I’ve been shopping at this store ever since I moved to Georgia 6 years ago. They’ve got some of the best prices around. However the quality of my shopping experience has gone downhill lately. For one thing, none of the grocery baggers here act like they’ve ever seen anybody with reusable bags before. I understand that some people are really particular about how they want their groceries bagged, and therefore don’t mind being asked things such as «Do you want your milk in a bag?» or «Do you want this meat bagged in plastic first?» but when I’ve put my bags on the belt and you ask me «Do you want your groceries in these bags?» you just sound dumb. Especially when most of my grocery bags are actually from Food Depot. Even worse was a couple of weeks ago when I bought several pounds of chicken backs and necks and a whole bunch of canned beef broth since it was on sale. I put my bags on the belt ahead of everything, and when everything was done, I was appalled to see that every bit of my groceries had been bagged in plastic and my reusable bags were neatly tucked into the child seat, completely empty. Yes I should have been paying more attention, but holy cow. Another thing is that the quality of the beef here has gone downhill. You used to be able to get some pretty nice twin packs of ribeyes here on the cheap. Now they usually suck. Also the Claxton Farms chicken wings are microscopic. Wtf happened to those big fat wings that I used to get from here? I guess I’m going to have to buy frozen from Kroger now. And finally. I believe the butcher has been smoking meth lately. I was just in there yesterday and ground pork was nearly $ 4 a pound. Seriously? Why? The other pork prices are reasonable so I don’t know why ground is so much. Good thing I have a meat grinder so I can buy some of those $ 1.77/pound picnics and grind my own, isn’t it?

I don’t like this place! I went in looking for a simple item a fresh fruit cup. Nope not happening. Everything in that department was underwhelming and I couldn’t get out of their fast enough! There were a whole bunch of loud talkers inside arguing can’t fault the store but it did make my already disappointing trip more unenjoyable. There were also people hanging out in front of the store, not the kind of people I want to hang out with outside of a grocery store… This again annoyed me because they do have an outdoor redbox. Oh well I lived I learned and I won’t be back.

Our diet is probably a little different than most peoples, the way my wife makes things, we usually only buy fresh vegetables and meat. The meat here is cheaper and of better quality than Walmart. Publix probably has the best meat but you pay a premium for it. The vegetables here are cheaper here usually as well. The cheese here is quite a bit cheaper and probably less old. The last time we bought cheese at Walmart, it had mold on it… baby food is cheaper at Walmart though.
