Udon Noodle Bar

A small noodle house hidden from the major streets of Barcelona, Udon provides a fine menu of cuisine.

If you are in the area and are dying for ramen, do yourself a favor and buy a plastic bowl of instant ramen at the grocery store and add boiling water instead of coming here.
I had the Tampopo Ramen.
Like a previous review, there is no flavor in the broth and it is topped with freeze dried corn and green onion, just like the instant stuff.
The meat was just a bunch of fat slices.
Also tried the curry chicken gyoza. It would have been OK, if cooked properly. The top of the gyoza was still opaque white and not cooked.
Mall food fail.

Pleasant staff, but both the soba soup and the gyoza I got were overcooked.

Tengo que reeditar el comentario con mucho gusto. Después de una pequeña temporada un poco flojo, el Udon del C. C Diagonal Mar vuelve a estar en plena forma.
Las camareras muy simpáticas, menús y carta renovados, buena comida… Una opción a tener en cuenta si vienes por aquí y tienes hambre.

Les cambreres molt simpàtiques, menus i cartes renovats, bon menjar… Una opció a tenir en compte si vens per aquí i tens gana.

This branch is located inside a sort of food mall type of place. The folks were super friendly and the service was fast. So I asked for udon with veggies. What I got was the small amount of udon with some shredded carrot. For my baby I got the order of grilled chicken skewer. Be aware that the portion in SMALL. But how about I just paid almost 16 EUR for that TINY chicken skewer and minimal bowl of udon. There’s not much else by way of Asian food, but save your money. Not worth it.

I am not really that picky about udon and ramen, but really?! This place was not good at all! The ramen broth was very bland with thin flat noodles (not ramen) and the udon broth was full of vinegar so it was oddly sweet and sour. I was really surprised because we figured you can’t really mess this up…

Diner was superb, ealthy and great price

Die Udon Noddle Bar liegt im Einkaufszentrum Diagonal Mar und hat uns sehr begeistert. Verschiedene Wok-​, Nudel– und Reisgerichte und Sushi mit Nudeln statt Reis werden hier lecker zubereitet und in schlichtem, japanischen Design serviert. Das Personal spricht Englisch und ist sehr freundlich. Das können wir nur weiterempfehlen!

Location
Modern, stylisch und dennoch schlicht in weiß gehalten. Also mir hats sehr gefallen, da ich eh finde dass weniger manchmal mehr ist. Als wir (gegen 17 Uhr) das Restaurant betraten waren wir die einzigen Gäste, ich weiß nicht ob es vielleicht erst gegen nachts hier voller wird.
Food
Die Speisekarte war hervorragend. Zwar ist das Restaurant auf Noodle-​Spezialitäten (vor allem die Udon Noodle Soup aber auch Wokgerichte mit Beef oder Chicken). Natürlich gibt es auch Reisgerichte und leckere Salate.
Was ich aber ganz toll fand waren die Vorspeisen. Hier gibt’s leckere Gyoza, Marinierten Lachs, Tempuragemüse und Shrimps, Edamame. Wir haben uns schlussendlich für die Lachsspießchen mit Lauch, Chickenspießchen, die Good Rolls und die Very Good Rolls entschieden. Letzteres beides waren eine Art Sushiröllchen mit Lachs und Avocado, aber anstatt Reis hat man hier Nudeln verwendet. (Sehr lecker und auch wirklich frisch zubereitet!)
Service
Obwohl wir kein Spanisch und nur etwas Englisch gesprochen haben, konnten wir uns doch ganz gut ausdrücken. Die Bedienung war auch wirklich sehr nett und zuvorkommend.
Prices
Preislich waren wir überrascht (ja essen in Barcelona ja eigentlich recht teuer ist). Die Vorspeisen haben je nur 2 – 5 Euro gekostet. Hauptgerichte bekommt man ab ca 8 Euro und für die Desserts zahlt man auch um die 4 Euro.
Fazit
Zum Glück habe ich dieses Restaurant schon vor Barcelona im Internet entdeckt. Die Röllchen (mit Nudeln) waren wirklich mal was anderes als m an es vom normalen Sushi gewöhnt ist und die Vorspeisen perfekt um den kleinen Hunger zwischendurch zu stoppen. Jederzeit wieder.
