Normally a very nice place to eat, relax and cool down. For some reason, we were assaulted with loud music off of the radio, which they could not turn the volume down(no manager on site). We felt like packing the food up, and going home to eat. I don’t blame the workers, but having been in the food service industry, this situation was unacceptable. I can’t believe that the management could be so thoughtless to it’s customers, that they wouldn’t entrust the ability to their sound system to at least one of their workers, per shift. Very disappointed. May have to change our choices of eating establishments.

I got the tan tan pork ramen. It looks way better than it taste. I was turned off bc we got seated at a table with the chairs all wet and dirty like they didn’t even check to see if the tables and chairs were clean to seat customers. The food is ok just way over priced.

Goma Tei as chain: My dining companion and I fell in love with this local chain! Their ramen is wonderful, and they have oodles of noodle choices. Specializing in Szechuan and sesame flavors, it’s definitely a different take on Japanese ramen. Their chicken, pork, and beef are all great quality– I have never been disappointed. The broth is flavorful, ranging from spicy to succulent. The curry rices are all delicious; great thick curry with large fresh vegetables. Like most ramen shops, spicy oil, shoyu, and other condiments are plentiful on the counters and tables. Prices for the quality and portion size are fair, it’s never a disappointment to eat here! Pearl Ridge location: This shop is located inside the Uptown portion of the mall, with its own entrance to the parking lot. It can also be accessed in the mall, toward the end near TJ Maxx. The restaurant is the largest location, with a long two sided bar along one wall, and lots of double and 4-person tables filling the rest of the restaurant. The employees all looked about high school age and seemed happy and energetic to be working there. It’s a solid place to eat in the mall for something healthy and delicious!

Dinner date with my two year old tonight. We shared Wakeme shoyu ramen and order of the fat tasty gyoza. Friendly staff and quick to refill the water even on a busy evening.

Decided to come here for lunch with my mom for some pre-shopping fuel. We split the mabo tofu ramen and gyoza. Apparently, the gyoza has a very«meaty» smell, which my mom is very sensitive to, so I ended up eating most of the gyoza. If that type of thing doesn’t bother you, the portions for the pieces are great. The taste is better than average, but I’ve had better. The mabo tofu ramen was just okay. I’ve definitely had(and made) better, but it’s just my go-to order at ramen establishments, when it’s offered on the menu. Also, customer services was very… meh. They did not talk to us(or anyone else, really) unless they had to. No greeting, just delivered menus, took the order, brought the food, filled water, and processed the check. No fluff or frills. To some people this is fine. It just bothered me that all of the staff members were talking to each other instead of providing customer service. Granted, it was kind of slow that day, so the energy was pretty low, but I think that’s even more reason why there are opportunities for providing a pleasant experience for diners. Not really tempted to go again, but if I do, I think I would probably be fine with a plate of just their gyoza, since the portions are great.

Thought I’d give them another chance a went to eat there today. Service oat be same and to make matters worse they now turn the air conditioning off and leave the front door open for ventilation. They’re trying to use the malls a/c to their advantage and to save on their utility bill I assume. How do they expect customers to eat hot ramen in the hot restaurant? — — — — — — — — — — — — – The Pearlridge location is so opposite from the Ala Moana, Ward and Kahala location. All have public bathrooms and allows customers to use them except Pearlridge. When asked to use it the workers said the restrooms are only for employees even though there are signs above them clearly identifying them as Men and Women bathrooms. This is the last time I’m going to that location. Must be a franchise. Compared to the Ward Centre and Ala Moana location this one need much improvement in service. After standing around talking stories the staff opens up late for lunch then decide to put on their apron and lay out the floor mats. They need an adult manager because the entire staff is young and it’s quite obvious does not know how to manage a restaurant business. I saw many potential customers walk away because of the late opening.

