Lets just say the only reason I sometimes go to hitchcocks is because I really have too. I feel bad for the staff that works there because they have no benefits what so ever and on top of that their prices Are just plain ridiculous. I can’t wait fot the new publix to come in ans run them out of business so we can have a store of value in Alachua

This store has gone downhill in the past two years since new ownership. The deli food is not bad. However, the service there is horrible. I just spent over 10 minutes standing still while employees barely give you a blank look and don’t wait on you. This seems to happen every time I come here. This will be my last visit here.

I was excited to be able to support a local business when I moved here especially a grocery store a stones throw from my house. Boy was I wrong.
Every time I go there the staff is unhelpful and just plain rude. You can tell they don’t care much for their jobs. Again local business where money can go to a local owner. Needless to say I’ve been driving 7 – 10 miles to go to Walmart or Winn Dixie because I can’t take the attitudes I get here.
I see publix is opening up down the road. There is NO WAY This place will survive.

I’m a little disappointed in the turn Hitchcock’s business has taken. Gone is the sparkling clean store, great produce, and good selection. There are carrying too many «off» brands for me and the produce (and milk) goes bad very quickly. ;-(

It’s just ok
Cleaner than Winn Dixie but not as nice as Publix
Prices good on some things not so good on most everything else.
They have trapped business from Alachua due to their location

Their prices make Winn Dixie look appealing. The flies swarming around the deli counter during the summer makes me want to become a vegetarian.

I still say over priced and hardly has what I need. I’ll give you that it’s clean and has a red box. If you don’t have taste buds then go to bakery.
