I don’t have many regrets in regards to my wife and I’s move from Albany to Delmar; moving further away than walking distance from the Curry House is one of them. This Indian food is easily the best in the Capital Region. Every dish just seems to be perfectly executed. It also doesn’t hurt that the kitchen staff will actually prepare the food as spicy as you request — if you request the equivalent of nuclear heat, you will almost definitely receive nuclear heat, so keep this in mind when ordering. Apart from being delicious, this particular restaurant’s food is very inexpensive — a couple could easily dine out for close to $ 20.00, and even less if you opt for the lunch or dinner buffet, which are now apparently offered on Saturdays. Overall, a great value.

They screwed up my delivery, only half arrived. I called, the guy wasn’t that friendly on the phone… so what’s good? They delivered the order in it’s entirety! The whole thing over again… you gotta respect that.

I love Curry House. I actually considered moving to the other side of town just so I could be closer! It can be a bit expensive so the best time to go is during a buffet lunch– this way you can try out a variety of things for a far more reasonable price. I enjoy the Vegetable Korma, Chicken Tikka Masala and their Samosas.

A solid buffet lunch choice in town. However, they are slow to replenish the nan, and the interior is in desperate need of rehab. Why anyone would carpet a restaurant is beyond me. Rip it out! Service is pretty hands off as well. But for $ 8 how can you go wrong? So I guess I’ll say this… have a quick buffet lunch here but skip it for dinner. There are better choices in town.

Too much grease/oil. The dishes lack depth and spice. I could see the oil pooling on my plate and in each dish. I think they would have the potential to be a better lunch buffet but aren’t using enough authentic spice and making up for it with grease

I frequent this restaurant periodically for lunch. The food is quite good and the value is high. I do have an issue with the way they dole out the nan. I rarely see nan available. Many ask for it and always have to wait. Yesterday I saw two small groups ask for nan but it took so long to get it that they both left. One couple could be heard grumbling about it. Why so cheap with the nan? Is it more expensive than the other food? If it is, then how about raising the price $.50 and providing an ample supply?

Best Indian cuisine in the Capital District. Little pricey but you get what you pay for.

I read some reviews and them seem harsh. What would you actually expect from a $ 10 buffet all you can eat indian food? The food is good and well worth your money. I personally only go for buffet rather then menu items.

I had received positive input about this restaurant from colleagues, but I have to say that I was more than just disappointed. First, the ambiance of the restaurant leaves a LOT to be desired. The serving trays on the table did not do a good job at keeping some of the food hot(or even warm in some cases). I realize the price is lower than other buffet places, but I would much rather pay more than to go back to this dismal place again.

Curry House has the best Indian lunch buffet in the area. It has a very casual atmosphere, along with amazing food. On some days the buffet includes Goat Curry, or their own Chili Chicken dish, which is a delicious combination of spicy and tangy. The food always tastes so fresh, they always make enough naan, and they are very consistent about bringing out fresh food. At $ 7.99 for an endless buffet, you are not going to find anywhere that competes. You will leave full and happy if you eat at Curry House.

My husband and I love the curry house. We eat here often. Favorites include: curry chicken, chicken tikka masala, veggie korma. We also love their naan and aloo tiki and veggie samaso. Lately my husband and I have been eating a lot less carbs so we enjoy their dishes without naan or rice some thing that used to seem unimaginable but if you choose to do it too you’ll find you’ll notice even more depth of flavor. Today we had veggie korma and chicken curry. Ordered it for pick up and used a $ 3 coupon we printed from their website. Coupons are for pick up only. Their delivery is reliable but they have a pretty high minimum to deliver and a small radius.

Found a ROACH in my food. Shalimar is so much better. I wouldn’t recommend eating/even considering walking through the front door. There are a ton of better places to choose from!

I highly recommend the lunch buffet. Very affordable and a good variety of dishes. The staff is very efficient and friendly. I only ordered from the regular menu once and I thought the food was a bit overcooked. The lunch buffet has never disappointed though.

I normally order Indian food from another restaurant, but decided to try this place because they deliver. Oh boy was that a mistake. Not only was the food mediocre; the delivery driver was very rude! Because he couldn’t locate our house or bother to listen to directions, he proceeded to start yelling at me. I will not be ordering from here again, nor would I recommend it anyone;(because the food is just okay and delivery service is terrible) not worth the money or headache. Frankly there are much better Indian food restaurants in Albany!

Ups: Went here around lunchtime, and even though we arrived around 2:30, when the lunch buffet officially ended, we were seated for the lunch buffet. During our meal, the buffet was replenished with new trays of hot food. This was not expected and really wonderful. My lunch companion really enjoyed his chicken tikka masala — sometimes the buffet version of this dish is very mild, but at Curry House, it had some spice too it. The rice and matter paneer were nicely done, and I enjoyed the vegetable curry and saag paneer(although, I don;t think the saag paneer had much paneer in it). There were plenty of meat and vegetarian options at the buffet. I didn’t have any, but I noticed they also offered a house salad with dressing, which I don’t usually see at Indian buffets, but I though was a nice option. Downs: My bf said the naan was«meh» — just«floppy white bread.» The two staff people we saw seemed very grumpy.

For the price, the quality is good. That’s why I give it four stars. If the food was slightly better, I’d give it five stars. If the price was higher… three stars. As it stands, I’d definitely recommend going there for either the lunch buffet or the dinner menu. It’s not fancy, but the people are friendly and helpful, and the food is tasty.

Curry house may be one of many Indian restaurants in Albany with quality fare, but the buffet at curry house is definitely a stand out. Offered on Friday and Saturday nights until late for a mere $ 9.99(less with frequent coupons in your val pack or circular), there is no shortage of diverse vegetarian and meat entrees, rices, and naan to ensure you leave satisfied. My partner and I always leave happily stuffed! The drinks are extra and I’m not sure if they serve beer, but I’m going there for the curry anyway, so water suits me just fine. Hope to see you there!

If you are in the Albany Down town area and need a quick and desperately Indian food you may give a try. But if you want to go out for a dinner of have a good Indian food do not bother to be near this place.

Love the lunch buffet! My boyfriend and I have gone there several times and it is great ever time! Very authentic food and comfortable atmosphere. Attentive and friendly staff. I particularly enjoy their cabbage dishes and the chicken vindaloo.

I stopped in here two days in a row for take out from the lunch buffet, and the food was excellent. There were 4 or 5 veggie selections both days, and a good choice of meat dishes as well. The staff here are friendly and accommodating. The only issue I had was that the buffet isn’t really ready to go when they open the doors. They prepare the meat dishes first, so you’ll have to wait for the veggie dishes, on one day a full half hour after they opened. Not a big problem if you know about it and don’t show up right when they open, as I did.
