This place did not disappoint! Used them for Christmas Eve dinner at our home for the main meal only, opting to make the side dishes myself. Definitely will use Zio Tony’s again for superbowl party or family get-togethers. You can’t beat the quality and price! Ordered a full sized tray of meat Lasagna(24 slices), full tray of chicken marsala, half order of mostaccoli and wow was this delicious! Ordered a tray of house salad and it was good, but have to say I’m a complete fan of Portillo’s chopped salad so house salads in general do not«woo» me, but it was fresh. I would highly recommend the meat lasagna and the chicken marsala — they were delicious and the price was so reasonable especially for the quality of the food. We had leftovers for days and the lasagna kept getting better day after day! They gave a complimentary loaf of bread with our order and my guests were going up for seconds — for bread! Everything was delicious and received lots of compliments on the food. I only ordered the mostaccoli for the kids at the party and even they had THIRDS(which they never do)! I agree with the other reviewer that commented how fresh the ingredients were — the sauce on that lasagna was about as homemade as it comes! The owner was so gracious to speak with and made suggestions for the chicken marsala and was very accommodating for my last-minute delivery time/order. I would definitely order this ahead of time and would not be afraid to reheat the next day or closer to when guests arrive — as I said, I thought the food kept getting better day after day! Thank you Zio Tony’s for all your hard work — definitely will try your pizza next time :)

This place has been here for a while but I never had stopped in here before. Small pizzeria located on Lake street. The lobby was kind of scruffy but not a big deal. Ordered a couple of slices. Had to wait a bit since this place takes their slices and pop back into the ovens for a re-heat. My slice option was limited to cheese only. I don’t believe that they do a lot of business in slices since there were not any topping slices or a pizza warmer holding slices to go. The pizza was OK. Nothing really special. Not bad or anything, but not great either. 3 stars is my rating for the slices. Perhaps ordering a whole pizza would bump it to 4 stars, not sure. Cheers to All

This is one of the places we order from when we have a taste for a really good pizza. The chicken strips are good too. We really like the bbq sauce they come with. The chicken parm is also something we like to get here.

Best carry out pizza!!! We must have at least 10 different places to get pizza here in Addison. This is our«go-to» pizza place. Fresh ingredients and very, very tasty sauce. We decided to order an appetizer and tried the fried calamari. I told my husband that since this is a pizza place that the calamari would probably look more like onion rings. Boy was I wrong… fresh calamari. Some Italian restaurants don’t even take the time to do that. What a surprise! There are soooo many different pizza options you can choose from. You wont be disappointed!!!

I ordered a thin crust pizza with sausage through Grub Hub. Very greasy but OK. I also order bruschetta which I paid $ 4.00 for – it came with the bread in one tray and the topping in amother. The tomatoes and onions were dripping with oil and swimming in oil. I had to dip the bread. I only ate one piece because it was so greasy I could not eat any more and threw it out. Not a good meal. I would not order again.

For the prize, you sure got a lot of food, the quality was great but definitely not a 5⁄5 and the owner was very very polite.

I’ll try it again because the service and prices were good but the slice was blah at best. I’d like to see them clean the place up a little bit but I’ll give it another shot for a sandwich or lasagna. Hope that they have a quality second impression!

We ordered a veggie pizza consisting of mushrooms, black olives and fresh garlic. You could tell the ingredients were fresh. I enjoyed the homemade sauce and the cheese was just OK but the balance of cheese, sauce and toppings was perfect. I really liked their sauce. The thin crust is just the right thickness with edge pieces having just the right amount of crunch. The owner is very polite and seemed to appreciate me being a first time cutomer. After reviewing their extensive menu, we’ll be giving some of the Italian specialities and pasta dishes a try next time we order.

Recently I was in Addison, Il the home of the Blazers. I stopped at a little place called Zio Tony’s Pizza at 613 West Lake Street, Addison, Il. to try out their pizza. They have a Jumbo Cheese Pizza Slice and Drink Special for just under $ 4.00 dollars. This little take-out and delivery place was voted to have the best cheese pizza the best pizza sauce and other honors at the Village of Addison Judges Choice Awards. I found the jumbo slice of thin crust cheese pizza very good. The establishment by all means, is a store shop business. However, they do have a small table set up inside the shop and on the outside. As one enters the shop they can’t take notice of the numerous photographs of their Italian gourmet dishes on the West wall. The word on the street is their Italian prepared food is excellent. In the past I tried one dozen of their baked clams which were awesome. I learned their recipes were handed down and associated with the original Venuttis Restaurant, that was located on North Ave, in Villa Park, Il. After I had their pizza I tried their Italian Beef sandwich. It was served on lightly toasted Italian Bread which really added to the favor. Zio Tony’s is known for their Meal Deals and coupons. If a customer saves 10 or more menus or receipts they earn $ 6.00 for any purchase. I feel that little incentive is a great customer service move. They specialize in take-out, delivery and will cater any special event. They offer menu specials Monday through Sunday. On Sunday they have a «Sunday Family Special» which includes a bucket of spaghetti or Mastaccioli with Meatballs and Sausage for $ 16.00. It serves 4 to 8 people. One of their best Meal Deals, is the $ 20.99, 18″ party pizza, with 2 liters of RC or 7Up and two sides… Yummy Deal. The menu at Zio Tony’s includes appetizers, Pasta, Entrees, Chicken, Ribs, Sides, Dinners, Soups, Salads, Sandwiches, and their signature pizza. Their pizza favorites are, thin crust, pan, stiffed and Panzarotti. They also have an 8″ personal pizza. Some of their types of pizza prepare are, the Southwestern, Basil, Meat Lovers, Hawaiian, Margarita, Mexican and Vegetarian. I found the service great, the food good and the prices very reasonable in this hard economic times. I give Zio Tony’s Pizza, FOURSTARS. Take a good slice out of life with Zio Tony’s Pizza.

