Yo, I remember this when it was free for me(being a toddler). and I remember it costing quarters, now it’s $ 1 each. But my mom has a cane and they let her ride free which is nice, because we usually do one side or the other because parking is tough and walking is too far for her.

I’m still learning my way around the mall, so this was really helpful when I parked on the wrong side of the mall and didn’t want to try to navigate my way by foot. It isn’t expensive, but it moves slow.

Back in the day as a youth, I always remember going on and riding on the monorail. I thought it was so cool and it is still cool today. The monorail is the only rail transit system in Hawaii(for now) but it is only limited to the Pearlridge Shopping Center going from one side of the mall to the other(UpTown to DownTown, vice versa). Back in the day, it was only a quarter. Now, it is 2 quarters, 50 cents. Unless, you are too lazy to walk from one side of the mall to the other, I would suggest save your 50 cents to travel by foot. There is also the little courtesy mall taxis that can drive you around the mall if you don’t want to walk. I would ride the monorail mostly for the ride and scenic view of the mall but all you are pretty seeing is the UpTown parking lot. As I kid, I used to think someone is driving the monorail but in reality it’s all electronically machine powered by the mall’s operating systems. Overall, it’s a nice ride. I think it’s a good spot to take guests over. Unilocal 365 Challenge #253/365
