CAFEBRICCO is costing the Doubletree return business. The Manager was unbelievably rude to us. We’ve visited the Doubletree the last 4 years for our anniversary, this will be the last time. After being locked on the patio the very rude manager of Bricco came to the door(I thought to let us in) and told us to jump the fence and go around to get back in. I’ve just spent over $ 200 between our room and service in Bricco and I’m being told to jump a fence?!? I don’t know who pissed in his Cheerio’s but it has cost the hotel my business. Customer service at its worst.

Let’s start by talking about the property. Relatively new with a few scrapes and scratches on furniture in the room. The two most important items: room was scrupulously clean and the bed semi comfortable for my old back. Just a tad too soft. Didn’t stop me from having a good nights sleep. The resto was fine with a wine list more extensive than I expected. Overall, the property deserves a solid 3 stars. So why 5. Simple… in my 50 some odd years on this blue marble, I have never, NEVER experienced the level of service from staff that I did at this hotel! From the front office staff to the event manager to the wonderful folks in the bistro… oh my cow, all of them treated us as if we were royalty! For perspective, the previous week I had stayed in an über high class hotel($ 700 per night) and the service was subpar in comparison(though to be honest, the ginormous tub in the über hotel did have its attraction). That being said, I will not hesitate to stay at this hotel in the future and… well this might seem an odd thing to say… I might find a reason to stay in Fairlawn/Akron just to stay here! Really really great folks! Ps and by royalty, my comparison is with the service that Joseph II of Austria received. Just so we’re all clear. And I don’t want to forget housekeeping. Extraordinaire!

Nice hotel in terms of cleanliness and service, but definitely not for the business person. They do not serve breakfast until 7 or 730am and do not have complimentary coffee in the lobby. I was offered a breakfast goodie bag(perhaps because I have hilton honors gold status) since the restaurant would not be open when I was scheduled to check out and leave in the morning(around 630am, nothing outrageous). It simply contained juice and a muffin.

Besides the Hilton it’s prob. Best property in area. Linens are really soft, down pillows are great. Water nice and hot. Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries are nice. Décor is modern and rooms are clean feeling. Heating cooling unit was next to desk. Internet connection speed was average. Rooms do not have microwaves or fridges. The room trash bins have a recycling container section. Breakfast in restaurant was good. No buffet but menu was reasonable prices. Parking is a bit hard, there is no side entrance, so I had to walk a ways in the snow. There is shopping mall and restaurants across the street you could walk to. Further away tons of shopping. Def stay here if in area nice place.

Nice room. Updated. Clean. I think I have an elephant staying above me but I’m not sure anything can be done about that. Dinner at the restaurant was good. Would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again.

This is my first time staying in Doubletree hotel. The front desk is very friendly especially offering you a warm gooey chocolate chip cookie. The room is really nice and clean. A lot of details and attention on room setups. The most important is the bed. It’s really comfortable with nice soft pillow and soft fluffy mattress. The sitting chair is normal hotel chair which is hard. The only negative I have is the TV remote that doesn’t work well. The place was packed on Saturday night. Definitely will go back there to stay when I am around Akron.

Disappointed… I’m a HHonors Member and stay at many Hilton properties now I know why I stay away from Doubletree. This location had old rooms, shotty TV connections, old carpet and that itchy feeling you get from a hotel when you walk in like.“when will a bug appear”. Location was decent as a mall was across the street The restaurant saved them from having a 1 star review. Check in lady could have been more courteous but hey, it was raining.

We chose the Akron Doubletree hotel for our visit back to the land of my upbringing because it was located centrally to the various places we were visiting and it is near a lot of restaurants, stores, and the big Summit Mall. The room we got was clean, reasonably priced, and very comfy(except the couch – that wasn’t comfy). It had everything we needed. The staff was friendly and helpful, and they gave us cookies. Parking is free, and the hotel is easily accessible from major highways. Like many hotels, the walls are somewhat thin. Late on Friday night, exhausted from our revelry and reuinions, we returned to our room hoping to get some easy sleep. Unfortunately, a herd of erotically-charged buffalo were in the room upstairs from us. In addition to dribbling bowling balls while they walked, they had audible gas issues. All in all, though, a very good experience.
