The Star Advertiser’s FREE Couponing Event

Thanks to Jace’s ( Unilocal Intern) calendar event, I looked into this event and signed up for 2 free tickets on the Event Brite website and they sent them straight to my email. I have never clipped coupons on a regular basis and didn’t know about any of the tips and tricks that smart and savvy shoppers use on a regular basis. This event sure changed that!
The events are held at the Pearl Country Club in Aiea and are free to the public but you need to RSVP as seats are limited. When you check in, they give you an order form, some useful couponing and sale info and a raffle ticket. The order form is for discounted Star Advertiser subscriptions that contain the valuable coupon inserts. After a couple of short introductions and a brief overview, they started to give away gift cards filing boxes for our coupons using the raffle tickets. The grand prize, after they gave away all of the gift cards was…*drum roll please… a tablet! Yup, they’re pretty awesome!
They showed us a quick video on how much one can save couponing the smart way and then Shannon Jones shared her tips with us and also told us about a very useful website for shopping and saving. Everything she said was very informative and useful. I think that everyone who buys household products-​so, everyone-​should attend this event to learn how to save a ton of money when they shop.
We didn’t go home empty-handed…we subscribed to the newspaper and as a thank you, we received Longs gift cards and filing box for our coupons. Don’t fret-they’ll be back in March for another event!
