Llevaba mucho tiempo queriendo probarlo, pues paso por delante todos los días (hasta varias veces) y siempre veo al camarero con su impertérrita sonrisa y sin asaltarte nunca para que entres (lo cual es de agradecer) y ayer fue el día elegido ante las pocas ganas de hacer algo de comer.
Debo reconocer que me esperaba más del sitio. Por dentro tiene la típica estética «bollywoodiense» (que te puede gustar o parecerte una horterada) a lo que se le suma un televisor donde ponen videoclips de canciones indias (el cual se queda colgado de vez en cuando).
En cuanto a la comida, las cantidades están bien y los precios en la media de la competencia de estos restaurantes; pero de momento es el indio que menos me ha gustado de los 3 o 4 que he ido (sin llegar a estar mala).
A destacar la velocidad con la que te preparan los platos (no esperamos casi nada) y la simpatía del camarero.
La verdad es que yo lo recomendaría como sitio de cervezas o tapeo «exótico», pues tienen ofertas de cubos de botellines y tapas muy atractivas (de hecho, me gustaría volver pero con este plan; no para comer de menú o platos).

Nice sidewalk dining here. The fare was usual Indian but cheap. We chose the prix fixe menu for 2. Under 20e total for our 4 course meals. My husband had a 5e caipirinha which was also a terrific deal for us Californians but my beer was included!

The worst Indian Restaurant we have ever experience in terms of food. Samosas seemed to be the frozen ones you can get in any supermarket and deep fry yourself. The Vegetarian curry had a weird flavour and was overly greasy. But by far the worst part was the desert which was supposed to be a Mango Ice Cream — was basically some sort of orange margarine with sugar. Disgusting!
The staff tried to be nice although we kept complaining and in the end told us we are the first unsatisfied clients. They tried to offer us the ‘pastel’ instead of ice cream but as we had already tried it and did not really enjoy it, we simply preferred to pay and leave.

Did not taste like it is supposed to. Very dissapointed because I was told the best Indian food can be found in Lavapies.

He necesitado años para saber el nombre de este sito, para mí el hindú de las tapas, pues tienen una oferta de plato con 5 tapas distintas por 3 € y siempre he venido a por esto y sus cubos, que no soy yo muy fan de los botellines, pero es lo que hay. El problema es que siempre había pensado que la calle era Argumosa, y no, no lo es.
En esta ocasión nos decidimos a pedir algo más pues ya era tarde y había hambre tras una tarde de resaca y cerveza.
Todo correcto, el plato de las tapas rico como siempre con su salsita de yogur y la que medio pica, un curry de verduras con su arroz, una ración de muy buen tamaño, y unas samosas vegetales. Win!

Este sitio entra de golpe a la lista de restaurantes que tengo «feos pero que están buenísimos». Os aseguro que no conozco tantos restaurantes indios y este me ha encantado.
El sitio está en argumosa, es pequeño y muy muy barato.
Al llegar no sabíamos qué pedir y nos recomendaron perfectamente: pollo Tikka Masala (eso sí lo sabíamos), arroz, pan de queso y con esos tres platos comimos tres personas.
El sitio me pareció una gran idea si buscas un sitio que esté bien, sin muchas floriturias y a un precio de lujo.
Por cierto, en una mesa cercana estaba Pepe Viyuela. Cuando le vi sabía que había acertado en el sitio!

As the first review mentioned, the tapas route on Lavapies was a great opportunity to explore the diversity of this neighborhood, which is full of restaurants of almost any kind. This place Maisha was PACKED!!! wow! and the best of all they had the tapa they were featuring, why do I say this? because some of the establishments ran out of their feature tapa and well… were offering something else… not good.
But the people at Maisha were on top of it and it was great! on the last day of this tapas festival they made more than 1500 of their feature tapa!!! what!!!
I will go back, it was great, fun and affordable. even though the tapa special is not anymore their prices are very affordable

From the 20^th to 30^th of October, there are 31 locations around the Lavapiés that serve 1 Euro tapas. I went on a tapas crawl tonight and this little joint had the best one by far.
They served Pantaras de Pollo y Verdura, which is more or less deep fried chicken and vegetables with a sweet sauce drizzled over the top. I actually went back and ordered another one which says something when I didn’t even finish half of the others.