Been here on several occasions during my long breaks. The Ramen here is always tasty and filling, as well as their curry and rice. But, what keeps me coming back are their juicy goma wings! That’s right, an appetizer. No where else, at that price, can you find wings that plump and so well seasoned. If you’re over 21, they do card, order a cold glass of Kirin to make a well made match! Can’t wait for my next visit.

One of three Goma Tei restaurants on the island that I know of. I have been to the Ala Moana Center and Ward Centre locations before. On January 6, 2016 Wednesday afternoon was the first time that I stepped foot into the Pearlridge Uptown location. This establishment can be accessed by mall entrance or by the parking lot. My mother and I was debating on whether to have sushi for late lunch or ramen. Ramen ended up being our choice to eat. As we looked over the menu on the window I had explained to my mom the difference between tan tan base and shoyu base ramens. Since my mom is not much of a spicy person I had referred her to eat a shoyu base ramen. My mom ordered the Shoyu Ramen that came with one char siu. I ordered the Char Siu Shoyu Ramen and it came with three char siu. I love that the char siu was the thick rolled version instead of the red food colored char siu. The char siu was really soft for my mom to eat, after all she no more teeth and refused to use her dentures. The two male waiters that were working this afternoon was very attentive. One refilled our cups of water and the other gave us extra napkins. They both seemed very friendly too. The establishment is really nice and spacious. There’s counter seatings for individuals who come in alone or for couples. Plus there are tables that can seat four individuals. It’s a good location for the elderly(those with a walker or wheelchair) to dine in and enjoy lunch. Knocked off one star since I seen a liquid spillage near a table that had not been cleaned up. Otherwise everything else was great. 9⁄200

First of all I would like to say that the décor of the place is great but the service was alright. The waiter felt kind of pushy it felt like he was in a rush, which makes no sense because they were not busy. I ordered the teriyaki chicken which was alright nothing special, I’ve had better. Overall it was an ok experience.

It was a Thursday night at dinner time when we got here. Pearlridge was ridiculously busy with Christmas shoppers, you just had to be lucky to find parking, no matter where… I guess we got to Goma Tei at the right time, we got seated immediately, didn’t have to sign in. The server got our order for our drinks immediately, and took our order in no time. Our food got served quickly. We can see people waiting out the door, must have been about 7 – 10 parties, waiting. All the tables at this point was taken. What I love about Goma Tei, is the tables are seated far apart for your comfort. They can actually fit a lot of extra tables, if they wanted to, but the seating would be too close together. This time, the AC was perfect, the waiter kept on filling our water, and we didn’t feel rushed out despite the people waiting to get it. I got my usual, tan tan ramen, and it is consistently delicious. Noodles are thin and al dente, the broth is super flavorful, and the pork so soft, you can cut a piece using your chop stick. Extra pleased with our recent visit.

This place was ok. I had the mabo tofu ramen and it was ok, but I lost my appetite watching this couple make out in front of me. Ugh. Note to self, don’t get the counter seat again.

I don’t know why I had no idea this location existed! Maybe it’s because I hardly make it out to Pearlridge these days. We had lunch here with friends yesterday after church and my husband and I were surprised to hear that there was a Goma Tei at Pearlridge. Goma Tei is my husband’s favorite place to go for ramen. He LOVES their tan tan broth and usually orders the seafood tan tan ramen. I, on the other hand, am not much of a tan tan fan(it’s too oily for me and I don’t really care for the sesame flavor), but I can always find something to order from their menu. I really enjoy their katsu curry rice(which is what I ordered yesterday). Their katsu is cooked perfectly, and the meat is never tough! I also really enjoy their vegetable cold noodle! I really liked this particular location at Pearlridge. It was pretty crowded, being that it was a Sunday at lunchtime. But we didn’t have to wait long for a table. I was impressed with the size of the restaurant. It reminds me of the Ala Moana location. Now that we know there’s a Goma Tei at Pearlridge, I’m sure we will be back again soon!

