Blue is gone. It’s now a biker bar, Slingers… and I’ll guess it’ll make it another 3 months.

Blue is a place that has become a fixture for me. It’s a wanna be Beverly Hills like lounge stuck in Agoura Hills. It’s really a cool place, and the people that work there are awesome! I tend to go there with my friends that I produce films with at the studio in Westlake, and we always have a blast! We’ve even done a couple wrap parties here… If you hate this kind of place, then you’ll hate Blue, but if you can find coherence, like I do, in this environment, then you’ll love it, and you’ll also join me for a drink around happy hour on wednesday…

I went here about a month ago with my girl friends on there thursday night college night. I think we were the only people in the place they were charging $ 15 at the door for us but they let us in for $ 40 for the 6 of us but not worth it. we were like the only ones there plus they were doing a foam party or something? we got our money back and found a cool club right down the street that was packed and only $ 10.

Save your time, save your money, again save your time. I’ve been here three times(I’ve got a friend in a band that plays here on occasion) and the service has gotten progressively worse with each visit. From the time we were seated(around 8:00 p.m.) it took over 40 minutes for the waitress(very loose term) to take our food order and another 40 to bring the food after that. The food is okay, but the service killed our appetites. The place is way too loud, the bartenders can’t even hear you order, and the drinks are way over-priced and watered down, to boot. If I ever go to hear my friend’s band play here again, I’ll stop at Jack in the Box on the way and carry my flask in my pocket. Cover charge, WHAT A JOKE!

I heard some of my friends talk about how they loved this place but I would hugely disagree. The drinks were expensive and did not have much alcohol in them. They had a band play that sounded right out of a garage. The DJ was OK but did not mix well. The Dance floor was small and the crowd dancing were my parents age. They charged a $ 20 cover which I was so surprised about since it is in Agora and the place is not high scale, but Thank God I did not pay because it would have been a rip off. The only nice thing about the place is they have an outside bar with patio that does not get too crowd, besides that nothing special.

I’ve been to this twice and was unimpressed both times. I came here last saturday. There was a cover charge(didn’t pay it) but it would not be worth whatever it was that night. Around 10pm they had a live band performing. It was really annoying cause I didn’t sign up to go to a bar listen to music that my parents would rock out to with a crowd that looks like my parents age. When the Dj did come on around 10:45pm he blowed. I didn’t bother buying drinks cause I knew I wasn’t sticking around all night, but from what I did try the drinks were watered down. More over than anything it was the crowd that I wasn’t feeling. Too many old people and girls who stared you down for no reason.(High School BS) I don’t know what the deal was but I wouldn’t come here again.

I had a great time at this place. Another one of those out here in the 805 that make me not wanna go back to Hollywood clubs. Parking was a breeze. I got street parking right across from Blue. There are also two parking lots. It’s got easy freeway access. 805 =1, Hollywood =0 They played a mix of old school and top 40. I was there for a party with LMFAO’s own polka dot bikini girl so we got some nice treatment. Cover is usually $ 10, it seems, but we didn’t have to pay that night. We got treated well, was given 3 rounds of complimentary kamikaze shots for our party, and got our table moved from the pool table area to the stage. And, with all that, I had a great time with my friends, no one was grabby(minus one dude who hit up 3 of us), people just did their thing and had fun. There was a bunch of fans of hers that would come and go on the stage. Overall, it was just a nice place with a lot of nice people just out to enjoy the night.

