Very mediocre pub. We came here to watch the Stars and Mavs games. There are a good amount of TVs, but not ideal for watching two different games. Also the one main tv have a large brunt spot which is very distracting. On this night they seemed to just have the bartender and one server so getting service was often slow. The one good thing was the $ 3 drafts which was a great deal for ones like devil’s back bone and velvet hammer. We got a chef’s salad which was really good, lots of toppings and a good size. We also got 50 cent wings, sriracha and hot/buffalo. For 50 cents the wings weren’t bad, but I wouldn’t pay full price for them. They had too much breading and both flavors had some weird flavoring too them. Hot weren’t spicy enough and were too vinegary and sriracha were too spicy and could have used something sweet to balance it better. I might be back for a quick cheap drink but wouldn’t go out of my way to go here.

Good food, cold drinks. Came on a Saturday after the St Patrick’s Day parade and it was not too packed. Great local band Sweet Ride was playing. I will definitely be coming back!

Food is okay. Unilocal lists the Allen location and Addison location. Be aware the Addison location, this review«the menu is different» as the waitress says. So if you are coming here for a specific menu item like the burbon bread pudding, ck the menu first. Addison does not have it and other items. And SMOKEYSMOKEYSMOKEY. The patio doors are open always and the cigarette smoke chokes you while you are trying to eat. If I had wanted a smoke filled eatery with good food I would have gone to the Londener. Had the fish and chips.

Depends on the night you go, go there on a Friday and there will be an incredibly loud DJ for such a small bar. We went outside because it was to loud. It’s a bar not a club. We went on a weekday and there was some very average live music. The service is good, but the beers are hit or miss in terms of quality. The food is also good if you get the stuff that matches the type of bar. Don’t get a flatbread pizza, get something like the brat bites instead.

Friendly, laid back pub. A great place to grab a beer and watch a game. It’s one of the few bars in Addison that’s not located in a busy area. The Lion and Crown is right on the roundabout in Addison Circle which makes it a great place to unwind after a busy day at work.

Terrible service. Our server walked by every 10 min or so but never looked at our glasses or made eye contact. When someone at the table flagged her down and asked for another beer, she said«ok» and turned around to walk away. The rest of us sitting there with empty glasses had to yell«hey wait– we need drinks too». This happened 3 times. Explains why there were 20 people there on a Friday night. When we mentioned this to the owner she criticized us for not being understanding about a bar getting busy(see previous sentence). Restroom was disgusting too.

A pretty decent spot to hang out. Visited with a group of friends on a last minute basis. The service was friendly, appetizers were good and well-priced. If I’m in the area, I’d go again but I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit.

Called in a pick-up order on a late, «Halloween Hangover» Sunday, about 9pm, and was surprisingly greeted by the cheerful voice of Zach on the other end of the line. He really made our night! Bangers & Mash: got an extra serving of «Mash» and Gravy(should’ve gotten TWO extra, sooo good!), for only $ 2 extra.(Note: Day After Halloween, there were *still* people passed out cold — on the park benches out front — but as a resident of AC, still deathly quiet nonetheless, and that’s always a pleasant thing) Chicken Tenders & Chips:(see photo, it says all: crispy to infinity, plus jalapeños in the breaking take the cake.(Must remember, to self, these are now offered as normal pub-fare) They will definitely be our new«go-to» item, and come with all kinds of different dipping sauces. Full chips(steak fries) on top of that! Veggie Burger: chipotle & black bean burger that is Signature-ly theirs, with three choices for cheese: cheddar, Swiss, Provo… the norm. Asked for Mozzarella(since they now have pizzas on the menu) but no-can-do; no biggie, chose Provo, always a fave. Full set of hearty steak fries, LT and pickles… and extra ranch dressing. BEST accompaniment to fries. Made it bunless and removed/toasted leftover buns for the Hubby, for dipping in his Bangers & Mash concoction. The Lion & Crown just keeps getting better, fulfilling the needs of its loyal patrons(and local residents). I can’t say enough about how much I appreciate this concept and respect the owners… Way to Go!(You can BET we’ll be back!) (As for surrounding eateries(ie. One across the street serving tacos only when they feel like it, All I can say is they’re CLOSEDTODAY bah!)

Was hungry when I got home from work tonight and had no food a the apartment that looked good. I called lion and crowns for a to go order(btw it was 11:00 pm) was put on hold which was not a problem. I could hear the business in the backround, so I knew they were busy. It took a few mins and I think the phone accidentally hung up on me. Haha really not a problem, I called back and same person answered and was very kind and polite, took my order and was no problem. I went in and was greeted at the bar by the person who took my order. She went back rite away and got my order ASAP. Came back and even discounted the food for the inconvenience! I greatly appreciate that! I’m not sure what position she holds, but Jen was so personable and kind, I will def be coming back because of her! Got the chicken tenders and fries, was very tasty hot and fresh. Love the steak fries and the tenders had a great flavor too(no need for bbq or honey mustard) def NOT frozen from a bag! Thank u Jen for ur service and being u!