The first time I ate at Gome Tei I had the tantan ramen and left unsatisfied. My boyfriend could eat ramen all day every day so naturally he took me back here and I tried the sunho ramen instead. Love at first bite! I love the sourness to the broth. I don’t know how I didn’t order it the first time. I generally don’t like shoyu or miso-tasting broth so the sour and spicy sunho has been a god send to me. I actually don’t care for ramen that much(I’m a plain saimin person) so even more so the sunho has been a god send to me. It’s always busy when we go but once we’ve been seated, we can order, eat, and pay and be out the door in under forty-five minutes.

I love ramen! Me and my boyfriend always come here to the Pearl city location when we are in the mood for hot and soupy ramen! It’s great if your shopping at the mall or to grab a quick bite before you go shopping. Good service and plenty of seating! I wish they had hot tea or more beverage options! They do have a few beers on their menu however. The pricing is good and they bring you your food out very fast! If you like ramen go to Goma Tei. They also have appetizers like pot stickers and curry rice! They always give big portions, I always end up with left overs. After my first time eating here I liked it so much I made my own ramen at home with thicker noodles and my own shoyu broth! And of course shoyu egg! Yum yum, enjoy! This time my boyfriend ordered the chicken tatsutaage and it was a huge portion! However he said he has had better!

My coworkers and I came here for lunch(on a Monday) to treat ourselves for working hard. It was pretty empty and we sat at the counter since there were five of us. The tables that were available only had four seats. We had super fast service, which is highly appreciated when on a limited lunch break. We were given glasses of water immediately and handed menus. There was a variety of noodles and curry rice plates, I asked the server if there were«mini» plates, and there were none on the menu. I ordered the katsu curry rice plate. There is no chicken katsu here, only pork katsu. My coworker next to me ordered the tan tan ramen. Our food came quickly and was so delicious! I’m glad I wasn’t able to order a mini because I ate the whole plate. The curry was delicious and not too spicy, the pork katsu was soft and crispy. My coworker gave me a piece of her charsiu from her tan tan ramen and it was very tasty. I normally do not like char siu, but this one was brown not the red kind, and very tasty and soft. Check out was quick and all of us left happy and satisfied. I was very pleased that this place had a good vibe, very clean, fast friendly efficient staff, and yummy food. Prices average about $ 8 – 12 per plate. I will be returning here.

I’d never known ramen to be so tasty before coming to Goma Tei… Okay. Maybe that’s a bit of a fib because Agu has some bomb ramen. Luckily though, that gave me something to compare Goma Tei to. I usually get extra spice added to my ramen just to make it spicy enough for me, but regardless, the soup broth is delicious and the star of the show for me is the ramen itself. I’m a picky ramen person. I understand that most places have very tender ramen and that’s kind of normal. Think: S&S brand tender. For me though, I can’t do tender. I need there to be a certain rubbery, just-right«springiness» to noodles. I’m not sure what the best term for it is, but if we were describing pasta or spaghetti, it would be «al-dente.» I will always come to Goma Tei for my ramen when I’m in the area because the style of the noodle is perfect, in my opinion. It’s not too chewy, not too tender, and it really honestly makes the dish just all that much better, despite adding nothing to the flavor. Texture is important! The only thing I’m sad about so far is that there usually isn’t enough noodles for me. I have to actually order a side of noodles to eat with the rest of my broth after my first batch is done. From now on, I think I will ask for it from the start. :)