Blue: the place if you want to see everyone you ever went to high school with! :D Ok so I give this a 3 because I feel like I am at a high school reunion! I must admit this place is pretty decent for being in the 805 realm. I’ve been on fridays, saturdays and thurs. However, thurs. are 18+ and OMG crowded beyon belief. This one thurs did not have a 21+ line! So make sure before you go call and see. B/c trust me not worth to stand in a line. I’m sry I’m 22 I buy drinks and make you money under 21 doesn’t. LOL Good thing about Blue is that it is not so pretentious as most places like Hollywood, so I would say that’s a plus. They play the top 40’s, dance music, and hip-hop on fridays. Man parking can be a pain. We parked up this hill and be careful b/c I was lucky to get out. A car double parked, massive SUV. I only got thru with help from a friend. No joke I was an 1 inch close to the cars next to me! INSIDE: a bar, a somewhat decent dance floor, nothing over the top, could be a bit bigger. They have a stage and a cage for girls to dance in, in the middle of the floor. HAHA uhhh i’ll leave my comments on that to myself. OUTSIDE: have heat lamps, a small bar, chairs/tables. I’ve been for dinner and it is nothing special. Have been on the wkends and there is a cover charge if you get there after 10 – 1030 or so. I suggest getting there a bit earlier that way you don’t have to pay. Bring cash, its much easier. The drinks are ok, not weak but not very strong either. I’m a black label and coke kind of girl and that drink cost about $ 10. Which when I party in SB its about the same price. But I can usally get it cheaper for $ 7. Therefore, the price is not bad. Bartenders are not hard to get a hold of girl or guy, thats a def plus. The guys there are a little pushy, but you can expect that from any bar/club. I wish some guys would just ask to dance rather than grind their«parts» on me from behind, like as though they think I’m going to swoon over them. Uhhhh clearly mistaken. :D Overall, this place is a hangout where you can come with some friends, get a drink, dance and save yourself the drive to Hollywood and save yourself the money as well. A place where you can see some«old friends,» might meet some«new» ones as well.

Blue in Agoura Hills is my new hangout. Back in the Day Hollywood was the place, then for some reason if you have a guy and not a girl you don’t get in unless you buy a bottle. BS, so I headed over to Pasadena and did that for a while. Now Pasadena is trying to be Hollywood, I live in Woodland Hills so I tried blue. I would have never ever gone here except I went for a Christmas party and after it was over I stayed. I have been going back ever since. Drinks are decently priced, cover is decent, and the people are great. I am actually going to celebrate my birthday here in about 2 weeks. You don’t have to worry about your girl being molested by 20 guys like in LA if you go to the bathroom. I haven’t seen any fights, and the vibe is great. Yeah, they could make this place better — but then you may have to pay more. So for a great night out, I say Blue, of course for the all nighters with out of town visitors Hollyweird is best.

I give this place two stars because I was in good company. If I had worse company, I’d give it a one. This place is like the go-to place for the more«mature» crowd(read: my date ran into the parents of a friend of his and I saw about 10 single or possibly married 40 – 50 year old men looking for ladies to mingle with), and has a smattering of just-21s and some in betweeners. That doesn’t un-suck the music or un-suck the ridiculously priced drinks. I’ve not been here since I went that one time. It was just weird seeing all the people from my high school and the other local high school that apparently never escaped their parents’ basements or feel the need to congregate here of all places. I’m sure it is right for die-hard valley denizens, but I really feel like the space could be better used for what it is. Someone should hire a better DJ.

I absolutely love this place! There is an amazing 80’s rock cover band that plays on Saturday nights at 9:00pm! If you get there before the bands starts, there is no cover! The band is hysterical to watch(they wear spandex and wigs) but are really great! The singer has an amazing voice and they always put on an awesome show. After the band, a DJ starts immediately… which is okay but the band is so much more fun! The people that partake here are laid back and are a fun bunch of people. I have never really seen anyone get crazy out of control. The bouncers, wait staff… everyone is great! The food is really good, you could have dinner and then stay for the show! This place is a fun place to go and has a great atomosphere! The band’s name is White Leppard… I am telling you, don’t miss it!

Great New Years Packages… Shuttle/Limo ride to and from hotel room, hotel room, dinner, champagne toast, party favors, and trapeze artists hanging from the ceiling all for under $ 200 you can’t beat that… I have brought the New Year in here for a few years now. I will be back!

Never even knew about this place until my friend suggested to go. Typical hip hop crap club. Got in for free cuz my friend knows one of the promoters. I don’t like hip hop but I gave it a go. Not really going… Talked to a bunch of peeps and had a few decent conversations, but most girls were with guys and the single girls were stuck up, even the *gag* ones. I guess it goes with the pompous gold diggin neighborhood. At least we talked to ppl. There was one dude with curly hair that stood next to the fireplace all night long. Pretty sad. I guess he never graduated from high school parties. Lucky we didn’t pay cover.

