Looking for a great breakfast spot off of the tourist path? Tandem is worth the stop. Simple menu and food is fresh and delicious.

My friends and I were looking for somewhere for breakfast on a Saturday morning and this place came up, reviews sounded perfect for what we were after. Fresh food, good coffee! And Saturday morning did not disappoint. The service was nice, coffees brilliant and food delicious. So, after this good experience, and the fact it was so close to where we were staying, we decided to go there again on Sunday morning (Probably more like midday as it was a big night) and the place wasn’t busy at ALL, however, the waitress turned us down immediately. We had a combination of Spanish speakers and English speakers with us, however, she clearly had something against us from the moment we walked in. After explaining we just wanted some toast and coffees similar to what was offered to us yesterday she said we had 45 minutes to do so. She was rude, the menu and the food was different to what was offered the day before, which we didn’t understand, and the presentation was as if they didn’t care. It was one of the most unpleasant experiences I have had ever. So, this place in my eyes is hit or miss. And I guess that’s what service can do to the reputation of a restaurant/​café.

This place took brunch, grabbed it by the tits, and milked every milliliter of fresh squeezed glory out of it. PRIMERO they brought us an expertly sculpted espresso that ripped the cobwebs from my mangled mind and brought me back to life. SEGUNDO, gently scrambled eggs (birthed from the Spanish mother hen) arrived layered with steak aged like madonnas ass (aka perfectly).

We stumbled through the streets of the neighborhood De Las Letras, worth the stroll here and came across this bohemian chic spot that charms you from the window. Its sister down the street was full so we came back here and enjoyed an intimate setting and divine cuisine prepped by the two young and talented chefs. We could see them through the window of their kitchen having a marvelous time cooking and felt the love and care that goes into concocting the dishes.
Wait staff is very nice and attentive and the ambiance is warm and friendly.
Must stop here to enjoy a simple elegant flavorful experience.

Me han hablado maravillas de Triciclo y, casualidades de la vida, antes de ir a ese sitio caí en su ‘hermano pequeño’ –el recién llegado a la familia-​: Tándem.
El establecimiento está muy bien ubicado en pleno centro de Madrid, por Huertas y cerca de la Castellana. Además la decoración hipster y una bicicleta en la puerta me enamoraron. Mesas grandes, de madera, recónditos espacios por el establecimiento te invitan a pasar un buen rato para comer, tomar café o cenar. Las sillas quizás es lo más incómodo porque son las típicas de metal de los parques de nuestra infancia pero le dan este toque vintage.
Su oferta es curiosa porque se trata de típica comida familiar, con una vuelta moderna. Todo lo que pedimos fue para compartir entre 4 personas y salimos encantados. Entre diario tienen menú y todo sonaba demasiado apetecible. Las tosta de Jamón estaba muy buena y la ensalada de la huerta genial. Vi que tenían sandwiches con muy buena pinta aunque no llegué a probarlos. Para la próxima…

El hermano pequeño de Triciclo no sorprendió!! Típica comida familiar, desenfadad incluso con niños. Compartimos una salvajada de platos tan variados como ceviches, tacos de huitlacoche, Tartar de Atun o un perrito de butifarra de alucinar. Todo muy recomendable y el ambiente y servicio de 10! Para volver y pronto.

Un lugar estupendo tanto para desayunar, comer, merendar o cenar y los domingos para tomar el Brunch.
Ambiente tranquilo, decoración desenfadada y moderna.
A mí me gusta venir a desayunar pues abren pronto. El desayuno «Potente», aunque algo caro, es el mejor.

Hay cafés (o conceptos, que se diría hoy en día) que deberían tener tarifa plana para volver una y otra vez. Tándem va camino de convertirse en uno de esos sitios en los que dan ganas de quedarse a vivir en un rincón.
En la misma calle que su «hermano» el TriCiclo (de los mismos dueños, aunque iba a decir sueños), es un placer entrar solo por el ambiente de bistró y flores que lo inunda.
Aunque solo he venido por los desayunos*, placenteros como pocos, tiene carta de ensaladas, bocadillos y unos pocos platos del día. Algunos conocidos de la carta del TriCiclo, otros nuevos. Por la mañana merece la pena quedarse al menos unas horas, un par de cafés por lo menos.
Y por lo que he visto, poco tarda en llenarse para las comidas y cenas, ya sabéis como va esto.
