I went to their Amsterdam office for my initial evaluation with a dressed surgical wound on my ankle. They did an abbreviated evaluation because they did not have any supplies there. No gauze, tape, bandaids, or anything else! A week or so later, I went to their main office on Evert Rd. and was given an injection near the point of the wound. I was then told to bring my own supplies from home on the next visit, because they, also, did not have any. On the next visit, when they told me to remove my dressing, I asked them for scissors. They didn’t have any. This place is an assembly production line, solely for the purpose of extracting money from patients and insurers! THEWORST!

I was referred to this office because I told that dr. Apicella was the best around to administer epidurals. The place is like a factory! On several occasions I sat with 4 or 5 other patients waiting for procedures and in 20 minutes we were all done! Do the math. He allows no time for questions and twice he dismissed me saying«I have to move on,(to a phone call, leaving for the day)». This guy has the worst bedside manner of any physician I have ever met. I told my surgeon about the incidents and now have a more responsive pain management doc. Run don’t walk from this guy, if you can! !

The staff SEEM warm and caring, but it doesn’t necessarily mean they are efficient. The doctors on first glance seem qualified and have knowledge of current practice and procedure, however, have extremely poor follow through. They will see you, make recommendation on your care, but do not prescribe medication. Rather, they leave that to your general practitioner. Unfortunately, they do not communicate with your GP, which only affects you the patient. They expect you to be the messenger of which meds to trial. They claim to have a 72 hour hold on documentation due to the dictation service they use, however, seem to be more like 72DAYS. They have been extremely lax about sending documentation to my doctor and when called umpteen times, still don’t have the drive to follow through. This only puts the patient in a precarious position in which they are left in pain and discomfort. My GP has tried, in vain, to contact this clinic, but to no avail. It seems to be par for the course, despite your role as doctor or patient. Also, life threatening. There, I said it. After a recent discussion with my «specialist», it was decided to cease a certain medication. I was gung-ho, as I had been on the med for 2 years with little to no relief. The«specialist» encouraged me to drop the med cold turkey, which I did and went through the WORST withdrawal process you could imagine! Pain, anxiety, tachycardia, vomitting, you name it. When I addressed this at a follow up visit, she replied«Oh, I didn’t know you could withdraw like that.». Nice. And how about the episode where they had my GP trial 3 meds concurrently? 2 hospitalizations later and they wonder why my GP would like to inspect documentation before writing a script blindly. Disorganized, lazy, slow, incompetant. It’s always sad when people ruin a good thing. Recommend somewhere else!!!
