This place is in better shape since it burned and was redone, but it is still a mess. You know the kind of place where they jam in crap in every open square foot — or allow their vendors to put their advertising wherever. They make a lot of food on the premises, sandwiches and breakfast stuff, etc which is pretty good. I find everything tends to be more expensive than the other markets. Better selection than most places though since they are larger.
The reason I hate this place though is that they are shockingly disrespectful of their neighborhood and their customers. During the slow times of the year they close whenever they want without warning, notice, or any sign as to when they will reopen. Multiple times I have headed over for a drink and /​or quick snack, walked a few blocks to get there and the freakin door is locked and the lights are off. What the hell? Not only that they don’t even shovel the sidewalk in the winter, just the area in fron of the door. How freaking lazy can you get? When have you ever seen a business that doesn’t shovel the sidewalk? And I am not talking for a day or two, or one or two snowfalls, this is just how they do it.
Take your money to the other Bodegas nearby and reward them for not sucking as much as these guys.
