We have visited this restaurant several times now and LOVE it! It’s one of those small neighborhood gems where the food is authentic and the service is very friendly. Hands down the BEST margaritas on the rocks we’ve ever had. They have a large selection of menu items and seem to be very accommodating to substitutions and modifications. We are vegetarian, and normally order the bean chimichangas with fresh guacamole(which is outstanding). Our meat eating friends said the pork and chicken burritos they ate were scrumptious as well. Great place for a casual delicious dinner with friends!

I looked this place up as I really wanted so authentic Mexican tacos, and this joint had them. It was a bit of a drive from my hotel to get here, but man was it worth it! They have the traditional Mexican drinks which I really love! I ordered several different type of tacos, beef, pork, chorizo, and al pastor. Before the tacos the nachos were a nice tie over as I was really hungry, then the tacos came. I devoured all of them in world record time I believe. They were so good, garnished with cilantro and onions. The meets were cook to perfection! I was so sad wheel all the tacos were gone, but I was full and satisfied! I highly recommend this place, the food is great and taste authentic. I will be back, no matter what the drive time is like.

The hot salsa verde is excellent but not for the timid. The tacos are amazing. The service is super friendly, and helpful. Pricing is reasonable. Margaritas are very good as well. I definitely want to sample more of their menu.

This was my first time eating at Ranchero’s Taqueria and it was amazing! I ordered three Mexican tacos: al pastor, chicken, and carnitas cactus salad. All of them were extremely flavorful. The margaritas are strong(but not too strong) and are less expensive than other Mexican restaurants. Will definitely be eating here again!

These are the best tacos I’ve had in Ohio. I’ve only experienced Mexican food on the east coast but New Rochelle, New York holds the record for best tacos I’ve ever had. Oh my god. I don’t even know what to say. The meat is so delicious and flavorful, it’s just perfect. Do yourself a favor and stop in. You will not regret it!

Stopped here for lunch and it blew my socks off. David, the owner spent about 10 minutes speaking with me after I was done eating. He was educating me about Mexican culture and the ideas behind his food and menu. He was a super friendly and passionate guy and I would come back again just to see him. That being said, the food was out of this world. Super authentic Mexican food. I had the Carnitas Cactus Salad Mexican Tacos and also the Chorizzo Pollo Mexican Tacos. There were so many flavors in the tacos it was an extreme flavor explosion in my mouth and I loved it. I’m a lover of Mexican food and this is definitely near the top of my list of favorites.

This is most likely thee most authentic Mexican restaurant on Akron. Meats are slow cooked. Also try a glass of the horchata as a desert.

When I see a restaurant with 120+ Unilocal reviews and a 4.5-star rating, I naturally expect it to be somewhat busy on any given evening. This was not the case when my date and I visited Ranchero’s Taqueria; we were the only guests and could not even find the hostess for 5 minutes or so. After finally being seated, we ordered the queso dip and Chicken fajitas. Both were very good, but I felt that the fajitas could have used more color for presentation purposes(perhaps red peppers or tomatoes). Our waitress(who was running double duty as the hostess) was one of the most bothersome I’ve ever encountered. She stopped by our table at least 15 – 20 times(no exaggeration). She also informed us of when she was headed to use the restroom. All of this wouldn’t have been nearly as bad if it weren’t for the fact that she was somewhat cranky. Towards the end of our meal, we were startled by what could only be described as «explosions and gunfire» blaring from the restaurant speakers. Perhaps one of the employees was playing Call of Duty on his break and had trouble switching over the inputs. This was not the worst meal we’ve ever had, but we will not be making a return.

We lives in Tucson, AZ for many years and have traveled to a few parts of Mexico as well as the Pacific Coast. This is the BEST and most authentic Mexican you will find in northeast Ohio. The service is fast and friendly. We have had a variety of dishes. All have been very good. My favorites have been lobster enchiladas(it was a special), chile rellenos, and tacos al pastor. The margaritas are also very, very good! We are so glad to have found this place.

