Por fin he podido ir a uno de esos locales que tenía pendientes desde hace mucho tiempo. Lo voy a admitir: me encanta la pizza. Así que todos mis amigos me decían que tenía que ir a Via Laietana a comer a una Pizzería llamada Fabián. Y yo que pensaba que era un nombre poco glamuroso.
Pero todo se tiene que decir: ha ganado premios por sus creaciones por medio mundo así que uno tiene que ir. Pizzas con oro, con foie, con trufa… pero eso sí, id a pedir un crédito a un banco porque os costarán 50 eurazos. Si sois como aquí el que escribe siempre podéis ir a las creaciones más tradicionales como la Margarita, la cuatro quesos, el calzone, o la que lleva anchoas (y de eso tendremos que hablar un día).
El servicio es correcto y el local modesto pero funcional. Creo que se puede comer por un precio correcto y que si uno se esmera un poco puede disfrutar sin muchos problemas, aunque recomiendo evitar las tapas. No son nada del otro mundo, ni las bravas ni las croquetas. Ambas tapas fueron un poco decepcionantes, pero estábamos ahí por las pizzas, así que…
Os recomiendo que vayáis y que comáis, y sólo que pidáis alguna de las creaciones de Fabián si de veras os apetece una experiencia única. Si váis de pasada y para satisfacer los instintos más básicos: pizza al canto.

Pizzería famosa por tener «la mejor pizza del mundo». A mi me ha gustado mucho pero no es la mejor que he comido. Carísima eso si. Comí la margarita de la casa.

Place is ok to eat with a group. Pizzas are generally good too. Bit pricier though. I think you can have better pizzas for the premium price you pay elsewhere.

El gran Fabian y sus pizzas, la verdad que no he comido las de 35 a 50 € siempre voy a las clásiscas de 10 – 12 € que son Excelentes! No os vayáis sin probar el Tiramisú de chicle, con trocitos de nube… lo más!

As fellow Unilocaler’s attest, Fabian was Surprisingly expensive and served small portions. The pizza looked good, though we decided to share an order of their «bruschetta tartar»…but at 12 €, it was not a good value, even though the flavor was nice but too heavy on the balsamic. This is a short review… you can get better pizza in the area.

This place clams to have won the pizza of the year award in 2007.
Now don’t get me wrong, that is an achievement to be proud of, but not if you charge 50 EUROS to try it!
They have a special pizza list that seems to have gold leaf as a topping as they are all around 40 euros.
And then they have the regular pizza menu with far more reasonable prices.
The reasonably priced pizzas are pretty decent, but not the most amazing, certainly not for someone who has spent a lot of time in Italy lately.
I just wish their speciality pizzas were more realistically priced, so this review could reflect those too! There is no way I am prepared to pay that much for a pizza so it gets marked down just because of that.

One cannot live on tapas alone, so when my wife wanted to try something simple for lunch, we stumbled upon this pizza place, purportedly owned by a world champion of pizza. While perhaps not the greatest pizza in the world, it wasn’t far from it – the four cheese blend in particular was outstanding and memorable. Decent wine was available, and prices were extremely reasonable. Definitely worth a visit.

First day in Barcelona & I wanted something different besides tapas.
I checked on Unilocal for some ideas but I was in the mood for some pizza & came across Fabian.
Perfect since this was walking distance from our hotel. We arrived & were seated right away the place was not crowded but as we dinned business did seemed to pick up.
Small place rustic looking with seating upstairs as well. we were seated below.
I started my meal with a glass of white wine, good wine my friend stuck to beer.
On the pizzas we tried the large size which is perfect specially since the pizzas are thin crust.
We tried the Picante pizza … Yummy this was delicious all the flavors mixed very well not super spicy but it does have a nice kick.
Next was the grilled Chicken pizza, this was great as well good flavor with the caramelized onions which was surprising to me only because am not a huge onion fan but in this case it went well with the pizza.
After our meal we managed to have some room for dessert, we tried the Mango Tiramisu this was good but it was more a like a mousse but it had a great mango taste.
Prices are decent, service was good this place turned out to be a great find.

