took my first trip to Morocco via an 80min ferry from Gibraltar across the straits to Tangier. the Brit side was orderly, some delay at arrival (arab time). i went with Spaniards who’d been, but suggest a guided tour for newbs cuz of shady touts at the port. plenty to see/​do: old medina and souks, ville nouvelle, thieves market «casa barata», beaches. stay a couple of nights in a hip euro-​owned guesthouse in the kasbah, eat seafood + tagines on the cheap. and smoke kif, drink mint tea. lots.
tip: Gibraltar is an hr from Marbella, border crossed thru airport runway-​watch4planes!
