Restaurante Chez Tomas

We dined at this restaurant tonight I have to say that this is the best food I’ve eaten in a very long time. We live in San Francisco we know were good food is. This place was off the charts. Tomas was delightful and the food creative, fresh, and amazing. I don’t know what the other reviewers experienced when they were here, but this place is absolutely top dining. Great service and friendly people. Do the secret pork and the scallop warm salad and you will be in heaven. This is a must go place.

Llafranc is itself a beautiful place, and this place is not too far at all from the beach, but far enough from all the other touristy restaurants.
The waiter was very knowledgeable and excited about the menu, telling us in great detail the daily special, how it’s prepared, and how we must have it as it’s a local specialty! And so we went for the daily menu x 3, taking three different starters and 3 of the same main course.
For the starters, we had asparagus (very well cooked), stuffed red peppers, and a salad. The main course was a regional dish prepared from rice, various seafood, sausages, and other meats. It was kind of the consistency of risotto. It was ok, but as I’m not a fan of risottos, I wasn’t too big of a fan of this either.
The cheese and honey dessert was simple but very good. One note, the honey should already be on the cheese, or served in some container, and not in a plastic box (it was one of those single serve boxes of honey).
Overall great food and ambiance to take a break from strolling around LLafranc.

Kann mich dem Beitrag vom 20.10.2013 nur anschließen. Essen ordentlich, aber nicht überragend. Etwas lieblos angerichtet. Schneller und netter Service. Preis-​Leistungsverhältnis angemessen. Terrasse sehr nett. Karte klingt ambitionierter, als die Gerichte dann sind.

Ich bin bei Chez Tomas schon oft vorbeigelaufen und dachte mir, das müsste man doch mal probieren. Hat aber irgendwie nie geklappt (keine Chance ohne Reservierung)… bis auf kürzlich.
Tomas liegt nicht unbedingt zentral, aber doch direkt an der Haupteinfahrtsstraße von Llafranc. Jetzt ist in Llafranc in der Hochsaison die Hölle los und man könnte meinen, das müsste doch unheimlich laut sein — ist es aber abends nicht mehr.
Im Gegenteil: Die Sommenschirm-​überschattete Terrasse, die zur Straße hin mit einer blickdichten, hohen Hecke abgeschirmt wird, hat eindeutig Romantik-​Potential! Und wenn man rechtzeitig reserviert, hat man sogar eine Chance dort einen Tisch zu erhalten.
Man merkt auch, dass man hier Ambitionen hat — schon am Outfit der Bedienung: Hier hat die Dunkle Seite der Macht Pâté gestanden. Schlichtes Schwarz ist angesagt.
Das Essen wird schön präsentiert, ist aber was Geschmack und Zubereitung angeht, eher durchschnittlich.
Meine Pasta war ok und danach das Entrecot mit Foie Gras war dann leider etwas zäh. Auf das Dessert hatte ich verzichtet.
Der Service ist schnell und professionell.
Gehobenes Preisniveau.
Ausserhalb der Saison geschlossen.
FAZIT:
Ok — hab ich Chez Tomas also auch endlich mal probiert. Tolle, romantische Terrasse. Professioneller Service. Ich finde die Küche hier nicht sehr kreativ und deshalb die Preise auch etwas zu hoch.

Comida de calidad. Servicio correcto y acogedor. La terraza más bonita de Llafranc, y eso que no tiene vistas al mar. Recomendable el pescado.

Muy bien la cocina y la gente en la restaurant son First Class
