El Vaquero Mexican Restaurant

Last night was I and my girlfriends first time eating here. We had free chips with dip. Chips were hot and fresh but the sauce was a little watery. Our meal came really quick even tho it was 5 mins before closing. Our food was very hot and tasty but our plates were also extremely hot as well suggesting that our meals were warmed up in the microwave. If you receive hot food fresh out the kitchen the food should be hot not the plate or at least around where the food touches the plate. Also check under your plates for filth. And check the plastic containers filled with alcohol. Alcohol and plastic don’t mix!

My fiancé and I eat here at LEAST once a week. We love the food and the hospitality. There is nothing bad about this restaurant. The service is fast and friendly. They remember our order every time we go in and its reasonable prices for the amount of food that youre served. Amazing place and I recommend it highly.

Rudest waitress I have ever encountered. Went in to place a to go order was ignored while she waited on other people that came in after me. Asked to speak to manager was ignored at that request to. Left without placing an order. Will not return do ton rude staff.

I loved this place while we were in Albany! It’s authentic, fresh, and filled with flavor. Be sure to get the beef and cheese dip to go along with your salsa and chips, you can thank me later. Definitely the best Mexican restaurant in Albany!

Reasonably fresh. Reasonably tasty. Nothing unique or different. Good service. Would have gone 3.5.

I love the food here. It always taste’s fresh! The staff is friendly. Great atmosphere for all ages.

I am a huge fan of this place. I have never had a bad experience here over many years. Today was no different. My wife had chili con carne and I had the nachos especiales. My food was not amazing, but it was good as always. I usually get the chimichanga with ground beef and it is always excellent. It has a layer of cheese and the tortilla is crisp and fluffy.
The nachos had everything on it today. The guacamole was up to par. I personally wish it had thicker jalapenos and some more sour cream, but it was good.
The chips and salsa were outstanding as usual. The waiter kept the chips fresh and the salsa flowing. We never wanted for anything. I do not even think our drinks ever made it halfway without a refill and the waiter was always polite. That is pretty typical of the service here though. They are usually very attentive and friendly.
This is an all around great place to eat with reasonable prices. The only bad part is the location. The shopping center is really dingy, but I will not fault the restaurant. It is a gem in the rough.
TL;DR friendly staff, great food, & reasonable prices.
