I enjoyed a paesan pizza with a meeting at work the other day. nothing like a free lunch with pizza which was was very good. The cheese slice was salty but savory and I had a slice of pepperoni which was also good and they are always very greasy but heck that gives it a lot of flavor right! Then just the other night against by better judgement because I remember not liking their hot subs previously when I’ve have had them before; Well I went for the hot eggplant parm sub not ever again because it’s too simple for me, no herbs or flavor whatsoever. Stick with the pizza which is sooooo good and the guy who was working was very friendly and helpful.

A solid local pizza joint. I like to order the small/personal pizza in chicken parm or buffalo.

Best pizza in Albany? That might be a stretch. Best crust in Albany might be a little more fitting. I don’t know what it is about the sauce or the cheese they use, but their cheese slices always taste odd. They are very very thin and greasy also. However, their broccoli tomato slice is delicious and the crust is nice and crisp. I’m not sure if Paesans came under new ownership since the last time I’ve been there but it is has definitely improved but until they get their cheese slice to my liking, this probably won’t be in my top choices for pizza in the area.

This is my go to pizza place in the student section. Well managed, clean, consistent, and very good pizza with a thinner crispy crust. I love the specialty chicken Parm pizza and chicken Marsala. Nice fresh tasting tomato sauce which is what it is all about(that and the Hokey Pokey).

Ordered a chicken CUTLET sub, as stated on their menu, with mayo and American cheese. 1.5 hours later I receive a chicken PARM sub with mayo spread on the inside of the roll with burnt American cheese on top. Any Italian style restaurant should know the difference between these two very basic types of sandwiches. I also ordered garlic bread with cheese-a submarine roll with some butter and oregano sprinkled on it. Absolutely no cheese at all. The only thing this place can handle is a cheese pizza, and barely that. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.

Best cheese slice in Albany. I don’t venture far from that. A lot of times their specialty press look like they’ve been there since opening. But the cheese slice gives it the 4th slice.

The Scavio family has come a long way building s pizzeria business with little to nothing, all the way to having six reputable pizzerias. The promise to their mother, was to stick together no matter what, and to cater to the capital region, an unparalleled pizza and a level of service that cannot be matched with competing pizzerias. Frank Scavio, amends by his promise and continues to put a smile on my face, each time I purchase one of his buffalo chicken slices. I recently placed an order through grubhub, and less than four minutes, my order was already completed and ready! This pizzeria is my favorite around the«student ghetto» and I continue to come to this very pizzeria, no matter what. Frank Scavio, is not just an owner, he’s always there, always producing the perfect, the freshest pizzas for us Albany locals. His hard work and dedication is clearly shown, when you take your initial bite into your food that only produced with high-quality ingredients. This place is spacious, air conditioned in the hot days and well heated in the cold. Thank you so much for your excellent level of service!

Great pizza at all locations. Crust may be better here. Crispier. The only thing this place lacks is a Delmar location

Good enough for dinner but not great. The crusts were hard and chewy and the garlic knots seemed a little stale. The boneless wings were okay, a little soggy. Overall it was fine, but 30 dollars for fine just isnt worth it.

Best pizza in Albany. There is a serious difference in taste over other area shops. Also voted best pizza in Albany by Metroland.

(518) 435‑0312 — I will remember this phone number of the Ontario St. Albany Paesan’s location until the day I die! Hahaha! I am a graduate of The College of St. Rose — which, if you went to St. Rose, you KNOW Paesan’s & likely know it well! I have always been a fan of their pizza & garlic knots best, but many of their subs & wings are pretty legit., too! Ontario St. was their *original* location & personally, the location of which I was mostly closely acquainted for many yrs. living in Albany, especially the 4 yrs. at St. Rose, in which I’d stumble in to Paesan’s likely w/in the 2−3am timeframe on most any given weekend-night…haha! The family has owned a few other locations in the Capital District w/in the past 15’ish yrs. — E. Greenbush, Upper-Western Ave./Guilderland area, Central Ave./Colonie area, a short-lived(R.I.P.) Troy/6th St. location, just down from RPI, etc. — but I still hold all«love» to the old faithful on Ontario St. The overall«pizza scene» in Albany/the greater Capital District area is pretty much an abysmal joke(#SadFace) — but, for me, Paesan’s has always been«up there» as one of the few I can always count on for a legit. slice. I mean, there’s always Domino’s & Pizza Hut, too???(OR, WAIT… hahahah…)