Visited the Pearlridge Mall location of Goma Tei. We’ve been a fan of the Ward location for a while and love that they are open close to where we live. The Pearlridge site is very large so you normally don’t have to wait long even if there is a line. Food: I appreciate that the food is consistent from location to location. I normally order the Char Siu TanTan ramen but this evening I wanted something different so went with the Tonkatsu Curry rice dish, gyoza, and a nice frosty draft beer. The curry is done well here, chunks of carrots and chicken in the curry poured over a portion of Tonakatsu. The katsu was decent, not oily, crunchy exterior that held up to the curry. Gyoza as was good and I appreciate that it’s on the larger size. Service: The service has always been a plus in my experience. We had counter seating, the food came quickly. Due to the layout of this restaurant the servers have to do a lot of back and forth travelling bur they were always attentive and checked on us often. Atmosphere: Large, airy, they probably could increase capacity by 25% without the place feeling cramped. Loud, bustling, just like a ramen shop should be! Value: Okay value, might be a little on the pricey side for ramen for some but the portions are generous with good quality ingredients more than make up for it. Overall: Okay. not gonna lie. i appreciate that they have draft beers. something about a cold frosty draft to go with a steaming bowl of noodles just ups the game for me! The tantan is tasty without being overly spicy and they have a lot of other options(hamburger steak, katsu, curry, etc) if someone in your party is not feeling the noodles that day.

Located in Pearlridge uptown in the newer wing, towards where Robeks and TJ Maxx are. I didn’t really come here by choice, as I’m not really a fan of ramen. I only agreed to come here as they have other options such as katsu curry and loco moco. There was a very short wait, but the place was busier than I expected. Service was fast and friendly. I had the pork katsu curry, which was really delicious, but I’m used to larger portions like those given at Daiichi and Curry House. The curry itself has shredded pieces of chicken in it, which does make it a lot heartier tasting than the other aforementioned curry places. The chicken tatsutaage side is a huge portion for the price, and it was probably the best thing I had from there. It tastes very similar to chicken karaage(sorry don’t know what the difference is). It did come a few minutes after the rest of the food, but it’s worth the wait. Overall, I’d be back. Especially for that tatsutaage!

I’m not a huge fan of ramen, but I’ll eat it when I’m in the mood or when my boyfriend is craving something hot and soupy. It’s located near T.J. Maxx in Pearlridge Shopping Center — Uptown side. There’s lots of parking available and the restaurant is pretty spacious. We’ve only been to this spot a couple times and not once did we have to wait. Either our timing has been great or we just been super lucky lol. Service here is always quick, most meals are under $ 10 and the servers are always friendly. I’ve tried their mapo tofu ramen and it’s not that good. The consistency is all wrong; it’s watery, oily and has no taste. I do like their gyoza and char siu tan tan ramen though. But the ramen tends to be more oily. For an additional $ 3.95, you can add their small side of curry rice, which is a plus.

Goma Tei was my go to spot for ramen before all theses noodle shops started popping up. It still hits the spot for me. I love their seafood tan tan. That’s what I always get when I go here. I’ve been to the one here at Pearlridge a few times but I usually frequent the one at Ala Moana. There’s always a wait at the Ala Moana location. It’s less traffic here. We stopped by here for lunch since we were in the vicinity. The restaurant was less than half full. I ordered the seafood tan tan along with the chicken tatsutaage. The hubby got the teriyaki chicken bowl. The chicken tatsutaage was awesome. Seven pieces of boneless chicken pieces fried to perfection. The chicken was marinated in a mix of ginger, garlic and fruit sauce before being fried. This sauce makes all the difference. When the fried chicken is dipped in their house tonkatsu sauce, it’s killer. They only give you a little of the sauce on the plate so I always ask for a side of sauce. The seafood tan tan was way too salty today. I can’t remember it ever being this salty. I still love the taste and aroma of the broth though. It came with a decent portion of shrimp, scallops and calamari. Thank you for using regular grade scallops and none of the bay scallops. I can’t stand it when restaurants put scallops on their menu and then serve those tiny little bay scallops. I didn’t try the teriyaki chicken bowl. It automatically comes with a sunny side up egg on the chicken and rice. They don’t ask you how you want your egg. The hubby was a little freaked out because he eats his eggs fully cooked. However, he broke the yolk and just mixed everything in the bowl together. He actually liked it and said that it was yummy.
