My daughters 8&11 just finished theatre summer camp and performed in the Wizard of Oz. They had a great time, learned how to act and sing, and perform in front of a live audience. Cindy is an amazing director and great with the kids. We are looking forward to having our girls in future programs.

My daughter is taking singing and guitar lessons here and loves them both. She is a teenager so her opinion is highly critical! We received a free electric guitar when we signed up for 10 guitar lessons pre– paid Great deal! Our singing teacher is very encouraging and hip.(He is in a band) Roger and Cindy are great people. I called to cancel last minute and he didn’t penalize me for missing. Instead he joked that he would charge me double! Great place all around!

I had to update my review, now that Center Stage has really gotten«up and running» with their programs, camps, workshops and more. My kids(now ages 9, 12&13) have been in and out of activities for their entire lives, getting bored of soccer or dance or piano… but they’ve been happy students at Center Stage for two years now, which a record for us! Center Stage is a mecca for music and theater. My kids have been involved in several of their kids’ theater productions, with varied roles that have allowed them to see all aspects of the theater experience. They’ve been involved in a few«Rock the Band» camps, a «Broadway on Screen» camp(so fun! they’re filmed documentary-style as they prepare for the big show, so you get to see both the show AND the«behind the scenes» movie!). The small size of Center Stage has really enabled them to feel comfortable on stage, a skill that carries over into their lives — they’re not afraid to speak in public and don’t experience stage fright. My husband and I are also big fans of Center Stage because it’s run by two incredibly professional and talented people — Roger is a longtime musician and Cindy is a filmmaker/producer. Their teachers are working musicians, actors and directors, who have a lot of experience, talent and passion. My former singing teacher, Sean Fleming, is now a member of Foxygen and touring internationally, and a few of the current music teachers are members of Infantree, a local band that has toured with Neil Young. Carlos, another working musician with years of experience, has taught my kids EVERY intstrument — drums, bass, guitar, keyboards — and sometimes my kids switch off on which instruments they want to play at their weekly lessons because they know Carlos can teach anything! I read Nick L.‘s review from last year and I guess I recognize that Center Stage may not be for everyone — I mean, I’m not from NYC, so maybe I don’t have the same expectations for my kids to learn stuff from«the best in the business»(which sounds both pretentious and subjective to me; I mean, who says that stuff???). But if you’re looking for a solid, nurturing place that will allow your child’s own natural talents to shine, Center Stage Agoura is the place!