Pizza was good, thin crust, ample toppings, ingredients could have been a bit better quality, every slice was very greasy. I would have liked to see fresh sliced mushrooms instead of canned. The wings are tiny, many of ours were just two bones cut on both ends with a small piece of shriveled up meat connecting them. There were no drumstick part of wings at all, not sure if that is intentional. I asked for two mediums, and picked up an was charged for two large. Looked like too big of an inconvenience for both of them and I to remake the pizzas correctly. Luckily I had enough money on me to cover the bill.

Albany’s pizza scene is largely horrendous, with the exception of Paesan’s. The only good pizza i’ve had in Albany-my go to place for delivery. Besides pizza I’ve only tried some of their subs which admittedly aren’t really that great, stick with the pizza.

Ugh. Why did I trust the reviews? Ordered a BBQ Chicken pizza and had high expectations for it, seeing as how you pizza-illiterate Unilocalers claim this to be the best pizza in Albany. Oh, how bitterly disappointed I was. The crust was chewy and tough, somewhat reminiscent of gnawing on a soggy piece of beef jerky. But the real issue I took with this pizza was the complete lack of BBQ sauce – I ordered a BBQ Chicken pizza and expected to actually taste the BBQ sauce in every bite, but the fine owners of Paesan’s Pizza obviously think otherwise. So, as hard as I tried to overcome the thick layer of tasteless, poor-quality mozzarella and chunks of «chicken» glued onto a tanned-leather crust by just enough BBQ sauce to hold everything together, my boyfriend and I just couldn’t get through our first slices. The kicker is that the manager/owner we voiced our concerns to actually *BLAMEDUS* for the poor quality of the food – apparently we should have known, as first time customers, to order the BBQ Chicken pizza with extra BBQ sauce. Although, even then, I doubt that pizza would be anything more than a circular disc of crap.

It’s good! I stopped in a few nights ago and I must say it was satisfying. I ordered two slices of buffalo chicken and it was great. It was flavorful, topped with chunks of chicken and spicy, but not overwhelming to the palette.

When I first moved to Albany for college(about 8 year ago) I was somewhat disappointed in this pizza joint. I’m not sure if it changed or if I did, but now I can’t imagine living in the Albany area without Paesans! My favorite is their chicken parm pizza. It’s perfect. Perfect cheese, chicken, sauce ratio. Always tasty and fresh. Sometimes I wish their crust was just a little bit thicker, but that’s my only complaint. Their chicken rolls are also amazing. Oh, and their garlic knots… yum.

Still searching for the best pizza that will deliver to our place. The pizza was totally meh. Not enough flavor. My husband tells me that getting a slice in the store is wayyyy better than a whole pie delivered. The mozzarella sticks were super breaded with not very much cheese inside. They reminded me of the grocery store brand that I prepare in the oven. Fries were good though. The search continues…

Paesan’s on Ontario is by far the best pizza in Albany. Not sure about the other Paesan’s locations. This stuff is worth the extra 30 seconds it takes to walk over from Madison Pizza and I Love NY Pizza across the street. I’m from Long Island, so I am familiar with GOOD pizza. Unfortunately, most pizza in Albany is pretty bad. Paesan’s is definitely my go-to pizza joint in Albany. Second only to Marisa’s Place in Guilderland… but that’s a bit of a drive.

I’m tempted to give this place a 2, but I thought, that rating is reserved for places like Papa John’s. First off, I deduct a point off of Albany because it seems like you do not have any awesome pizza joints. I wanted delivery and found 2 places in the Troy area(DeFazio’s and Mick’s) that wouldn’t deliver down to the Albany. The pizza tastes like any other decent pizza places. It honestly sort of just tastes like the frozen pizzas you get from grocery stores. So in that mindset, the pizza is probably too expensive. I paid 25 including tip for a large with 3 toppings. The order came in 15 minutes so that was a star deserving quality. They also take card over the phone so if you don’t have cash, you can do that. In short, if you’re lazy and want someone to cook for you and get it done quickly(besides your other better half), I’d say go for it, but just expect mediocrity. I would rather spend that 15 minutes nagging to get that other person to cook me a steak.