Ehhhhhhhhhhhh… Seriously…Just ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh… Alright folks… Let’s get this straight… I’m from Simi Valley… Simi Freakin’ Valley… I was not born there, but I spent a good portion of my growing there… Clubs and bars out here(and by here, I mean Agoura, Westlake, Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, and Moorpark) will never amount to the ritz and ahhhhs of any major metropolitan area such as Los Angeles, Vegas, New York, San Fran… So with that said, you can’t really expect much… I’ve been to Blue a several times in my day… hahaha…I was going here much more before Candlelight opened up… The drinks are ehhhhh… The food is ehhhhh… The people? I do not enjoy the high school reunion feel… A lot of familiar faces from all the high schools in the area plus/minus 4 years from my graduating class… Guys are sleezy and the girls all have that Asian circle feel… ugh… The music? I don’t know, maybe I’m spoiled on this end by knowing a few professional DJ’s that showed me how to really mix and control a crowd… The resident DJ is mediocre at best… And he plays the same stuff every week… EVERYWEEK… Parking…Really a hit or miss… I’d show up early if you don’t feel like hiking… Careful, it’s dark… Cover…Hit or miss here too… Some nights, none… Others, 10−15… It gets hot on the small dance floor, but shouldn’t you get a little warm while dancing? Company will make or break your night here… Bring your best wingmen/wingwomen and preparty like you’re getting drunk before going to homecoming… Am I biased? Of course… Please forward any comments to my inbox…

Ridiculously high cover. Fake plasticky girls and frat guys. Crap music. Yet still this place holds a somewhat nostalgic spot in my heart, only because of all the nights we spent here on summer breaks from college, or post-grad when we were still in the 805. Thankfully, we did eventually grow out of our totally unfounded desire to ever spend time here.

There are plenty of places that effectively pull off the«house turned into a bar» motif, but«Blue» is not one of them. Never mind the fact that it’s in the suburbs and still doesn’t have enough parking. Never mind the fact that there is still a cover charge. And never mind the fact that it’s crawling with cougar and dudes stuck in the 80s. It’s mainly the fact that it feels like this place spends all their profit every month of the rent and has nothing left over to keep this place from feeling like an unfinished rec room. My friend from the 3rd grade had a cooler finished-off basement. On the plus side, the mixed drinks were pretty strong. Not particularly good or visually stunning, but strong. But you could probably make better at home. Decent selection of bottled beer and Fat Tire on tap. And on another note, the place is so loud that if, say, you were to go back to different bartenders for every drink you order, chances are they won’t get your name right for the tab. I’m not saying it’s right, I’m just saying that if you got stiffed somewhere else, maybe things will balance themselves out at Blue. Oh, and try to keep from laughing at the 80s hair metal cover band that takes itself very, very, VERY serious. Otherwise the drunk, 40-year old divorcee will start giving you the stink eye.

Ok, so for some reason this place holds a special place in my cold black heart. I’ve eaten here once before their remodel and apparent menu makeover and was much less than impressed. However, Blue is my go-to bar/dance place when it’s just time to hang with the girls. There does tend to be a certain crown of older women and older men looking to take some young meat home for the night… but they are usually out of there early in the night, as it their or their kid’s bed time. The DJ spins pop stuff from rap to Britney, but if you can shake your butt to that stuff, then you’re all good. I’ve only gone on Friday and Saturday nights for the dancing, but other nights they have comedy, live local bands and cover bands. Don’t go expecting to be bedazzled in any certain way. Just a fun place to hang out with your friends and small-talk(or not, it’s easy to ditch people you don’t want to talk to) with the college/just out of college crowd.

I don’t know if it was off season or whatever but just last month on a Friday a bunch of us met at Blue for my roommates 34th bday. We were the only people there with the band. Of course we made of the best of it, played some pool, got some appetizers, sang and danced with the cover band… but it was really pretty dead. We left pretty early. The giant surprised was the $ 60 tab for a couple of beers and one well drink. Maybe they messed up? I don’t know… but we were in a rush to get out of there… Happy Birthday, Blue!
