Food here is great I got the flounder and shrimp quality of the food is excellent best seafood you can get outside of going to the beach

Fresh and fantastic! They run the local fish market so everything is fresh.
I had the seafood platter. Amazing!
We had the mussels for an appetizer. Large and delicious. A good amount as well.
I chose flounder with shrimp, oysters and scallops. The breading was light and all was cooked to perfection, even the shrimp, which never happens. I LOVE seafood and I was very much impressed with everything I ordered. I’ve lived in NC for Almost 15 years and these were the best hush puppies I’ve had here.
My wife had the shrimp and grits. Gumbo style and a little spicy. Fresh grits! My wife loved it. Again, the shrimp were perfect. Not chewy at all.
My only regret is not knowing about this place sooner. A must stop if you like seafood!

Awesome experience the best calamari I ever had. Wife had blacken monk fillet I had flounder dinner. Portions were very large. Establishment was very professional and clean. I will come again

I love seafood an to have a spot right down the road 4rm home I thought I had something until one evening me an my bf decided to go for the food u get it was 2 expensive an on top of that nasty not to mention undercooked an the atmosphere isn’t the best either think I’ll continue to take the drive to Fayetteville an enjoy Captain Jerry’s

Small local seafood place. Food was decent however we could not enjoy are dining experience because the owner was yelling at the wait staff. It was very uncomfortable and not what we wanted to hear while dining out. Regardless of what mistakes the wait staff were making the owner shouldn’t yell at his staff in front of customers. We will not be back.

Made to order fresh seafood. What more could you ask for? We had catfish, shrimp and shrimp tacos. All of it was amazing. Yes, it’s an older style restaurant and the wait staff is not falling all over you. I liked that they told me ahead of time that all food is made to order and would be 20 minutes. It was worth it. When you go, and you should, don’t judge it before you eat your meal.

What the exterior and interior décor lack is more than made up for with quality food!
The simple menu allows for extremely well prepared food, that is fresh and prepared in house.
Favorite sides were the baked beans, hush puppies and Cole slaw. I doubt you could go wrong with anything on the menu. Will be back!

Three of us had lunch here and no one liked their meal. The fish smelled fishy and tasted blah. None of us will return. Life is too short to eat this poorly.

A must stop location! Small, quaint and great service. Very down home place and everyone treats you like your at a family gathering. Quality of food is outstanding. The swordfish is top end with great flavor. The coleslaw is complex and hard to put down as you try to figure out all the different tastes. Hush puppies are small and sweet.
You will not be sorry. Make the trip. It is well worth it!

Best fish restaurant in the county! Only place to get the best fried oysters! Southern food (and fresh fish) make this a go-​to place! My husband resisted bc it looks like a hole-​in-​the-​wall but as us foodie’s know, those are the best places. Hubby always wants to go back now– he should listen to me more often ;). Go eat here, now!

The owner, Danny is one of a kind & very personable with customers & his staff.
Our family dines at The House of Fish often, typically twice each month. The seafood is always very fresh, usually seasonal local options with everyone’s standard favorites (tuna, flounder, catfish, shrimp) offered as well, & tastes amazing.
Highly recommend giving these folks a try & I’m confident you too will become a regular as well.

A great locally-​owned treat that we found through Unilocal during our annual family visit to the Sandhills. We a delicious whole fried red snapper (one of the ever changing daily fresh choices) along with wonderful sides (sweet, non-​oily hush puppies, coleslaw with celery salt and others). Welcoming service and brightly colored setting. Compared to the many mediocre chain restaurants that we have suffered through during other past visits, House of Fish is quite special and well worth the visit.

This place was so good. Everything was cooked to perfection, the staff was friendly and attentive, the portions were plentiful– it just took so long. Everything is cooked to order and super fresh. There were 5 of us, we all ordered full meals and realized that we should have split 2 entrees. Even my toddler had a huge plate of large shrimp and hush puppies with her kids Shrimp Pack. I had the whole red snapper, which was huge and perfectly seasoned and cooked. We had calamari for an appetizer and the basket they brought out was overflowing.
My only complaint is the wait. I will wait for good food, and I will be back, but we were there about 2 hours. The servers made sure our drinks were filled and we were given hot hush puppies while we waited. Definitely worth the wait, but with a sleepy toddler in tow, it made it a little less enjoyable. We went on a Friday night, the place was packed and we were told there would be a 30 minute wait. There was an older couple sitting at a table that could seat the 5 of us and they asked the owner to move them to the 2 person table so we didn’t have to wait. If you go on the weekend, there will be a wait. The food is amazing.

The owner had a nasty attitude problem. On multiple occasions I’ve seen him argue a customer down and the customer only wanted there food right. The poor Managment and crazy staff that runs this place make me never want to come back. The food is hit and miss anyway and not worth the wait. The owner needs anger management classes because he acts like a child and Rants about his one pr coverage in pilot that they do for all grand openings!!! If I could give him a half of star I would!

Unpretentious little place on side of the road. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The shrimp and grits are fantastic! So creamy and stoneground yellow grits, woo!
The chicken and waffles are delicious acording to my boyfriend. I’ve had the fried shrimp and the crabcake sandwich on another visit. Very impressed with the shrimp and loved the hushpuppies. Reminded me of how my grandmother used to make them.

I would often take my Mom to her radiation appointments at Firsthealth Moore Regional Hospital. I live in Raleigh and would search for restaurants in the Aberdeen area on Unilocal.
Well, I came upon a little place called «House of Fish». The reviews were excellent. My parents and I (my dad would always go with us as well) love seafood. So, we decided to give this place a try.
As we pulled up to the place, we were a bit skeptical, but then we entered and the hospitality began. Everyone was friendly and knew the menu very well when we had questions.
My parents and I ordered different things and all was VERY good. The best we have had, not being near a beach. We will definitely be going back.

After living on the coast of N.C., this seafood is right up there with the big dogs! You MUST try House of Fish! Support Local!

In town for some golf and pulled this up on Unilocal.Small but the service and food was excellent. The calamari sppetizer was anazingly tender.

Ordered the Seafood platter. The shrimp and Whiting fish were pretty damn good. The oysters not so much.

An unpretentious white cinder block building on the side of highway 211 outside of Aberdeen, NC hides an array of fantastically fresh, simply prepared seafood.
Our table ordered the black bass fried crispy, and the whiting fillet sandwich. Both were excellwnt, fresh, flaky and tender.
We also had a marvelous pulled pork barbecue sandwich with homemade coleslaw and the now ubiquitous sweet potato fries.
Friendly service and piscine décor combined to make a very pleasant dining experience.
