I don’t know why the reviews here are so bad. The food is AMAZING! I consider myself a picky eater. For all I know this place may have been bad in the past but the food was nothing short of excellent when I ate here a few weeks ago.

I’ve been working nearby for a few months and this morning I decided to give Café Yasou a try so I stopped by and ordered a latte and a croissant. First sign of trouble, the guy behind the counter thought that a croissant was a bagel. He seemed confused when I clarified which item was a croissant and I had to point to one before he could get me the right item. I was running late, so I grabbed my stuff to go and didn’t try it until I was at work. The latte was awful! It tasted like bad coffee with instant creamer. The croissant was so stale that I couldn’t even eat it. I would have demanded my money back if I wasn’t already at work. This place is really bad and it’s hard to see how they can stay in business.

This place is close to my work. At first, it was a decent lunch. But then came the nastiness. Once i got a sandwich with moldy bread, another time i had bad turkey in my sammy, strike three went to spoiled yogurt(yeah yeah yogurt is supposed to be cultured… but this was spoiled). When new employees ask about this place, i point the other way.

The best thing about this place is that the menu is nearly endless! The prices are perfect for the quality of food they make. Mostly everything is fresh and made withing minutes that the order is placed. This place has been around for nearly fifteen with a few changes of ownership in the process, but the food remains just as good, if not better than before. If it weren’t for the limited clientèle, business would be a-boomin’ for Café Yasou.

Okay food, presentation at catering lacks though. Food served in what looked like cooking trays. I would not serve to my clients or board… agree with Kai — café yeah. Subway would be better for sandwiches in a pinch!

The lunch options if you work in the Harbor Bay Business Park are really limited, which is why I’d really like to love Yasou. It just isn’t meant to be. It’s convenient. Dolmas are good, hummus and falafel are okay. The staff are courteous. Thus, two stars. However… If you’re avoiding dairy you have to remember to request no tzadziki sauce on practically anything you order. This will mean dry falafel, so order hummus. There is feta in the eggplant salad, which was a depressing surprise. The veggie sampler is NOT $ 4.95, as it appears, but $ 7.95 for which you get a lot of food but skip it if you’re vegan because without the dairy it’s kind of sad. Pricing is weird. You get sides with certain things but not other similar things of similar prices. Call me stingy, but at $ 6 I’d really like a salad/fries with my sandwich. These sandwiches are not $ 6 kind of quality. If you’re building a sandwich you might find they charge you completely differently every time you order the same thing. Those courteous employees can also be kind of useless. Sometimes they get backed up seemingly for no reason. I’ve had to explain what dolmas are to them. Ordering ahead often makes no difference in how long you wait. Overall, unless you work around there I’d suggest you skip it.

Not particularly impressive, especially if you’re looking for authentic«Mediterranean» food. I like this place for two reasons though: pure lamb gyros(ie, not lamb-beef mixed), and the fact that it’s 2 blocks away from where I work. The décor is so-so and the customer service is quite lacking. I’d give it 3.5 points for food, 3 for décor and 2 for customer centricity. In my opinion, this business is surviving due to the sheer number of offices that surround it and just 2 other food options in the vicinity.

I ordered a Gyro, based on previous reviews. I have had Gyros all over the world, in restaurants, wagon stands, and delis, and I know a good one when I taste one. This Gyro was absolutely the WORSE I ever had. I am sick. I should have known when he asked me if I wanted a chicken or beef Gyro. I said, «Lamb.» He said, «OK.» It was HORRIBLE. It was made with tasteless, boiled lamb. Have you ever heard of boiled lamb? The yogurt sauce was watered down and running all over the place and was made without cucumbers, the tomato was pink and orange and completely unripened, and the pita bread was doughy and awful. They even served it with tasteless and uncooked french fries. The entire meal was pathetic! If I could rate this place with no stars, I would. Horrible, awful, tasteless and the chef should be charged and brought to trial for impersonating a cook. Don’t waste your time, money and taste buds on this CR@P they call food.

Gone here a couple of times. The food is not too bad, depending on what you order… The gyros and some of the sandwiches are pretty good. The customer service is lacking if you come here after 130pm– because if you get the girl that made my sandwich… Phew, you would be a little dissapointed. I requested the Poros(Avocado, salami, pastrami, and jack cheese, with Everything. What I ended up getting was a salami sandwich with pepper jack cheese, a thin layer of avocado(barely enough of coat the bread, not enough to hold the salad on). Completely forgot the pastrami, and None of the things i said to put in. their baklavah is good, but I am pretty sure they get it from Diamond Bakery(in Fremont) — they have 2 different kinds. The size is not worth the price here either. So i would definitely say if you wanted something that will fill you up, you might need to add on something if you order a sandwich or gyro

This place should be called, «Café Yeah, So?» Decent food but definitely boring. The interior could use a personality boost and a little more cleaning. The feel of the place is stale/processed/kinda dirty. The service is «meh.» Props on having a pretty extensive menu(including Greek/Mediterranean). Still, the prices could be better as well. I’d not go back here unless I really had to. (Or if I worked nearby and had few other options).

Great Restaurant, Great People. Under new management, great thing about this restaurant is that they have daily specials. recommend cheking this restaurant out, mixture of different food! They also offere catering for special events!

Limited hours and long lines detract from the convenience and tasty gyro specials. We go here when we are sick of the café at work(which is often!?) and don’t want to drive into Alameda. Pretty cheap and lots of options, so you can’t go wrong for lunch. Since it’s the ONLY option within walking distance of Harbor Bay Business Park it is popular. I’m thinking I should open a sandwich shop somewhere around here… serious business opportunity :-D

I’ve eaten at this place a couple times now because of its convenient location(walkable from where I work) and fast service. The one thing I love from this place is the chicken lemon soup they have. The gyros are alright. Not the most authentic food, but doable.

With nowhere else to eat in the area, they aren’t bad! Positives: Convenient Location Parking Available Fast Service Outside and inside tables Regular menu and Specials menu Fresh Fruit Salad A lot of sodas/drinks to choose from Negatives: Place needs to be updated — but who cares for a lunch joint? Ordered chicken gyro special… it was pretty good. So, for the convenience of lunch… why not go to Yasou?

If I could give negative stars I would. I got food poisoning here a few years ago when working at a firm there. I had the salad and within a few minutes of finishing began the cold sweats and within a half hour had to have someone drive me home. The rest of the evening was spent curled up in a ball in the bathroom. A few days later when I felt well enough to go back to work, I went to just let them know that they probably didn’t sufficiently wash the lettuce and was told to get out. AVOIDLIKETHEPLAGUE!!!

I used to go here all of the time and get their sandwiches complete with roasted garlic. Oh soooo good! It’s located in a business park so they have very limited hours. Drove all of the way from newark today just to get a yummy sandwich, hit a bit of traffic, arrived about 2:30 but figured we would be okay because I know they close at 3 or 3:30pm. They close the kitchen at 2pm! Which means they don’t even make sandwiches! I was sooooo disappointed. Stars off for their very limited hours, and the fact I didn’t get to eat the food this time!

This review is three and a ½ stars. For that quick lunch on a work day, this place is not bad if you’re craving a gyro or mediteranean platter. Their platter is quite tasty. Being that it’s a deli that also has normal sandwiches and stuff, I can’t say this is the most authentic place.

If I was to have a Big Fat Greek Wedding I would not ask Café Yasou to cater. The food was average, nothing to praise Zeus over. I had the gyro, it was a standard gyro, unlike the gyros I’ve eaten in Greece which would make Medusa smile. Café Yasou aims their business at the 9 to 5er that is stuck in the business park for the better part of their day.