The buzzword-slash-litmus test that people continue to throw around the most these days when talking Mexican food is «authenticity»: whether or not such-and-such restaurant can re-create the fabled street street taco or tamale of travel lore. In fact, setting aside chain franchises like Chipotles and Taco Bells, Mexican food in the US these days seems to have split into two broad camps: 1) those guided by a North Star of authenticity(a camp that includes both Mod Mex pioneers like Rick Bayless as well as Mom-and-Pop taco stands run by hard working immigrant families) and 2) those who shamelessly cash in on «don’t know any better» suburban Americans who are just fine with their burritos and chimichangas(not bashing the burrito, by the way… everything has its place). I can’t figure out yet where I’d place Rancheros in this scheme. On the one hand, they have nice Tacos al Pastor(crème de la crème of taco meat) which, even if the meat is not sliced from the slow-roasted spit a la gyros, is still juicy, flavorful, and served on scrumptious doubled-up tiny corn tortillas. You can taste the pineapple that is used to tenderize the pork, which is a good sign. The enchiladas are also sturdy, flavorful, and not over-cheesed; they make for a good light lunch. These are details that separate Rancheros from your average Tuesday night Strip Mall Don Pablo’s or Azteca experience. The menu, in the end, is still very burritoey and combo platey, however, and even the more traditional items seem to fall one detail short. I still prefer La Loma as the go-to Mexican street food in Akron. But, I’ve heard changes are coming at Ranchero’s in the near future, when they announce their new Spanish-only menu which will introduce more traditional dishes. As it stands, I’m still getting to know this menu, and I’ll have to update once I’ve made it down the road a little further.

To start off with, this place is not one of those restaurants where you indulge in the dining experience, but it offers some pretty good food! I ordered the bean mexican enchiladas and a bean taco and I savoured each dish right till the last bite. The beans were well cooked and the enchilada sauce had a nice flavor to it. To add to this, they offer complimentary chips and salsa as well. I got both the mild and medium spiced salsa, both of which had an authentic Mexican tinge to it. The service is friendly and quick and the only reason this place misses a start in my opinion is due to the ambience. My suggestion to the owners would be to go in for a minor renovation for the interiors and to go in for a upgrade in the cutlery and seating arrangements. Having said that, I also believe they should increase the price of each food item since, they are clearly under selling their business.

Tacos. If you come here get tacos! The tacos are not very big. When dining with another I typically get 3 sets of 3 tacos. If you are up for something different try the cow-tongue or tripas(small intestine) Mexican tacos!

We went on a spur of the moment«roadtrip» to get tacos one Friday and it was definitely worth the drive. After discovering La Plaza tacos, my husband has been obsessed with only eating authentic tacos. At build-your-own taco restaurants, he tries his best to recreate his favorite: al pastor with onions, cilantro, salsa verde, and lime. When we found Ranchero’s on Unilocal,we saw that a lot of the taco photos showed authentic tacos, with the double corn tortillas and simply dressed, so we knew we had to give it a try. We were both delighted with our meals – I had fish tacos and he had his usual al pastor. The chips and salsa were delicious! We ate all of the salsa pretty quickly and got a side of salsa verde – I tried a little bit of it and it was super spicy. I like spicy things, but I couldn’t bring myself to eat much more of that for fear of ruining my tastebuds for the rest of the meal. Despite being kind of far away, we’ll definitely be making the trek back here for some tacos in the future.

Muy muy autentico! Todos los comentarias otros en ingles pero este. Es como autentico este! Wait, what? Sorry. This place is so authentic I accidentally slipped into Spanish. When I took that first bite I screamed«¡Ay chinchilla! ¡Shut the front door!», but that was because we were seated next to the front door, and it was 19 degrees out. they could really use a vestibule but it would ruin the homeless Haitian décor. The bill was low, the lobster tacos were delicious, the margarita was strong, even the chips were above average. Wife says her face is burning after one $ 4 margarita. That’s a win for both of us! Close your eyes and it tastes like a high peso restaurant! It’s clean, yummy, and great service.

I stopped by on a Sunday night to try their tacos since it seems like everyone is raving about them. Being a fan of taco trucks, it was a must on the to do list. I ordered the al pastor and carnitas with cactus salad and my buddy got the fish tacos. I should’ve opted for the tongue instead of the carnitas. The tacos were pretty good but I love my taco truck versions. No salsa to go with unless you use the table salsa or the provided hot sauce. The taco trucks give you their own that makes it more special. These were also $ 7+ for 3 tacos. The taco truck I go to is only $ 1.50 each. Not to sound like a cheap a** but it baffles me why they always cost so much in the restaurants vs the trucks. Everything else on the menu is pretty cheap but the tacos are just so much more expensive than everything else. Weird. Instead of giving you diced onions, they serve them sautéed and it gives the tacos a whole different taste. I personally love onions but I felt like the cooked onions added a lot and took a lot away from the tacos at the same time. Cooked onions are something I see on American food. I have mixed feelings on that. I normally get the al pastor from my taco truck so my review will be biased. The taco was good as I said, but it’s just not the same to me. Mine are served with a slice of fresh pineapple and it makes it so delightful. If you’ve never had a fresh pineapple, you are missing out! It’s leaps and bounds better than the canned syrup stuff! The place has other stuff that I would like to try, but it is out if my way and I don’t think I would go out of my way to dine here again. I came for the tacos and wasn’t sold on them like the reviews have said. Sorry.
