I like this yacht club. It wasn’t love at first sight. I’ve been to Encinal and a few other yacht clubs in Alameda and Oakland. This one is different. It’s woodsy and old school. Old money old school. I like the manager. He fits with the scene, he makes the vibe. Great bartender and down to earth, as long as you treat him with respect. I love the selection of vodkas and rums too. Recently helped host an event here and it turned out perfectly! I look forward to more events here.

Ballena Bay Yacht Harbor is a very pretty harbor area in Alameda. There is a restaurant(Pier 29) where you can have dinner and drinks(full bar). They have early bird dinner specials. Club Nautique is also at this harbor, Club Nautique specializes in sailing and power boat lessons as well as once you are trained, chartering boats for day use or overnight or extended use. There are many private boats here as well. Its also a nice area to go for a walk… dogs are ok. On the opposite side of the harbor is a good view of the San Francisco Skyline.

I’ve cruised around on a classic Italian Fishermen’s Boat, enjoyed some wine and a sunset on the Chardonnay in Santa Cruz and had a blast on a 3 day Carnival cruise to Ensenada & Catalina Island Senior Year in high school but today was my first time sailing. I feel like I’m still moving up and down with the waves as I Unilocal this right now as I literally got off the boat, grabbed dinner, drove back to Monterey and am trying to unwind. What an amazing experience, beautiful weather, clear skies and an knowledgable man took 17 – 18(we dropped people off at Pier 1.5 and picked people up) of us to sail the SF Bay. The Ballena Bay Yacht Harbor seems like a peaceful community and a convenient location to keep your sail boats and such as it is close to San Francisco. We were celebrating a good friend’s 30th Birthday. Feliz Cumpleanos Brian! What a lovely and memorable evening! Way to cruise into your dirty thirties! Haha!