Estaba por el centro de Barcelona quedando para ir a comer pero, sin saber dónde ir !
Y bajando Vía Laietana me ha llamado la atención una pizzeríà la cuál nunca me había fijado, mas que nada por la publicidad de la entrada dónde ponía que la pizzería de Fabián fue galardonada cómo la mejor del mundo (en el 2007) .
Materia prima de primera, aunque hay una gran diferencia entre las diferentes pizzas, hay las básicas de 10 – 12 € y después las especiales que ya suben a 20,28,40 y una especial la que fue galardonada como campeona del mundo.
La PIZZA DE ORO COMESTIBLE! cuyos ingredientes son: salsa de tomate, jamón dulce y queso, ensaladas variadas, parmesano reggiano, mozzarella de búfala, aceite de oliva virgen, reducción de vinagre de módena y oro comestible de 22 kilates… tiene buena pinta, pero el problema lo veo en su precio, 50 €…
Por el resto el trato de los camareros muy atento y las pizzas bastante buenas, masa fina, crujiente y buenos ingredientes.

After a week of tapas in Barcelona, I was looking for something different and craved pizza and my sister wanted to go to Fabians. Fabian is a former boxer who opened a pizza restaurant with great results. The restaurant is small and simple, just what you want from a pizza place.
The tomato tartare is outstanding and a perfect way to start a meal. Even if I had nothing else there, I would recommend this restaurant based on that appetizer alone.
But the pizza is excellent as well. The crust is not too thick and not too thin. It is also has the right chewiness for my tastes. I had the pepperoni pizza and my wife had a margarita pizza both of which were outstanding.
Fabian even came by our table and chatted with us for a while. We found out he got into pizza making because after a 48 bout boxing career in which he lost 47 times, he knew boxing was not his future. That is good news for pizza lovers who when traveling in Barcelona want a good pizza.

Man kann in sehr viele Disziplinen Weltmeister werden — Tractor Pulling, Lumber Sports, Kirschkernweitspucken — deswegen sollte ich eigentlich nicht überrascht sein, aber hier war ich’s doch. Denn Fabián, der Chef dieser Pizzeria, ist auch ein Weltmeister… im Pizzamachen.
Ja wirklich — ganz offiziell! Die ganzen italienischen Pizzabäcker müssen sich jeden Tag die Haare ausraufen, dass der Pizza-​Champ ein Spanier ist.
Und ein Pizza-​Meister ist er! Die Pizza ist dünn und fast ohne Rand (ok, ich weiss das ist eine Glaubensfrage. Manche schwören auf knusprigen Rand). Die Pizza ist gut belegt, aber nicht zu dick. Grad richtig eben.
Ach so — natürlich ist diese Weltmeister-​Sache nicht ohne Folgen geblieben: Auf der Karte finden sich einige Fabián-​Designer-​Pizzen (Preis zwischen 45 und 90EUR). Wenn man so eine bestellt, bekommt man sie auch garantiert vom Weltmeister serviert.
Aber für weniger anspruchsvolle Konsumenten gibt’s auch ganz normale Pizzen um die 12EUR. Die wird dann ganz profan vom Ober an den Tisch gebracht — mir hat sie trotzdem geschmeckt.
Ich finde es übrigens einen sympathischen Zug von Meister Fabián, dass er trotz all dem Starrummel den Bodenkontakt nicht verloren hat und immernoch «Volks-​Pizza» anbietet. Die kann man dann entweder im Erdgeschoss Viertel-​weise an der Bar, oder oben im Restaurant am Tisch essen.
Service ist schnell, professionell, nett und völlig unarrogant.
Übrigens: Als Nachtisch empfehle ich die hausgemachte Panna Cotta — frisch, nicht zu weich, nicht zu fest, nicht zu süß und mit sanfter Vanille-​Note. Eine der besten, die ich seit langem hatte!
FAZIT:
Lecker Pizza vom Weltmeister zu einem guten Preis. Uneingeschränkter Tipp von mir.
