If you need a room close to airport, this is it. Take advantage of the free shuttle too, I missed that one. Also the kitchen surpassed expectations. Good value for the price. Just note this is near the airport, nowhere close to the city.

I wouldnt stay here again. Never. Besides smoke smelling rooms their internet is slow and does not allow most of the things to be used such as FaceTime, Skype and WhatsApp calls. They just force you to pay their phone service. This is so bad. I booked for an overnight stay in Madrid but now I know where not to stay in Madrid.

I have never written a hotel review before so there’s a reason for this one. I travel a lot. I have to say that the Axor Barajas near the airport in Madrid was just amazing. I had messed up my reservation(my fault, although Expedia may have contributed). The reception agent said«No problem», got me a room and automatically upgraded it to a huge suite just to make up for the inconvenience(that had not been their fault). The room was impeccably clean, modern, quiet, and comfortable. The bathroom shower was huge with a giant rain shower head. Breakfast was complete and very good. And the airport shuttle was precisely on time. And did I mention that price was incredibly reasonable? Made the end of my business trip in Spain much more relaxing and comfortable. Who knew that an airport hotel could do that?

DISAPPOINTED: This is located about 6 miles from the city center so with a rental car getting around is no problem. There was a van blocking the entrance and the front windows were being washed at check-in time so we had to park near the road at the end of the driveway. Because they did not have any luggage carts, we had to carry all the luggage into the lobby. Check-in went smoothly in English. We were in room 121 with 2 twin beds and 2 twin bunks. The structure and furniture are in very good condition given most is white leather. The living area is a nice size having a love seat, 2 chairs, ottoman and eating table but you give up a lot of room to walk with this furniture. There are 2 small closets with a few shelves and only 8 hangers. The bathroom is ample sized with basic toiletries accommodating 2 person if necessary. Our bathroom floor had dirt and debris on the edges and corners which I cleaned up myself for our personal comfort. The beds and pillows are comfortable and the sheets are in very good condition but they are not soft. Lighting is good throughout and there are black out drapes. We entered the room which was a bit warm and turned the A/C on to the coldest. 4 hours later the temperature did not change and we called the front desk who informed us to change the settings, which we did. Overnight, the internal temperature did not change, I believe it stayed around 78 degrees F. We called the front desk the next morning at 11:30 am to request a maintenance visit and no one showed up. We were uncomfortable with this temperature as it was warm for us. I don’t think I would come back here and would be able to find a better place for us. I was disappointed because it is a very cool and hip décor.

Gorgeous hotel, sitting areas on every floor, large bathroom, big closet in the room, free wifi, very very clean and not expensive. Free airport shuttle. Loved it!

This is a super attractive hotel, immaculate rooms, with modern décor and a hip vibe, and except for what I consider to be two GIANT flaws, I would give it a five. 1. Wifi was EXTREMELY slow 2. It is near nothing. You can’t even get to a metro stop without taking the bus, and it’s an entertainment wasteland. It’s too cool to be an airport hotel, but unfortunately, that’s what it is. I got a free night here after a canceled flight, so wouldn’t stay here again. However, if it were in Madrid city center, I would absolutely stay here.

I was in Madrid in the summer of 2010 and stayed at this Hotel. Axor barajas is a small but yet nice hotel located near the airport of Madrid in Spain, the hotel only has 217 rooms and the building it self is not very large.(I was in Madrid in the summer of 2010) The rooms are small but yet comfortable and the style and the way the rooms are set up are different then what you find in the USA. We only slept here one night and left the next day but for a one day stay it was great, the price range is from 65 Euro’s up to 100 Euro’s making it pretty cheap hotel and convenient because it is right next to the airport. They do have breakfast in the morning and also in the floor witch was the third floor that we were staying at had a separate room with computers for personal use. There was also another room across from the computer room in the second floor for people just sit and relax with all white couches and very nice style something you don’t see in other country’s. As far as the rooms and bed it was a bit different as the showers are a bit smaller and the room is not as big as the one you would find for example in a Hampton INN or a Holiday Inn, yet it is fascinating because it is very cool and you also get a card to slide in the door to open up your room. The staff seemed pretty friendly and the breakfast was pretty good. They also have a parking garage below the hotel so that guest can enjoy there stay and don’t have to walk far to get there cars, not most parking spots in Europe are very small so parking can be difficult that is why you do not find many large cars in Europe. Great stay and when i come back to Madrid i want to come to this hotel.
