When the original restaurnat we were going to was slammed with no tables — we ended up here. Without internet we did the «old school» — peek at the menu… look inside to see if it’s busy… shrug…let’s do it. So glad we did.
Ham croquetas — amazing come with little shoe string potato chips and sauce. A lot of ham in them.
Gorgonzola croquetas — wowzers! Fried perfectly and creamy goodness inside! My vegetarian wife loved them!
So, they actually made a mistake. We were going to do 3 and 3 on the croquetas but they brought out 6 ham at first. To make it right they offered the 3 cheese croquetas at no charge and profusely apologized about the mix up. That leads me to the fact that our server was EXCELLENT. Super nice, speedy, waitied for us to finish plates before bringing the next one out… he was great all around!
Tabla de jamon — comes with pan con tomate. Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. Basically this is slices of ham on a wooden board… with some bread sticks and a side of bread with tomato sauce. The bread was SUPER soft and with the tomato sauce it was perfect. You put a few slices of ham on top. and bite in. SO GOOD. In between bites you can wash it down with a slice of ham… cause YOLO. This was one of my favorite things I ate on the trip to Spain… so glad I fit it in on the last day!
I also washed it down with an ice cold beer.
The spot very reminescent of a trendy spot in the states where hipsters hang out. Yet it never felt pretensious. They are just cranking out good food — with good service — while having the place look super hip/​clean. I really liked it.
Overall a great spot to grab a bite. We were there at lunch time on a weekend and it was only about half full… so not sure how other days/​times are.

Dando una vuelta por gran vía, nos encontremos con este lugar. Vimos la carta de fuera y estrella galicia! Pues allí que entramos.
Lugar amplio con mesas y sillas en la barra.
Pedimos una pinta, nos dieron en un plato unas patatas con chorizo mezclada con salsa y miel.
A mí modo de vez, algo pequeña.
Empezamos a ver las tapas y la carta. Al final nos decantamos por una tapa de jamón ibérico. No estaba mal. Acompañando por patatas paja.
La atención fue buena aunque un poco caro.

I guess 10.50 euro for an appetizer, main, drink, and dessert isnt a bad deal. But if u want a real meal, to fill u up not with bones and fat and little meat on a chicken, dont go here. The appetizer parpadelle sounded nice and looked nice but it was obvious it was sitting outside. Texture wasnt good at all. It was cold on some pieces and was just reheated from the microwave or whatever. Then the chicken curry was just a nono…
So its a good deal for the anount of money, but not a good meal.

Beer is okay. Wouldn’t recommend the service of the bartenders though. I speak Spanish so we were okay. Not recommended for only English speakers

Very happy that I happened upon this place! It was in a great location on Gran Via, and had plenty of seating for all types! Bar seating, high tops in the bar area, 1 to 2 person tables in an area past the bar, as well as high tops for several people back there as well. The staff was courteous and nice, and although they all didn’t speak fluent English, the owner did, and he took time away from his own dinner to make sure I had everything I needed. Super nice guy! For seafood, he recommended the octopus and the squid… from the prices, I gathered that these were more entrée type dishes than tapas… I was correct. I got a huge plate of squid, veggies, eel & noodles & it was de-​lish! My only complaint was that it was way too oily. It was served on a plate of slate stone, so I used any free space to soak up excess oil! Other than that, it was amazing! Also, great wine prices! Would definitely go back and try more! :)

Amo este sitio por una sola cosa: los martes de flamenco.
Así es: todos los martes a las 10pm siempre tocan distintos grupos o cantantes independientes. Es gratis y realmente es un espectáculo. De los pocos sitios del centro de Madrid donde de hecho encontrarás españoles y se puede gozar del alma española (sevillana) de verdad. La gente se anima a bailar flamenco, la espontaneidad es el huésped principal y la calidez de esas horas son únicas.
Así que sí: cada martes que pueda, por aquí estaré. ¿Hoy es martes? yuhuuu :)!!!

Recomiendo este sitio en plan tapeo. Los nuggets de pollo y berenjena a la mostaza dulce con miel y el provolone gratinado con tomate confitado fantásticos. El sitio muy bien. Con exposición de cuadros, música en vivo, buen ambiente… La única pega es que la camarera que nos atendió, muy maja ella, nos trajo varias veces cerveza en vez de copas de vino que habíamos pedido. Un sitio para regresar.

Es el típico sitio en el que me debato entre las cuatro y las tres estrellas pero que –lo siento de veras– al final se va a quedar con tres. La comida estaba rica, el sitio tiene su gracia y la localización es inmejorable. Yo pedí una hamburguesa y estaba bien rica, así como el vino y las dos tortillas que tomamos para amenizar la espera mientras llegaba la comida. También pedí una cocacola, porque moría de hambre, y he de decir que es de 350, algo que aprecio muchísimo en cualquier caso.
El problema vino, no obstante, al entrar. Pedimos a una camarera una mesa para nueve, y nos quiso acoplar en una mesa alta en la que yo pensaba que no cabíamos, y además me parecía bastante incómoda para una cena completa. Viendo que el lugar estaba vacío absolutamente, le pedí por favor que no juntara unas cuantas mesas porque total, encima eran las once de la noche casi y ya nadie iba a venir a cenar, y menos en domingo y un grupo tan grande.
Pues bien, después de pedírselo nos puso mala cara, y lo hizo con bastante desgana. Yo llegué a preguntar si es que iban a cerrar la cocina, pero resulta que no. Pues resulta que en mi caso, porque yo iba con otras ocho personas, algunos eran compañeros de trabajo, estaba de muy buen humor y estaba seguro de que me iba a costar encontrar un lugar diferente para comer, pero en otras circunstancias hubiese cogido las de Villadiego y me hubiese cenado un kebab.

Esta cervecería-​bar de tapas ha abierto hace poco en el lugar donde estaba el legendario Vitaminas, en la Gran Vía, y aunque sólo he estado tomando un café pinta muy bien. La decoración es agradable y acogedora, y el nivel de ruido muy aceptable, a pesar de estar todo abierto a la calle y a estar bastante concurrido. Volveré a tapear, eso seguro, y entonces veremos si merece una cuarta estrella. Por lo poco que he visto pasar y por su carta, me da que la tendrá…