We’ve ordered Zio Tony’s a few times, and each time its been good, but nothing truly remarkable. I usually order the fettuccini with broccoli, which is a nice greasy treat. The broccoli is perfectly cooked, and with the addition of some salt and red pepper flakes the dish is actually really good. The BF has ordered the meatballs, thin crust pizza, and an angel hair dish with chicken. All of which were ok, again with the addition of many condiments. Overall, we like Zio Tony’s because it is mere blocks away, so everything is delivered quickly and is still hot. If you want pizza, go to Nardi’s, but the pasta dishes are great for a lazy evening.

I’m torn on my rating here. I want to give Zio Tony’s an extra star, but with all of the local places we’ve tried lately, it just doesn’t really have that extra something to stand out. We’ve tried both the thin crust and deep dish. Both were good, just not super special. The one thing Zio Tony’s does have going for it is the sauce. It’s got a unique flavor, with quite a bit of garlic in it amongst other things. The problem is it’s either too much with the deep dish or too little with the thin crust. know one of the hallmarks of Chicago deep dish is the mounds of sauce, but it shouldn’t completely overwhelm everything, that sort of defeats the purpose. There was too little cheese and the bottom crust was almost non-existent. And while that sauce is good, there’s such a thing as too much of a good thing. It just gets a tiny bit monotonous. With the thin crust, the cheese was just average and a bit on the greasy side, so it kind of rendered the sauce invisible. The crust on the thin was pretty crispy though, which is nice, because I hate soggy flimsy pieces of pizza(I’m looking at you New York… poseurs). Another point in Zio Tony’s favor is the guy who runs the place. Both times I went to pick up, he was super friendly and when you call on the phone seems pretty detail oriented. He wants to make sure he gets everything right. In fact, when I got there, the guy in front of me was making a catering order and the owner was being extremely specific about the quantities of everything to make sure the customer got what he needed. So, Zio Tony’s is a pretty mixed bag. It’s not high on my list of places around here, but it’s convenient to get to, and incredibly inexpensive, so overall, not a bad place to get a quick pizza.

We have at LEAST15 different pizza options within a 5-mile radius of our home. No kidding. So last night when pizza sounded good for dinner, it was determined that we should try someplace we haven’t yet. Zio Tony’s it was. And fun fact — what they call«pan» pizza is really deep dish. They also have stuffed. We were expecting just a thicker-crust pan, not the truly deep. Now you know. A breakdown on the deep dish: Sauce: Awesome. A little spicy, a lot garlicky, chunky and tasty. My favorite part. Cheese: Plentiful. An overabundance, perhaps. Not quite as mutant as Generoso’s, but I was left wondering where the bottom crust had disappeared to. Crust: Bottom crust disappeared beneath the cheese. A smidge chewy. Top crust was doughy, flavorful, not dry but no buttery-ness or cornmeal here. Breakdown on the thin crust(updated 7.27.10): Pepperoni: Decent but I like some on top so it gets nice and crispy. This was all underneath and had a sausagey taste to it. Cheese: Plentiful, but my guess is(thanks to Mike O’s pizza knowledge) cheap/low fat — didn’t appear to be cut that well, it came off in big globs. A pet peeve of mine. Sauce: Good, but salty. Liked the deep dish sauce better. Crust: Crispy. Good, but not great. I did like the texture a lot. The cheese sticks we got were tasty but unremarkable. Price is really what’s compelling here; this stuff is pretty cheap. A large cheese deep dish was a mere $ 13.60.(Bit more for stuffed, less for thin crust.) And they regularly have pretty good coupons.(16″ thin crust with $ 3 off coupon: about $ 9.)

Indifference. I had received a flyer in the mail so I decided to try Zio Tony’s. Upon calling, a nice Italian lady tried to take my order but it was hard to communicate. «I’d like to start with an order of baked clams.» «Okay one order of eggplant.» «No, I’d like a half-dozed baked clams.» «Yes, eggplant.» She did get my order right, and I found that conversation entertaining. The food was delivered as promised. The breading for the clams was tasty but the clams were over-cooked and really chewy. The mozzarella sticks were yum. The buffalo wings were spicy and flavorful but the wings themselves were kinda skimpy on the meat. The pizza was really good. I ordered my favorite; hot giardiniera and Italian beef, and they load up the toppings. Cheese is gooey and stringy and great. The prices were very good– I mean if you’re looking for a super value and not worried about taste, of course get a large pizza with a bunch of toppings from Pizza Hut for $ 10, but that’s IF you call that pizza. It wasn’t enough to sway me away from my go-to pizza place but I will definitely order from them again.
