Recently I wanted to recycle a bunch of electronics that were obsolete or broken beyond repair. While driving past Addison Town Hall, I saw a marquee posting that the Addison Recycling Center(ARC) now had a dumpster for electronics recycling all the time, not just once a month like Wood Dale. It was nice to see that the contracted company, ACME Refining, is a zero-waste plant for all e-scrap. It’s been a while since I went to the ARC and now the entire drive is paved instead of a bunch of rocks, and they still accept the other recyclables. The area is under surveillance cameras so don’t try and get your new TV here. They could empty the e-scrap dumpster a bit more often, I had to chuck a few heavy CRT monitors and a television up over my head to the top of the heap, but hey, it all fit eventually.
