I stayed here for 5 nights. The rooms are spacious, modern and clean, very minimal. Do not expect to have a TV or phone in the room but there is no need for that since you are in a vibrant city. I loved the high ceilings, loft style exposed electrical. My room had huge french doors that opened onto the street and I was able to sit out at night and take in the evening. Staff was friendly and there was a great bar/restaurant/coffee house right below. Unfortunately our a/c was out 3 of the 5 nights. The staff was gracious and gave us a fan but it definitely put a downer on the stay. It’s one block off Las Ramblas and can be a bit noisy but the location is ideal. If the a/c problem hadn’t happened this would easily get 5 stars!

Very modern and clean rooms, renovations are nearly complete. Location is great near the Metro stations and Ramblas. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is wonderful in an old world back dining room. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation to any traveler.

Found ‘em on Unilocal(thanks, Unilocalers who went before and dropped a breadcrumb!). Great budget spot. The location is excellent(standing at the door looking out, the sharp left goes to Universitat, left goes to Catalunya, the other two will put you on Las Ramblas). All attendants were friendly and helpful. We stayed in an apartment with three beds and a sofa, all simple modern furniture. Our apartment had a toilet in one [closet] and a shower & sink in another small room. The toilet-room was comically small, but perfectly usable; it was a point of constant amusement. We never made it to breakfast, so I can’t comment on that… I only know that if I return to bewitching Barcelona, I’ll try to stay at Hosteria Grau.

I came here last November for my Mediterranean Cruise and stayed here 1 night before embarking on the ship and 1 night before leaving for the the United States. I absolutely adore this place and the next time I come here I will stay again. It’s located in an alley… very safe. The hostel is small and quaint. I booked a room with its own private bathroom… I do recommend it if you prefer to be a little bit more private! The service is great and the price, not so bad! Happy Travels!

You cannot beat this budget hotel for price and location! Friendly staff, wifi, a public computer, plus free breakfast if you book direct with them and mention the RS book. I will admit this one of my favorite stays during a whirlwind Europe trip a few yrs ago and booked again for 3 nights this summer. I have done some backpacking… from bathing with a bowl dipped in a well to a hut that only turned electricity on when the sun was down… but all I could think about for the first 24 hrs was a strong desire to have a private bathroom. Do not get me wrong… the shared bathroom is spotless and having a sink in your room is convenient… but jeez, I have turned soft and girly in my 30s… so book accordingly, either is actually great options. Tip: Look for the palm tree when locating this hotel!

Great homey, family run hotel. It’s 25 room(garden pastel but tasteful old world Catalayn style). No TV which is fine. Modern updated bathroom. Spacious rooms. Quiet rooms.
