Tarragona Cathedral

Ich weiß gar nicht wo ich anfangen soll. Die Kathedrale von Tarragona ist bemerkenswert. Der Eintritt kostet 5 € und mit einem Audioguide 2 € mehr, was mit 7 € definitiv nicht zu teuer ist.
Man muss auch nicht unbedingt irgendeiner Religion verfallen sein um sich die Kathedrale anzuschauen, auch jemand der nichts mit Religion am Hut hat, ist hier aufgehoben.
Dieses Bauwerk ist ein Kunstwerk aus vielen kleinen Bausteinen. Ich will nicht allzuviel darüber verraten, auch will ich nicht alle Fotos hier hochladen, denn wenn man es selber sieht ist es noch beeindruckender.
Mit dem Audioguide sollte man sich auf jeden Fall Zeit lassen und auch Zeit einplanen, wir haben zwischen 2 – 3 Stunden für den kompletten Rundgang gebraucht. Die vielen Infos zu welcher Zeit die Kapellen gebaut wurden und wo man einzelne Kunstwerke gefunden hat und wie alt man diese schätzt waren für mich sehr interessant, was ich nicht so interessant fand, die ganzen Namen dazu, denn sowas kann und will ich mir auch nicht merken.
Der Audioguide besteht aus 44 Nummern und wir haben bis zur Nummer 41 alle durchgezogen, danach war die Puste wirklich raus. Viel länger hätte es auch nicht gehen dürfen. Ohne Audioguide läuft man an vielem interessanten vorbei ohne wirklich zu wissen, was jetzt nun was ist, daher hat sich unser Besuch in der Kathedrale wirklich gelohnt.
Auch der Innenhof, zudem man kommt, wenn man das Hauptschiff mit den ganzen Kathedralen verlässt, ist wunderschön und lädt auch zum Verweilen ein, denn die Stille ist wunderbar, wenn man fast ganz alleine dort verweilt.
Nehmt ein paar Euros in die Hand und besucht die Kathedrale von Tarrangona, es ist jeden Cent wert!

Hier lohnt es sich einen Umweg zu machen da dieser Ort noch nicht von Touristen übervölkert ist

Sitio muy fotogénico y bonita por supuesto, cuenta con una gran historia merecedora de escuchar/​leer.

At the uppermost point of Tarragona stands the stunning 12^th century gothic cathedral, fronted by a magnificent entrance hall and adorned by beautiful stained glass windows. The Museu Diocesà is located inside the cathedral and houses a collection of Catalán art you can visit for 2.40 Euros.
Surrounding the cathedral is a maze of narrow, winding streets which open, unexpectedly in to picture postcard squares. The tiny lanes are scattered with Interesting and unusual shops along with a wide array of restaurants and tapas bars, with prices to suit all budgets. The picturesque walled old town has two gates through which to enter, the Portal del Roser and the Portal de Sant Antoni

Un lugar precioso para ver, tiene el problema que para ir en coche esta dificil ya que no es nada facil encontrar parquing por la zona, la catedral se encuentra rodeada de bares que hacen del lugar un sitio mas ameno

Tarragona’s mediaeval cathedral occupies a large section of the old city, and approaching it along the Carrer Major offers a dramatic spectacle, with a wide series of steps rising from the small square at the end of the street to the Plaça de La Seu at the cathedral’s imposing West Front. As well as an important mediaeval building in its own right, it houses an impressive collection of religious art.
Built largely between the 12^th and 14^th centuries, the cathedral is an excellent example of the transitional style, with Romanesque features gradually giving way to the pointed gothic arch. Most impressive is the cloister, where triple rounded arches are grouped under a single pointed arch, and surround a small but delightful cloister garden.
After this, the cathedral itself is something of a disappointment: although its scale is very impressive, especially its rose window, the grey stone walls and ceiling, largely unadorned, give the interior a cold and dusty feel, which even some impressively decorated chapels cannot enliven.
However, the entrance ticket includes the old refectory, Chapel of the Holy Sacrament, Treasury and Chapter house, all of which houses a must-​see collection of mediaeval and baroque religious art. These include early mediaeval sculptures and statuary, silver work, devotional objects, paintings, frescoes and vestments. Most impressive is the collection of Catalan religious altar painting, dating from the 13^th century, but what may actually catch your eye more are the incredibly elaborate not to say gaudy collection of silver reliquaries and monstrances. Indeed, one of the latter may be a contender for the most over-​the-​top religious object in Christendom, with its gilded baldacchino, dripping with silver, gilt, precious stones and incredibly detailed and fussy decoration.
Except for services, entry is via the Cloister on the north side, well signposted from the Plaça de la Seu.
Unless you are attending a service, there is an entrance fee. Photography is not allowed inside the Cathedral precinct, including the Cloister, Museum and Cathedral Church.
