Let me start off by saying the food is great and the prices are reasonable, it’s the service that is just plain awful. The past two times I’ve gone here, I had the same waitress. Rude, unfriendly, impatient. I thought maybe she was having a bad day the first time but today I realized she’s just not nice. There’s also no communication between staff. We were brought menus after we already placed our order. Get it together, Whistle Stop staff. The food and prices are not worth the poor customer service. I won’t be returning for a while.

I love having breakfast here! It’s a small and cozy place, and the waitresses(although always very busy) are really friendly and treat you like family. I’ve only been a couple of times, but every time I’ve had very«good food and and great company»!!(It’s written on their wall, but it’s so true!) The Texas French toast with bananas and powdered sugar are the best! The eggs taste like their fresh. And the Benedict is excellent! I highly recommend giving this place a shot.

I heard the food was good here so I was going to give a try. It was 11:15 and the person who I thought was my waiter told me that they were serving breakfast and lunch. The waitress came to the table and took our drink order. When she came back to take our order I asked for a sandwich and she rudely responded«we’re only serving breakfast» when I looked upset she tried to say that they could maybe do it. I told her to forget it and I ordered pancakes for my kids. Literally 5 minutes later the cook came to greet the table behind me and they asked for lunch and it was not a problem. They were unprofessional and don’t know what they are doing. Pancakes looked good.

Just stopped by this place after trying to find out what’s good nearby. This place is pretty cool. A low key place for the locals to get to and prices are very fair. I had the breakfast meal with hash. The hash was incredible. I ate around 10 am and didn’t eat until 7pm. I hope this place gets more clientele. I wish them all the luck because it’s always tough to stay own with other places that have been around for years. I will definitely be coming back here.

Went here for breakfast with the family. I must say, I almost passed it… it has a pretty small footprint. As the outside suggested, it was small inside… tight actually. The décor was a bit outdated & in need of some patching here & there, but it was clean. Service was a bit slow, but there only seemed to be two servers, & it was pretty busy. Everyone was super friendly though. The food got mixed reviews. Hubby got an omelet… very tasty, huge, but needed more cheese. I got an Irish Benedict… tasty, but the eggs were waaay over poached; solid in the middle… so sad. My oldest got bacon, eggs, home fries, & pancakes… no complaints. My middle son got a hash brown special… holy deliciousness! And my daughter got waffles… she really didn’t like them, which is unusual because she’s never had a waffle she didn’t like. All in all, I’d go back. But, not with guests… not yet. Want to give it another shot first because it’s possible they just had an off day

This place was once a very busy little spot. It was our favorite place to go for breakfast on the weekend. Now, not so much. The food is OK. Don’t get me wrong. What bothers me is the fact that the new owner has the Best of RI plaques hanging in the restaurant like she won them. Those were won by the previous owner. Fraud. Its not even remotely close to what it use to be.

Great little place for a seriously good omelet. Visited at lunch on a weekday and we nearly had the place to ourselves. Prompt, friendly service, too — and that’s a big plus in the middle of the workday.

This restaurant is alright. I got an omelette and my 15 month old son got the Texas Train Tracks(kid’s French toast). It was all made fine but nothing stood out about its taste. It reminded me of food I am capable of making at home. The chairs are very uncomfortable. However, the bill was under $ 11.00! Not bad, but I prefer another Cumberland breakfast spot.

Went there for breakfast today. Had to wait for a table for more than 35 minutes. There was an empty table but that was being held along with another for a larger party. However they wouldn’t take our reservation when we called to make one. Once seated we waited another 40 minutes for our food. When the two tables seated after us were finished eating and we still had not been served we decided it was time to go. An hour and 15 minutes is enough to wait for breakfast.

I can’t speak highly enough of this little diner. The corned beef Reuben sand which is literally the best I’ve ever had in my life. Fish and chips are out of this world, perfectly fried goodness. I have never had them but I hear good things about the meat pies too! Definitely worth a drive from anywhere in RI.

We’ve been here three times so far and everything has always been excellent. The food is fresh and homemade, and the servers are so friendly. This place just does things the right way!

Fantastic home made breakfast and deserts. Pancakes we’re stand out good and omelets packed full of fillings! Scratch made grilled corn muffin topped off a perfect breakfast and coffee. Even got convinced to take home a slice of chocolate cream pie with homemade whip cream which was delicious. I highly recommend!

I’ve been hearing forever that their fish and chips are legendary. Well they are! So delicious and crispy and light and British tasting(I’m a passport holding Brit so I know ;). The fries weren’t great — they had that weird textured coating… I didn’t eat them but the fish was amaaaazing! Nice staff too! PS Their Facebook page says cash only but their phone was busy so there was no way to double check that. But apparently they DO take credit cards so that would have made our visit easier

Blink and you might miss this place! I have driven by it a thousand times but never thought to stop here until I read the reviews of the food. It really is a hidden gem. Big portions, good food, and very affordable. I ordered blueberry pancakes, side of corned beef hash and a coffee. The blueberries were cooked inside the pancakes which I was extremely happy about and the pancakes were big and fluffy. The corned beef hash actually tasted like corned beef and was not overly mushy. This was no canned hash, that is for sure. My girlfriend ordered egg whites, bacon, toast and homefries and was pleased with everything as well, especially the homefries. The atmosphere was very homey, definitely an older crowd but that was not an issue for a younger couple like us. I recommend giving this place a try if in the area, you will not be disappointed!

This place is adorable and cozy. Small on the inside, a little slow for a breakfast spot but the service made up for it. Our waitress was very nice. Food was great and accurate. Would go back for sure.

I live right down the street and can’t believe I’ve never been here for a meal. Went today for breakfast and it was great! I had a fresh iced tea and a sausage and cheese omelette. It was sooo good and came with toast and delicious home fries. I can’t wait to go back and try lunch and dinner!!!

Truly a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere and excellent food. Very clean and bright inside but a little hard to find from the outside with little signage. I had the hash/onions omelet which was great. The staff was very engaging and the«regulars» were equally conversant and pleasant. I will be back and it is not as far off the beaten path as one might think — only 1.4 miles(5 mins) off 295 at exit #10.

I tried this hidden gem on a Friday afternoon where I was the youngest patron by decades. Still the friendly staff and owner made me feel more than welcome. Throughout my stay, the owner made the rounds and said hi to everyone while wishing us a nice weekend, making sure our food was as we wanted it, and making a little small talk. The woman sitting behind me came in excited to catch up with her«friend», so it’s evident that this is the norm at this cozy little café. I started with a fresh brewed ice tea — one of my favorite summer drinks and got a buffalo tender sandwich on a wrap for my meal. The menu has a good balance between breakfast and lunch and I especially love the smaller portions section that while other places designate for only the kids here’s they offer to all patrons. For the most part the choices are your staple fried and classic sandwiches and platters. The portions are large enough to take home half, and with the $ 1 scoops of ice cream staring you in the face, it’s a good plan to leave some room for dessert.
