Bar Gregoria calls itself a chringuito, but it is nowhere near the beach. I suppose that a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.(Maybe«rose» should be replaced with«churros.») Speaking of churros… It was Sunday morning and my pounding headache was kindly reminding me that it was time for some food and coffee. Bar Gregoria is one of the few bars/restaurants in the area open on Sunday and churros seemed like a brilliant idea. I ordered two big churros and an order of chocolate for dipping. The churros were perfectly cooked — deep-fried and crispy. But the chocolate? It was like an even sweeter version of ColaCao [1]. Also kind of thin and runny; not the way I prefer my chocolate. Laura A. is right — Galician chocolate is the way to go. Because I still needed to take care of that headache, I ordered a café solo. It was robust and of the right consistency, but a little too bitter for my liking. I’ll have to dock a star because the waiter forgot my churros and the cashier rolled her eyes at me when I tried to pay with a 10 euro note. My total was 4 euro, not 50 centimos, woman. [1] ColaCao is a chocolate powder, which you then mix with milk, for a calorie-laden drink.
