Friendly staff and one of the best iced Americano’s I ever had! Keep up the great product and service.

They make you feel rushed to order. Then if you order the wrong thing or forget to tell them you need a non-dairy milk(even if they haven’t poured it in a cup, but it finished blending) they will charge you for the one you don’t want and for another that you do want 3 stars, cuz at least it taste good.

Got a white chocolate mocha there and it tasted really bad. Maybe something was wrong with that batch of beans because it tasted off. Very polite barista though.

I used to crave the coffee here but the last few months I’ve noticed the coffee tasting straight burnt, even worse than Dutch Bros. The girls working there are also loosing their charm as some of them are not personable or just flat rude. Case in point from last week. Me — «Hi! I’ve got a free card, I usually get a coffee with cream, anything you’d suggest that I could try?» thousand yard stare girl — «Um, well most of the stuff we have is pretty sugary. Of you just get coffee you’d probably not like most of the other stuff. I don’t know.» …Continue thousand yard stare. Me — «Okay, I’ll just have a latte, can you add cream to it, they’ve been a little burnt lately.» Girl, now with a snarled look on her face, «Cream?» Me «Yes please.»

Wow! Their coffee is sooooo good! I stopped here on my road trip from Southern California to Canada and the coffee shop was just perfect. Why can’t we have these in California?

I don’t drink coffee, like at all. I’ll drink the sugary drinks at Starbucks & Peet’s when a friend wants company, and sip on homemade brew just to get a taste of it, but coffee doesn’t make me feel hyper or give me any«benefit» other than having to go to the bathroom in 30mins. On a road trip to Portland, we stopped to get gas right off I-5 and my BF saw this place across the way and also wanted to refuel on his caffeine. I ordered the Fuel just cuz it sounded good and like it would be the best drink to give me energy, if any. I was very surprised at how good this drink was, maybe it’s a bad thing, but I could even see and taste little granules of coffee in my drink, I really really liked it and surprisingly it did give me energy, I was wired all the way to Portland. I couldn’t even drink my whole cup, I was afraid I’d be jumping off the walls, so I just gave the rest to the professional coffee drinker I was with.

Great little coffee drive-thru right off of I-5. Came through a couple times recently while traveling and I was pleasantly surprised at the menu options, prices & speed of service.(Despite indecisive children in the car). On an early morning pass I was hoping to make it through without waking my sleeping passengers and sure enough they took my order, my money, then handed me my drink within what seemed like 30 seconds. And yes it was an espresso drink. I’ll def keep this place in my bookmarks of «good stops off I-5»

Quick service, polite staff, and great coffee. I greatly prefer Black Rock coffee to other local drive-throughs! So far I have had regular hot and iced coffees, and the staff always adds the perfect amount of cream and sugar(I’m not picky enough to ask for certain amounts). I’m looking forward to trying the specialty drinks and some flavored RedBull!

We try to tell ourselves that we are not coffee snobs, but we probably are. We love Black Rock Coffee. Aside of using our French press at home, on the road, Black Rock is some of the best coffee you can get to go. I call it honest coffee. Starbucks burns every roast, and has falsified their claims to «fair trade» coffee, and they have become severely over commercialized. In my opinion, Dutch Brothers is just sugared milk with coffee extract. I feel that some of these coffee chains are surviving off of brand name, sugar content, and trendy hype. Portland has a amazing selection of roasted coffee bean suppliers. We are definitely a coffee city. A simple, honest cup of perfectly roasted coffee always comes out of Black Rock. I hope that they hold on to their standards. As a large chain, they are just about the best in our city. Black Rock is a wonderful staple, and a great representation of coffee for us. I have yet to taste burnt beans from them. No matter which location we stop at, we always get awesome service.

One of the best coffee I’ve ever tasted. I enjoy finding out new coffee stops and this was a gem! Fast service and kind employee. I really like how the bar is set up. I would surely recommend this to my friends from Seattle who drives down to California. This this is a place I’ll be stopping by to whenever I drive up there. Thumps up!

My wife and I were driving back down to California from an Oregon trip and were really tired, especially since we knew it was going to be a 14 hour road trip down the 5 freeway. I spotted a billboard for Black Rock Coffee and decided we should try it out. Glad we did! They know how to make coffee. They use good ingredients and understand flavor balance. I got a white chocolate caramel mocha and I could taste how good the coffee was and they didn’t overdo the sweetness. My wife got a hazelnut coffee and it had a very good distinct flavor. Both balanced with a delicious coffee flavor. Wish they were in more locations! Good customer service. Go there now!

Oh my god! I was so happy to have found this place after driving all night I needed a decent cup of coffee and I got off on the exit thinking I was going to just have to have truckstop coffee but then I found this awesome coffee house. Their coffee is gourmet and delicious. If you are coming down from i-5 North and heading west, it is a little easy to miss them so make sure you look to the south side of the street and don’t make the mistake of just going to the gas station there they are located right next to subway and they are their own independent coffee house so again, you get Great Northwest service and 104 made delicious awesome coffee take it from the Seattle girl who knows her coffee

Good coffee and decent price, a mix between Starbucks and Dutch bros; the happy medium. They get to know you by name and are genuine. The drinks are flavorful and fresh. The turn can sneak up on you on the hwy but worth the stop. THISLOCATIONIS24HRS

Great coffee and awesome service. I get the same great coffee from all of the baristas that work at the stand on Hwy 34. It is also nice that they are open around the clock. Keep it up Black Rock!

I’ve been to the Oceanside Ca. location and now here… What I can say it’s consistent. The coffee is great and fresh and the people that work there are always nice to talk to. I’ve a big supporter of the little coffee bars. This one is the few existing good local brew.