tl;dr — Popular but traditional British pub with Texas craft beers on tap, pricey but good food, great street tacos, and good drink specials(check the website for details). Good, but not perfect by any means. The Lion & Crown is a solid«pop pub» — meaning that while it is certainly very commercial, mainstream, popular, whatever descriptor you want to use etc…, it holds roots in that it carries traditional British pub fare, and a good selection of beers on draft and in bottles. The taps when I went consisted of about 2 – 3 local DFW-area craft beers, 2 – 3 other Texas craft beers, and 2 – 3 of your lower tier Americans(bud, coors, etc.). The ambience is very traditional, with lots of dark woods, a few decorations from across the pond, and tables of varying sizes, with TVs peppered throughout. There is a side deck for smoking patrons. They have great drink specials — I went on Texas Thursday, where one receives $ 1.50 off of Texas-brewed pints, bringing a pint of the Revolver Blood & Honey down to $ 4.50, about as cheap as you can find it. The food selection is large, and slightly overpriced — just about everything is in the $ 10. The one exception being their street tacos, which I believe are $ 2.00 each though I may be remembering incorrectly. That’s what I ordered, and my tacos were excellent. Great salsa verde on the side.

The location is great if you live in the circle area. Drink prices are ok, but not great. Food is pretty sub-par. I would suggest the wings or chicken strips. Everything else taste like it was cooked in really old oil.

Worst food my wife and I have ever had at a bar or restaurant. We lived in addison circle for three years and we only ate here once. If you want a nice cold drink, this place isn’t bad. But stay away from the food!

If you’re hungry for traditional bangors and mash — plump sausage, creamy real potatoes and beans… this isn’t your stop. The small bowl was missing beans. The potatoes — if fresh, were a fair copy of instant. And the bowl was clearly served less than fresh and nuked to the point of burning the ends of the sausage. This isn’t a difficult dish. This might be a good neighborhood bar for after work but if you’re in town and looking for a good pub meal, you’ll do better elsewhere.

It’s not bad and it’s not great. Prices are good. I do not recommend the food, however I will note that my husband loved the fried pickles. My shepherd’s pie needed flavor. It tasted like nothing and was buried in cheese. The bartenders spend a lot of time standing around texting and not enough time actually earning their tips.

Great place and a favorite of the Addison Circle locals. They allow dogs on the back patio as well, so it’s a great stop if you’re out for a walk on a hot day. Their fajitas are my favorite thing on the menu. Brie wedges are a close second. The chips(thick cut french fries) are super authentic.

Not a big fan of the food, but the drink prices are easy and it’s a laid back place. My favorite place to go catch a football game on Sunday since I live in the neighborhood. Also, dog friendly which is a huge plus for the area. It’s a bar that you can go to and end up making a few friends before you leave. Good crowd. Just wish their pool table was in decent shape.

I reviewed this place about 4 years ago and I came back here last weekend hoping things had improved. They haven’t. We arrived to catch the World Cup game(Mexico vs Holland) and were a little stunned and disappointed at the lack of soccer hooligans there. We received our order for waters promptly but that was sadly the best service we got. With only 2 people working that morning, It took no less than 20 minutes to have them take our order for the appetizer. That shockingly took a long time due to the kitchen being«backed up». How is the kitchen backed up when there’s hardly anyone there? The beef nachos arrived just as half-time was starting and tasted worse than any bar food I’ve ever had. Oh and don’t even dream about having your waters refilled. it ain’t happening! They weren’t able to take the Unilocal’s check-in offer for $ 2 Off appetizers because the owner wasn’t there to enter a code. It was just a bad experience and to top it all off, my Mexican team lost too. But there was no way I was going to drown my sorrows there by giving them more money buying their beer. I won’t be going there again, especially not when there are much better soccer pubs in the area.

How typical of Addison to have this many European inspired pubs(British or Irish). I can’t say The Lion & Crown really stands out among all of them. It’s a great place to grab cheap common beer if you’re in Addison Circle. They allow dogs on their patio, plenty of space on the inside and is hardly ever crowded. Sometimes there is karaōke as well, although the last time I experienced such a thing only one person hogged the stage. They have a limited selection on tap: Bud Light, Dos XX, Guinness, …etc. Exciting right? Even Fireman’s #4 is served in a bottle. To counter that, they do offer different Guinness mixes like black and tans and snake bites. Common beer drinking folk will probably enjoy it here if they’re not expecting craft beers. The food is a different ball game. I was pleasantly surprised by it because I’ve had my share of low quality bar food. I actually think they do a pretty good job. It’s not gourmet mind you, but they do have a good Bavarian Platter. It comes with french fries instead of potato salad, but at least it’s served with both sauerkraut and red cabbage! It seems like they’re proud of their fish and chips, but I’ve had larger portions of fish elsewhere. If you’re looking for a chill generic pub, this is definitely it, vanilla at its finest.

Had a brat. Not bad 6 bucks. Almost dry. They had only one person there for lunch today. She was the bartender, waitress of the whole joint and hostess. Lunch was surprisingly busy and this place is rather big. So service was a it slow. Seems like a great place to have a drink at night though.

I’m still mesmerized by the utter lack of intelligence the waitstaff has… Stupid would be a cruel word. And the owners wife snapped pics of us without even asking! Hello, I don’t know you, and I’m about to unleash the Hulk on you!(That’s what I turn into when I’m mad… just not green. hehe:-)
