that has all fresh/local ingredients. If you don’t like anything in the menu you can create your own! Great lunch spot!

The sandwiches are mighty tasty but teeny tiny, that is all my friends. Okay there’s more. If you want to wet your appetite and proceed to go home and eat whatever to fill the void then this is the place, but their sammies are tasty.

*The food portions are small. That being said, this place is pretty dang good! The flavour in the sandwiches is what will have you coming back again. It really sets this place apart from other sandwich shops around the area. Sweet joint.

I love Baggins. I love how fresh and fast they make their food. I love how many choices they have. So many sandwich choices — hot and cold! — and at least half a dozen side choices to tempt you away from boring old potato chips. My personal favorite is the Unforgettable sandwich, and the Chinese Sesame Noodle side. For lighter eaters, try the wholesome Half deal, which includes half a cold sandwich, your choice of chip or a side, and a 16 oz drink for the very reasonable price of $ 8.00 plus tax. Exchange your side for soup for $ 1 more. Please remember to tip cuz the staff here is always very friendly and your food should come out delicious every time. And, you get a free cookie with your meal :) support your local sandwich shop!!!

I’ve been here probably 10 times in the last year. I hop back and forth between here and another local favorite sandwich place. The menus are similar but the end product is distinctly different. This place is always busy but never packed so I like that it is a little quite. I’ve never had a bad sandwich here, service is quick and friendly and prices are on par for the type of establishment.

Baggin’s is a very nice sandwich place. All the ingredients are fresh, and it’s small and quiet. The sandwich is pretty good and the variety of the sandwiches they have is pretty big. We will definitely be back here. The service very friendly

The sandwiches were great, particularly the egg salad and cromagnon for which this place is worth returning. It did, however, take 30 minutes to get the food from the time we ordered(confirmed on the receipt) which is an area for improvement. Food gets a 5, service a 1 and so the final score of 3

Great local sandwich shop. Owner is always at the front end and upbeat. Clean and good quality. My favorite sandwich is the High Baggins.

More a 3.5 than a 3. I had the Cubano, but the normal onion bun was not available so I chose a whitebread hoagie roll as my bread. The sandwich was flavorful and loaded with pickels(I had to take a few off, too many for my taste). It was also rather small, but really just enough for lunch, especially if you include the bonus chocolate chip cookie that came with it! Refills are free, though if you get a soda you have to ask for it since the soda fountain is behind the counter. Restrooms are outside on the outdoor patio. The restaurant was clean, but had dive vibe to it, couldn’t really place the feeling why though, but the graffiti on the front window may have had something to do with it.

We have a few KUNM member cards… promising 2for1 deals all over NM… and we have been trying to get to some of the establishments on the card that are not part of our regular rotation. On the plate today… BAGGINS! I like that its a local joint that is seemingly pretty laid back… décor is nothing special… menu on a chalkboard is pretty vast. My hubby ordered a philly with green chile and I got a California BLT, both sandwiches were delivered quickly and the counter service was pleasant and efficient. I walked away satisfied and thought to myself… Baggins would make a great food truck. They seem to have the packaging and service down… could be an interesting expansion idea… I hope I get some stock if they do. ;) Note: They have a «pet patio» with a back entrance and we got a bonus cookie with each sandwich! Score.

Love this lil place! Who knew it was even here?! I came here for lunch with my boyfriend and my mom, and we all loved it. My favorite dish was the Cro Magnon(roast beef, bacon, green chile, and cheeses on a wheat bun). It was deee-lish! It was a little small though. Wished it was bigger! The Unforgettable was also quite delicious and fresh(turkey, bacon, sprouts, cream cheese on wheat)! The cole slaw was excellent, not watery like many cole slaws. The cucumber water is also a nice touch! I will definitely return for lunch again.

I was about to write a glowing review for Baggins but I just had my sandwich delivered. It is half the size it was last time. I ordered the High Baggins… which is usually awesome – an egg salad sandwich with tomatoes and bacon. This time, I ordered no bacon to cut the fat… but this is really disappointing since they still charged me the full price for the sandwich and there were only two tiny pieces of tomato on my sandwich. This makes me wonder if I should order from there again –I probably will since I’ve had so many good experiences. I just hope this isn’t a sign that they’re going downhill. My advice? Go there to order… the delivery sandwiches are sub-par!
