I liked it here for the most part. I felt a little old for the place, but it was still fun. On our way there a man outside gave us a drink card so it was a free shot with each beer and two wells for 10 euro. I had raspberry vodka and sprite. Quite loud and lots of Americans. Two bars… One in the back was not busy.

Monday night and Arsenal was playing so needed to find a pub for the game. The Dubliners was around the corner from where we had tapas. It was quite there, just a few customers, so we found some seats, ordered some beers and watched the game. It was a nice pub — no complaints like the other reviews.

Worst pub ever, 2 stories about the bartender: 1. first time I went there with some friends, I bought at least 36 shots for my friends. Then I saw people came to the bar with some kind of promotion and they can get the shot for free. Ok~ I asked one of the bartenders:” can i have some promotions please?” Then this bartender was like: «no i can’t give it to you», when i ask why he was like, «i can’t sorry». What do you mean you can’t? I paid you tips and I bought a lot of shots one time. This is the way you welcome your customers??? I didn’t mind to spend money on the drinks, but I just wanted to feel good & special with this promotion. I turned around and found the busperson, asked him for some promotions. He gave me many since he saw I paid all the drinks. 2. Around 2 months later, my friends asked me to go with them there. I totally forgot about what happened before, until this SPECIFIC bartender reminds me again. Here is the story, normally the cocktails will cost 6 €, but my friends got this promotion 2 cocktails for 10 €. I bought one cocktail first and my friend reminded me after I just paid, then I was like wait, I got this coupon. This same bartender said:“no, i can’t give it to you. It’s done.” What do you mean it’s done? Come on, it was only 5 seconds I got out the coupon and you didn’t even open the register yet. The money was still on the desk. I don’t know what his name is, tall and short hair blondy, around 30 and looks bit workout. I would never go back there. They need some serious training for the bartenders.

An average Irish with overpriced beer and cold waitstaff. Ordering a drink is a process. I’ve never tried the food but I don’t think I want to. This place is nice if you’d like to meet other English speakers or Spanish people looking to improve their English. Sometimes they charge a cover to enter. Ridiculous! Cover, for a bar? Who does that!

I had a good time here! Probably because it was filled with all study abroad students. We went out for a girl’s birthday, but it was so much fun! Shots were really cheap and music was good. Must visit– WITH your friends!

I had a great time here — I needed a place to watch Formula 1 with Sky Sports, and this was a perfect location. It’s near the Puerta del Sol, and easy to find. It’s a fairly large place, but I stuck to the front bar area. The bartender, Jonas, was great. He made good drinks and was friendly, and when I forgot my phone on the bar, he put it away for me so it wouldn’t get stolen. Dubliners has a good reputation for being a safer place where you don’t have to worry *as* much. The food is pretty average, but I only ate a very little bit. I went there for the race and for drinks, and it seems to be a pretty popular expat place, so English abounds — which was a nice change for me. There was free WiFi, it was pretty empty during the day(even in the evenings), and even the regulars were really very friendly and inclusive. It’s worth visiting if you’re a bit homesick, or need some US/UK sports in your life.

¡Interesante!

No, no, no! Indignante. No pienso volver.

If you’re homesick for America(or if you’re just really bad at Spanish and want to speak English to people), this is the place for you. From what I’ve been told, this bar is a popular haunt for American students and teens living in Spain. The night I went, everyone I met there was a study abroad student from the States who were knocking back a couple of drinks before going out clubbing. As far as the drinks go, everything is pretty standard. They usually give out tickets for drink deals, and the night I went, a pint and a shot was 4 euros. All in all, not a bad bar to go to if you just want to hang out with some Americans for a change.

2 stars is a little low; 4 stars is a little high… I don’t know, it is an average Irish bar, nothing special. But again, what do you expect from an Irish bar? No offense. I do think it’s unfairly reviewed here. Just because big crowds are not your thing doesn’t necessarily mean the place is bad. It can get packed with tourists and locals alike at times, but the service is good. The drinks are good. The food is not so bad for a Sports Irish bar. The toilets are clean(at least the ladies’ room is)… It’s really not bad(and this is coming from someone who detests sports and beer bars). I’ve been here a few times for the chicken wings(which I now find too greasy) and convenience. Americans and Brits, especially newbies in Spain, can get their«fix» here just fine. Besides soccer, they play American football(Not that I care) and sometimes NHL. It’s not bad if what you want is a place to mingle with English-speakers and get quick friendly service.(Though I don’t understand why anyone coming to Spain is always looking for other tourists from the same country.) But, c’est la vie! Just stop by and be the judge. Oh, and they have free Wi-Fi!(Weefee!)

Went here with my boyfriend’s cousin and his friends. Basically — this is the place you«pregame» and stay at til 1:30 or so when the clubs are busier. The drinks are a lot cheaper, and apparently their food isn’t bad but I haven’t tried it. As well, they usually have people giving out tickets for cheaper drink specials. Apparently the owner wants to create competition between Dubliners and another bar(which, shh, he owns as well) to drum up business. Nonetheless — not a terrible bar. Worth staying at for a few hours before having a big night and paying a lot of money at a club. Oh, also, I’m 23 and I got IDed my second night coming here — which I thought was pretty funny.

I have to say that the only reason I went here is because I heard they showed NFL. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I’m in Madrid and I want to watch American Football and not the good kind. Trust me, I love futbol as much as the next Madrileno, but sometimes I just need a fix of hard hitting NFL… That said, it seemed I was just another American(or Brit) there to watch football. There were a few Spaniards there to watch some futbol, but I have a feeling most of them avoid it because of the rowdy bastards watching dimwits tackle on another(oh man now I’m even insulting the sport…). There menu was cheap and I got a plate of wings which were actually pretty good, with a breading but a little greasy. It came with a spicy sauce and blue cheese dressing, which made for a decent 4 $, but I wasn’t thrilled with their d

I am not a particular fan of this Irish Pub and let me state that it has nothing to do with the overall service. I find the people working there to be friendly and the service to be relatively quick. With that said, this place draws in the tourist crowd(especially Brits & Americans) and turns into a bit of a meat market in the evening. Now if you are reading this guys in hopes that this is where you come to meet beautiful Spanish girls, think again. It always seems to be a place where Spanish guys come to get tourist girls(lucky ladies) or tourists finding tourists… I’ve been here twice with large groups later in the evening and it is quite often packed. It might be your thing, it simply isn’t mind. If you are looking for some quiet pints and conversation, you’d do better to hit one of «Cerverceria’s» on the street.

One wild pub crawl night in Madrid and we ended up here in Dubliners with its Happy Hour — our crawl special was 2 drinks for 10euros or you could get a bucket of beers for 15euros. The music was good, the people were fun and the bar tenders mixed a strooong drink — perfect for a wild night out!
