So roy has started one of my major cover ups. I had so many artists turn me down and he was the only one up for the challenge. I’m so happy and excited. His tattoos really look like beautiful more than exquisite art pieces. I can’t believe I went from ghetto –mistake –in Florida –200 –messed up pin up– tattoo, to this amazing asian piece! My beautiful new tattoo. Not finished yet but looks 100 times better. I was expecting to cover it with something I didn’t want but had to or getting it laser ed off. But I’m so glad roy helped me out. I can’t even express. How happy. I’m so fucking happy.

My best friend Pepper happened to be a tattooer in this shop & recently gave me two fabulous tattoos. The best part is if she wasn’t my best friend, her work is so well done I would have trusted her anyway. So back to my tattoos! I already had some tiny black stars on my foot that she was going to add a moon too. We also decided to make some of my stars bigger to add some contrast. It turned out beautiful & she made me this glorious henna, romantic, edgy mood. I love how it turned out! She also made me a bee universe tattoo on my thigh. The details on the bee are so lovely, especially the shading. My favorite part is the watercolor style splash behind the bee. It’s rainbow colored and fun. Surrounding the bee are astrological like symbols. It’s powerful. I was pleased by my experience here and the professionalism Pepper showed. All around I was super pleased with my birthday tattoo adventure :) Thanks Red Diamond and thank you Pepper! You’re a true artist.

Roy Uno has done several tattoos on myself as well as my wife. I see no one else for my work. He’s one of the best.

I can’t say enough about how great Roy Uno is. I love his work and my tattoo is perfect. It was my fist one and I was pretty nervous. Uno was really patient and gentle. He explained everything he was doing so that I felt very comfortable. I get stopped daily by people complimenting it on the expert shading and detail. This guy doesn’t just draw and trace on skin he truly is an artist! Expect them to be busy and to wait a month plus to get an appointment depending on which artist you go to see. But thats what happens when you are good and charge reasonable prices!

This last weekend was the Pacific Ink and Art Expo. I stumbled across Red Diamond Tattoo and Bodyworks. I do not recall the artist, who helped me out; but he was legit. and hilarious. He confidently stated that he knew baybayin. He saw my drawing and knew how to redraw it and prep it. Being that I am a medical professional, I pay attention to the preparation. I watched him diligently clean the surface with a cleaning solution. Then, he placed a number of strips of saran wrap on the arm rest and working stage. He pulled out a fresh needle, sanitized instruments, and fresh ink.
He placed the design of the tattoo on my arm, and confirmed with me the placement. When I stated that it was too low, he gladly repositioned the outline.
One of the most important parts of getting a tattoo is being able to talk story. The artist and I talked throughout the session with some good laughs and stories. He even invited me over for some of the party nights.
If you are a new-​by or tattoo veteran, I highly suggest these guys as they are meticulous about keeping a sterile field and are willing to work with you to get that ideal design/​position for your tattoo.

This Is not so much a review of Red Diamond Tattoo as much as a review of one of the artists that works there. Roy Uno is one of, if not the best tattoo artists that I have had the pleasure (and pain) of knowing. My wife and I are proud to display his work on our bodies, quite honestly, I’m not really sure I would want anyone else tattooing me. His patience, attention to detail, and mastery of his craft are what makes him the best. Getting an appt. with him is very difficult, so have multiple dates in mind.

When I was 19, I got an absolutely hideous tattoo on my hip. I went in asking for a cover-​up. I warned them that I was a complete baby about pain, and they were cool about it. They tried to make me as comfortable as possible and even let me call my parents for moral support through the worst of it. They did not make fun of me, at least not to my face, and hell, I would have made fun of me for that! So three sessions and a lot of tears later, I no longer have to look at the awful tattoo I got at 19, and get to look at an absolutely gorgeous piece of artwork. THANK YOU, RED DIAMOND CREW!
