I am sure most Spaniards are familiar with 100 Montaditos, it being a national chain. For the rest of us, this is a reasonable place to have a bite to eat and a beer or two. As the name says, they have 100 montaditos on their menu, montaditos being small sandwiches. They also offer appetizers and a few other food items, and are open for breakfast. You look through the menu and choose what you want. Each table has menus, a pen, and a pad of forms upon which you can write your selections. You go up and order and pay, and they will call your name when your order is ready. Since it is self-service and the food is decent, this would normally be a three star restaurant, in my opinion. However, I went on a Sunday, and everything on the menu is 1 € on Sundays and Wednesdays this summer. Plus, I enjoyed every montadito I ordered. Four montaditos, a piled high serving of olives, 3 jarras of beer, all for 9.50 €. This is probably the best restaurant deal I found in Spain. Hence the fourth star. If you like small plate meals, this is a good option.
